Well, after all this, you have left us dangling with no future it seems. So sorry! Hope you are well.

Your opening paragraph is full of amusing windblown energy, and the descriptive details make it effortless to visualize the scene's every person and activity. As entertaining to follow is the aftermath of Snow's encounter with the mysteriously magical 'Prince Tiarna', when she pelts into her library to happen upon another disconcerting situation. The necessity of investigating Ravenna's mirror being suddenly thrust upon her, results in her earnest exchange of brainstorming with the learned monks and her most trusted retainers. It's assumed highly likely that the mirror sees through glamour, and so had given the monks glimpses of the vistor's true appearance, which Snow had not seen. More clues picked up during the long session do begin to flesh out the picture of who the 'prince' likely is - a Sidhe being. I find this reveal to be quite the eye-opener!

The Sidhe had proposed another visit, which sets off a firestorm of worry and speculation among all who care about Snow. She's admirably calm while being put under further protection, such as having many of her ladies come to sleep in her bedchamber. Snow is the one to comfort their fears, and instructs them how to behave in the face of the new circumstance. Many others of her Court advisers have discussed and formulated their own instructions for Snow.

And William has returned safely home, with updates on his military campaigns. Their quiet time together in the garden is of course interrupted by his concern over the Sidhe visitor. It's everyone's concern that Snow feels bound to carry out the second meeting, and her reasoning for that seems sound enough. There are a good number of select allies to acquaint with all available information, and through studious investigation, Father Mick and Brother Robin have arrived at much more - including the apparent name of the spirit of the mirror. It's all a risk and a most exciting climax when Snow summons the spirit, and it recognizes her as its Queen.

The emerged spirit, covered in its skillfully described liquid gold shroud, impresses as the most magnificent thing to behold. The occult scholars observing, must be suitably awed and nervously proud of that success. Having been schooled in the possible dangers, Snow takes charge, and the spirit's revelations of its historical knowledge of the Sidhe visitor, provide a treasure trove of advantage to Snow and company.

It's to be hoped that the spirit is correct, and a trustworthy, invaluable servant!

Oh, I do believe that Duke Hammond had been so correct that Snow White's closest ladies-in-waiting should join her for Brother Robin's tutelage to prepare the very young queen to be perceptive in her dealings with whomever she must and will officially meet with, in her near future. Though Snow was quite willing to compress lessons of reading, writing, French and Latin into a punishingly short space of time, it would seem that Brother Robin's instruction in his knowledge of all the historical gossip from wide-flung courts would count as useful as the Duke intended.

But when it comes time for those ladies to protect Snow from her 'inexperience', it's not in their hands as a handsome, splendidly dressed stranger materializes out of nothing at her garden gate, and Snow finds her attendants to all intents and purposes, frozen in time. Though suspicious but unafraid, she keeps a knife in hand while holding an extended conversation with the charming visitor. Without undue surprise, she's deduced that he wields spells, and allows him to involve her in a pleasant and harmless test of proof. Waiting for some time to give his rank and name as Prince Tiarna, he may possibly have, through magical ability, made Snow show and tell him far more than she should have, about herself, Ravenna and the Duke! Or it may have been due to her inexperience. Not being rendered starry-eyed by him in the least, she's told rather sweetly that he'll return soon, just before he's gone as mysteriously as he'd arrived.

The genteel prince hasn't but partly answered Snow's questions of him, and seems to have chosen to remain as teasingly unspecific to her, as to your readers.

Thank you for continuing this story! I didn't like the new Huntsman movie...even with Chris Hemsworth. Can't wait for the next installment.

My first reaction to the beginning of the chapter was "yay! yay! yay!" I remembered that discussion of clothes as well! And you know I love Snow's make-do attitude.:)

Poor Snow. It's difficult realizing that this understanding you might have had for something or someone wasn't ever real at all.

Good, Snow! Stand your ground!

It's so neat finally reading this after all our discussions. It's interesting to see what ideas take shape and how they do so.

William, I believe you're making a bit of an understatement.

This whole chapter made me giggle. Although Eric should worry less that word would back to the Queen about him and more that word would get back to Snow that he called her stroppy. ;p

I know, I know...you (and Snow and Eric) said a year and a day, but I admit that a tiny part of me thought (hoped) it might be Snow in the house, irrational as that might be.

At least it was someone to help Eric instead of harm.
