“Irreplaceable, that’s what you are...irreplaceable, though near or far...!” Lol, Christine aspires to a lot! Irreplaceable to Erik?

But now we know how truly wicked the Comte is. Poor Christine! He’s not going to let her alone, is he?

But with Erik as her ally, she really needn’t worry now, right? :)

"If you're trying to subtly imply your face, evoke pity and escape the offence you dealt me, it is not working."

Best line I have ever heard Christine use with Erik!

Great back and forth here, seems like Erik might start feeling protective of his Little Toad after all! Can't wait for the next installment!

Absolutely in love with this story so far! How are there only 11 reviews?! Love the new take on their characterizations - Erik here is so opposite from the original story. Can't wait to hear more about Christine's story and how exactly she ended up in that carriage with the Comte. But more excited to see how many days she can wheedle out of Erik! Curious to see when he will first hear her sing, since she is only a dancer so far - Brava!

Now he's stuck! Christine has told Erik he is good, which carries the weight of a prison sentence for him. He has to fulfill the terms of her faith in him, after all.

And she's not an easy person, is she? She's obnoxious enough to provoke anyone with her assumptions that she's owed a welcome if not food and shelter. She's a repeat offender when it comes to poor Erik.

Erik's artistry is intriguing - I love the little nod to Susan Kay that the dresses in his home represent. It will be fascinating to see how cleverly he deals with this unwelcome Christine! :)

Poor Erik! Christine is indeed returning to haunt him, LOL!
Really, she couldn’t be more socially inept if she tried. No wonder she got into trouble with the Compte.

Still, it explains a lot about her character that Christine has learned to be brassy and rude just to be noticed. She does need to defend herself in the world, poor naive thing, though she seems to be doing a pretty poor job of it. Can she at least sing decently?

It’s fascinating that in this story Erik is half Persian. There must be quite a backstory there!

Great chapter! More, please? :)

Oh, I'll take that calorie-free virtual chocolate, thank you very much! :)

I think that poor Erik really IS in trouble. Christine is a woman who is not good for anyone's mental stability! Maybe she doesn't deserve the vile attentions of the Comte, but HE deserves to be driven crazy by her - not Erik! And in a way that doesn't involve the satisfaction of his libido.

So, she's pulled some of his hair out and now is prepared to leave. Will she...really? It's not good for Erik's sanity that she's living right above him at the Opera.

Yep, everything indicates that this bad penny is going to turn up again!

Lovely chapter. More, please? :)

Time for Erik to install an elevator...for the express purpose of sending Christine the Pest back where she belongs!

She’s worse than annoying. But she’s useful in some ways—e.g., suggesting traps and trapdoors. Next she’ll be telling the ballet rats at the Opera stories of a ghost who haunts the place!

Wonderful chapter...poor Erik, driven to madness by crazy Christine!

I absolutely *adore* this story! The idea that Christine isn't right in the head, or that Erik wants to drop her off in a park like an unwanted pet, is absolutely hilarious! XD

And *knowing* that he's in trouble will no doubt not help him at all come tomorrow morning. ;D

Will Christine be able to find her way back to his underground home without the use of her eyes? I can picture her being able to memorize the twists and turns while blindfolded, then in the future (the very next day? Lol!) closing her eyes to return to Erik's home uninvited.

Was Madame Giry the familiar name Erik is certain he misheard Christine say?

Oh man, I can't wait for the next update. XD

“I am a man”

“For how long?”

“Until I die”

Pure comedy.

And I thought that Canary Christine was a lightweight! This Christine is all sorts of giggles and sighs with a sip from a flask.

Wow! What a gripping first chapter!
I was so happy to finally sit down and read this and boy, was I not disappointed!
From the very beginning, the tension in the carriage, the daunting act she was supposed to perform, and I knew he was coming to rescue her...hoping he would and then there he was!
Great job with the imagery!

Your story description of "what could possibly go wrong?" made me laugh. Oh, how about kidnaping and dropped chandeliers and humiliated croaking sopranos? Lol!

Oh my goodness! The last line had me chuckling as well. Is it possible that Christine wasn't quite truthful when denying she'd had any cinnamon rolls for five months? XD

If Mama Valérius is dead and Madame Giry detests Christine, as it seems, where in the world has the girl been living?

If she has not yet met the Angel of Music, then how in the world could Erik possibly know that she wasn't really accompanying Philippe and his friend of her own accord? And for that matter, why does he care what happens to a mediocre dancer?

This sounds like it's going to be fun!

Oh, this chapter is a hoot! I LOVE the dialogue - poor, patient Erik! He really is a candidate for sainthood.

And this Christine would definitely try the patience of a saint. It's a wonder she's made it to this point without significant injury or something worse. Well, she ALMOST suffered something traumatic, but has been spared the experience thanks to Erik.

I adore the truth contained in the very last line of this chapter: Erik IS in trouble indeed!

More, please?

Just noticed an email announcing your new story. Interesting.

Oh, I LOVE this beginning! Erik is as sexy as ever.

Christine, though...she’s quite as naive as Leroux’s Christine. I wonder how she ended up in such a hideous predicament? How on earth did the evil Comte manage to blackmail such an innocent?

FANTASTIC beginning...more, please? :)
