So this is the end... That was incredible while it lasted, and it's not smart to tempt fate. Kudos to you for writing this masterpiece, good sir!

A shame this seems to have died when it was really getting good.

This story is incredible. An original storyline that captures the political intrigue of the source material, paired with rich characterization. Also, I'm an absolute sucker for the old English they used for the remake, and you nail that as well. Thanks for writing.

A very fresh day to you as well! This was quite the siege. I do have to blame the command for not shattering the gate controls after the first wall was taken. Quite the shame. Dycedarg and Zalbaag might as well have caught them completely flatfooted with all the spell preperation they put into the assault. I'm really looking forward to how this progresses. I know Ramza is still injured, but I just can't help but wish for him to put on some serious bulk by the time his next confrontation with Zalbaag. Jump arts and white magic that he seems so fond of just doesn't seem like a match for Zalbaag's Dark Knight, ninja art, and time mage skills. You've hinted at him starting to master the Holy Knight class, but so far he seems to have a lot of trouble welding it effectively without injuring himself.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that your story has been getting really exciting, and I look forward to whatever chapter you release next. Have a great week.

This time I'll review instead of PM, since there hadn't been one for 3 months now. :P
(But it looks like I cannot use Emoji in reviews, so I'll use Emoticons instead.)

I'll say this chapter is by far the grandest battle I read in this story. I'll separate it into three section.
First, the battle itself was 10 out of 10 perfect score, the mixture of different tactics along with ingenuity behind them was marvellously done & balanced. The lacking of siege weapons with teleport as replacement to go behind the walls & the used of flame shield with flameburst bomb as quick healing was something only unique to the world within the story. Yet, you shown "tricks" & "tactics" use in our world during a battle. For example, when Zalbaag use a bluff while duelling the female knight & Irvine (the male archer) knowing they had already lost the battle unsure the enemy will remain disadvantage by burning the food sources.
(So good work on this part! :D)

Second, the characters' POV of the battle, you had Beoulve Brothers for the Order of the Northern Sky (Hokuten) & 4 different characters which we only knows this chapter for Order of the Southern Sky (Nanten), I give a score of 8 out of 10. The moment when Zell (General of the Southern Sky) perished, it had already been determined that the Beoulve Brothers are the "main character" of this whole chapter. As one died after another, showing how morally decline as they are as they lose more of the fortress to the invading party, yet remain loyal with hope of Cid returning. However, we readers already known that Cid had march north possible Zeltennia Castle, instead of west Fort Besselat, so they were already doomed from the start. :(
What I want to say is the balance of character's "survival rate" or more accurately the plot armor of the Beoulve Brother are too over the top (even when Zalbaag was wounded), while characters of both Hokuten & Nanten die like ants, especially those with Zalbaag. We only know of their name provided by Zalbaag when their fate meets an end. In truth they are just cannon fodder, even if the Nanten character provide us readers more of their side of the battle, they were doomed to die.
You could had at least one of them captured as POW (Prisoner of War), balancing the scale of "survival rate" that anything could had happen to anyone, instead of death.
(I know it kind confusing even to me, but I'm not complaining. I just don't want extra characters with names just show & dies for the plot.)

Lastly, the effects of the battle, I won't place a score on this one yet, since we had yet to know what will Ramza in Limberry, Cid in Zeltannia & the Church's response of the battle. You could at least had one of Nanten's POV character explain the aftermath of the battle first handedly, where they would either praise (if a turncoat) or c*urse (if prisoner of war) on the Beoulve Brother instead of reporting the result like "accountant" to the readers.
(I wonder is the one reporting out the battle Arazlam Duroi?)

Okay, that is all for this chapter & I' sorry if I had offended you or anything, since it had been some time since I review one chapter by a time instead of a whole story. :(

I just wish the next chapter would be out within this month at least. Hope you will replied in PM.

P.S. Nothing related to the chapter, but I want to asked will you include the recurring gag duo character "Biggs & Wedge"?
These two had even over the top plot armor, then the playable character within each Final Fantasy series.
I'll like them, too bad FFT don't had them as semi-generic, so I had two of my generic named them when I played the game from the start. :3

It about time we know the truth and not what the Square Enix tell us how it ends.
