for How Long It Takes

This is FANTASTIC. You handled the topic very well. Especially well, I think, because Riza is SO strong and capable, we know it would take a lot to bring her down and break her, so we know how much she must have been hurt for her to be like this, very well done.

Wow. This made me cry. I never cry over fanfiction, movies, books, tv shows, etc., even thought I’m a pretty sensitive person. It’s a testament to your writing skill ;D. Gosh, poor Riza. That’s horrible. The Royai was amazing. Roy is so caring and understanding in this fic. I’ll pray for your friend, I’m a Christian too. This review doesn’t feel like it makes sense and it’s kinda all over the place haha but I LOVE YOUR WORK. I never read angst really but I thought I might as well since I’ve loved all your other work. AHH it’s so good

I feel as though people thirst for normalcy, but sometimes, no matter how much they strive for it, it leans just out of reach. Ultimately, people really only want happiness, with the journey they take to get there being the real challenge. A wonderful story, I feel as though you did the characters justice. Thank you, as I am yet again very, very late on many things.

Wow, this was so powerful and incredible and you treated the subject matter with such respect. Incredible one-shot

Had some people on a discord chat recommend you to me for reading, so you're now on my list. I have to say, so far, I'm not disappointed. :)

This was really good, and honestly, I wish that 22 minutes was all it took to start putting a life back together again. I've been in a captive situation before for two months (I'm doing advocacy work now, so I am very open about it to an extent), and I can say that a certain counselor I worked with in treatment for 4.5 months was the one who helped me start to put my life back together, but it took me 2 months to even allow anyone in, and she became like a mother figure to me. I suppose that since Riza has known Roy for a very long time, it may help make things a little different, but I know even the person I loved at the time couldn't do anything for me, and I hated myself for it.

Even still, this interpretation was nicely written, and everyone experiences healing differently. I enjoyed reading it (if only to once again show myself that these things happen, and I'm not the only one who has gone through something as such). I do hope your friend has had the opportunity to seek help and is doing even better now. I'm glad to hear that she is recovering!

I'm excited to start reading Stairway to Paradise as it has come highly recommended for Parental!Roy (which I'm all about right now). I've been told it is THE fic that started it all.

Don't doubt yourself; you wrote first-person Riza beautifully. I also really like the little weeks & days thing you added

Beautiful story, loved it! I think you have captured this very difficult topic and the strong emotions really well, and also absolutely did justice to the characters. Thank you for writing it!

As I am finding with your work, it is thought provoking and intense. I can imagine how hard it is to write with such strong emotion and not be consumed by it. You've done Hawkeye justice here- as well as the subject matter. Sometimes, it doesn't have to be outwardly spoken for the message to be received.

Brilliant as always!

This is definitely a delicate topic. Yet you treated it very well, it's pretty clear what happened even though you stayed vague.
It's of course impossible to say how Riza would react, but I think you've done her justice, as you have done Roy, his subtle assistance was very fitting.
It's hard to say I like this story, of course I hate what happened to Riza and I do wonder when someone might take her on weaponless, but the execution of the story is very well as I said and it leaves me thinking, with a lump in my throat, yet soothed by the ending.

Oh Riza...
This hurts my heart but also fills me with hope. Love the last line and Roy's declaration to Riza that the only person he'll allow take her away from him is herself.
