avery: ah hello mister robin-hood-batman mashup! he seems like a real nice one, good intentions all around. unfortunately he's headed into the games and is therefore screwed. i don't have a super strong opinion on him tbh.

izora: "izora astanova does not want to die" well i do not want her to die either. i loved the first peek we got of her and i liked this a lot too. she just has so much sunshine in her! do not die pls! also that peek at backstory was interesting... really seems like cel is spitting facts rn. god she deserves the world. rooting for her so hard.

harry: aw this boy is so sad he needs a hug. BUT ALSO we talked about this in verses a while ago- like the whole districts having grudges against the tribute slot that killed their kids most recently, and i LOVE that idea. like if d8 kills both d1s, then the next few years the d1s aim for d8 specifically. i love that and wait no i don't because BLUE IS D7 FUCK ME. WAIT I ACTUALLY HATE THIS HARRY PLEASE DON'T KILL BLUE IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR?

clara: oh this is very interesting! so first my suspicion that she was the criminal soren saw is confirmed. then the whole idea of volunteering to escape the death penalty, i love? i haven't seen this before myself so i am very much enjoying it. beyond that she seems very sad and justifiably so but also it was her fault... yikes. she wanted to injure them so they would give her more attention (and something about a factory that is still unclear)? that is Not Good. clara seems like she has a lot of negative personality traits that i don't love but i will love her as a character. she has a lot going on and i want to know more pls.

big congrats for finishing intros, what a nightmare! i look forward to the day i escape them myself. my least favorite color is that gross neon yellow-green that is neither yellow or green but that that one type of preteen boy seemed to wear exclusively at one point in time. iykyk. this was a fantastic set to round out the group, and yay pregames! see you next time marie!
7/9 c10 11daydreamer626
welcome back marie! staboom! im glad things are getting calmer for you, that's for sure! and we are finished with intros! wootwoot!

i'd say my least favorite color is either darker browns or reds. darker browns just don't look that good, and red things seem to always stain other things. (not like other colors, but i will have digressed.)

avery: sweetheart. so kind. so warm. and a bully-beater to boot (verbally, of course xD). and he has his own moniker, that's neat. still, he must be well-known to earn that. and the fact he doesn't seem to mind it...maybe this will be something that will give him an edge in the arena. i can see the capitol eating that up. though he doesn't seem the type to get cocky, let's hope he doesn't try that on the careers. it'll make him more of a target.

izora: i like how at first we think the perdanez (i see the cecelia references abound ;D ) institute is a training one (or at least, I thought that...). but she is being blackmailed into quitting. and she's not gonna let that stop her. whereas celestino is all "girl, please," especially with bringing up ed the friend. oh boy, we know she's going into the games. but how (reaped or volunteered) remains to be seen.

harry: his relationship with alistor is sweet, watching out for this little guy who gets past his defenses. and harry has a vendetta against seven because their boy killed his sister. blue better watch themselves. (though watch them join the careers somehow and harry's outvoted on keeping them out xD).

clara: probably my favorite pov of this chapter. i love how it starts with a poem, which we think "awww, how sweet." then it turns into "poems are from my ex." ooh, yep, good reason for burning them. then "i killed my parents in a fire and i don't regret it. but my ex also died." like wham. outta left field, complete turn around from what the beginning of the pov suggests. the fact clara feels no remorse for killing tells me she's going to do alright in the games. unless the remorse comes back and bites her.

great job as always, marie! see you around!

The intros are finished! Hell yeah, let the Games begin!

Avery seems like a very sweet kind of guy, who has a heart of gold, but I definitely see that being his downfall. He'll definitely make an ally in the arena and will do his best to protect them but I think it could be what kills him, he's almost too kind. Not that is a bad thing, I love the sweet and kind tributes, they warm my heart! I did enjoy his POV though, getting to read what he thought and how he doesn't let his poverty stop him from helping others out! I'm not too sure what I totally think of Avery yet, but right now, I like him!

I'm loving that Izzy and Ed know each other and are actually pretty close, and the fact that both of them are (potentially) volunteering is seriously interesting, I really like it! Plus Izzy just seems like quite a down to earth kind of gal, she doesn't treat Cel any different just because he's blind, she treats him like any other person, which I'm sure is exactly what Cel wants! I'm curious though, if Izzy will still volunteer or if she will have the unfortunate luck of being reaped? We'll just have to wait and see, we'll find out soon anyway! Overall, I like Izzy, she seems pretty chill and I really like that about her!

I'm not too sure what make of Harry. I feel sad for him that he's lost both his mother and sister, that must have definitely taken a toll emotionally and mentally but by the sounds of it, he hasn't been allowed to express his feelings, thanks to his father. I'm curious about why his father makes him act that way he does, stoic and emotionless, that sounds seriously toxic! I liked his brotherly relationship with Alistor though, it was so wholesome, and I feel like he'll be a big motivator, besides Liz, of course!

Clara is a sneaky lil killer then, hm? I think either her, Kayn and Anna will either get along and be allies that are ready to back stab each other, or be enemies and definitely aim to take each other out! That's what I think anyway! I thought that get backstory was kinda cool, I've seen the killer like this before, but I liked her nonetheless! She has killed before, out of revenge and not totally on purpose, it was more by accident rather than with set intentions to kill, though obviously it doesn't excuse what she did though. She's a lone wolf in District 5 it seems, though I think she definitely could be a contender!

That's all from me for now, I'm hella hyped for the next chapter, let's goooo!

So i know i have been really behind on reviews, so I'm just going to do one long review for the intros.
I'm doing it in district order rather than order they were written, though.

Asteria: I was wondering about her when I saw on the blog that her weapon was a violin bow, and she definitely went above any expectations. I LOVE her. I especially love that she has a creative interest (even if she did murder her sister with it). ALSO her FC is gorgeous pls,

Laurent: I like how much he cares for his siblings, but his POV was pretty confusing. His sister obviously doesn't volunteer, because Asteria. And Laurent doesn't want to volunteer, so why would he unless it was to protect his sister? So how did he end up in the games?

Oxanna: I've seen a lot of tributes who were the backup and purposely injure the first tribute. I've never seen one where the first tribute is injured and the backup doesn't want to go, so that's new! We only saw Oxanna with her sister, so I'm not sure how she'll be around other people, but I think I like her.

Harry: His mom died too? Well that's sad for him. The little kid is really cute, so I liked that. I feel like if he hates District 7, there are two possible things that happen: he kills Blue, or Anna kills him. I could also see him getting sidetracked and not getting along with the rest of the Careers because he wants to hunt down 7 specifically.

Evadne: She seems really creative and nice. She's also the only other fourteen year old aside from Vivia, so that's cool. I did notice that her part on the blog says she's a pyromaniac. I didn't see anything about that in her intro, but I hope we will in the Games. Overall, I really like Evadne.

Arobyn: I think you made a mistake with his intro - the heading says District 1 Female. Anyway, I like that he's a daydreamer, and I like his relationship with his best friend Aya. Also, I recognize where his name is from, and yeah, Throne of Glass names are really cool. Celaena and Nehemia are two of my favorites.

Vivia: Vivia is my babie, and you wrote her really well! I loved seeing her with her girlfriend, and I can't wait until we get further into the story to see how she gets along with other characters. She is really young for a Career, so I wonder if that will cause any problems, or if it will be fine?

Phoenix: He seems like he has a bad family life. He also doesn't seem like he really wants to volunteer. That's what, 3/6 Careers who don't want to volunteer? Him, Laurent, and Oxanna. Anyway, his dad likes his sister more, but I still don't like how mean he is to her. So right now, he's probably one of my least favorites. That might change later on, though.

Clara: I just fell in love again... I think she's another one of my favorites. Pyromaniac sapphic who writes poetry? I am here for it. Also that's two pyromaniac tributes... I wonder if they'll get along well (or just set each other on fire lmao). Also her preferred weapon is bombs? Please I need to see more of her.

Soren: I like the detective thing he and his friend have going on! His crush was murdered? I wonder what happened there? Anyway, I love how you tied in Soren's storyline to Clara's, with her being the person setting the fires and them being the two boys she's seeing. Will they recognize each other when they meet?

Lexus: Ooh, I like that she flies hovercrafts! I also noticed a reference to her district partner Talyn with the shop. And she's another daydreamer tribute. She seems like she doesn't like living in 6, and wants to leave and live a better life somewhere else. Also, her mom is dead, so that's sad. She seems pretty cool, though!

Talyn: Talyn seems like a pretty nice, normal guy here. He's just doing what he has to do to help his family. Unfortunately for him, that means helping out a gang. I really like his relationship with his sister, too. Also, I loved the way you hinted that he might end up fighting someone with a wrench.

Anna: Anna I think I love you. I mean she is scary but I love her. She just lives in the woods and kills people and I don't know why but I love that for her. I feel like she'll get far in the Games, but if she doesn't interact with other people very often, I think she might have some trouble in the pre-games.

Blue: Aww, they're a babie! Like, they're my age, but they're still a babie. They seem really nice, and I've never seen a beekeeper tribute before. That's a pretty creative idea. I don't know what was going on in the Collens house, but it can't have been anything good. Anyway, Blue seems really sweet, I like them!

Tessida: How do so many of these girls have girlfriends and where can I find one? Anyway, I love that Tess is a daydreamer and an adventurer. District 8 isn't the best place for that, though, which probably annoys her. And it seems like she had a bad break-up with Calico, what happened there? Also, are those boxes a reference to Zach from Ashes?

Wells: I'm sorry, but my favorite tv show (the 100) had a character named Wells. He died in the first few episodes, but it's still my only association with the name, so it's all I can think of when I see it. He does seem to have a really great relationship with his brother (who apparently was sent to another syot?), so that's great!

Calista: She rides horses? That's cool! She also knows about the constellations? That's a unique interest to have. Oh, not another tribute with dead parents? They're already going to be in the Games, do they need to be sad first, too? She seems really calm and peaceful, and I like that about her.

Arnau: Oh, another District 10 tribute who likes horses? I guess they'll have something in common. It looks like he works hard at his farm job, too. Aww, he has such a cute baby niece. And she likes to draw and paint? And Arnau saved up to buy her a paintbrush as a present? Aww, that's so adorable!

Azalea: She's a hard worker, and it looks like she has a lot of siblings. I like tributes with big families, although sometimes it can be hard to keep track of who's who! Did their parents die, and that's why she wants to keep their plants for them, even if they don't make much money? That's really sweet of her. I like Azalea so far.

Avery: So he is protective of younger kids, especially his little sister. He also seems like a pretty thoughtful and quiet person. I don't really like the nickname Nighthawk, but I guess he didn't choose it for himself. Some little kid chose it, and little kids can choose some really stupid nicknames sometimes.

Lapis: Ooh, a thief tribute! I like her! She seems really smart, so that's good! And she's a rebel, too! She gave fake information to the Major? I think I love her. It seems like her parents have some problems, but she still seems to love them. She also works a gem store? It makes sense with her name being Lapis.

Kayn: So he's a really good assassin, but they're sending him into the Hunger Games for.. publicity? I don't get it. Since when do assassins want people to know who they are? Isn't it usually more of like a secret thing? Assassins usually don't want to be caught, because that would make their job a lot harder.

Izora: So she doesn't want to volunteer, but if she quits the program, she'll get harassed and blackmailed, death threats, etc because she let some other person's kid get reaped. That's a lot of pressure for her. She does seem to have a really nice friend, though! I love her conversation with Celestino.

Edmund: Edmund seems really sweet. I mean, he's literally volunteering just to save some random kid he probably doesn't even know. I feel like being such close friends with the other tribute is probably not the best idea, though. What if they end up in a situation where they have to kill each other?

Tribute Chart:
Mine: Vivia
Love: Asteria, Evadne, Clara, Anna, Tessida, Lapis
Like: Oxanna, Arobyn, Lexus, Blue, Calista, Arnau, Azalea, Edmund
Neutral: Laurent, Soren, Talyn, Wells, Avery, Izora
Dislike: Harry, Phoenix, Kayn

Finally getting to reviewing these intros before the next Mariesday! So here we go!

Wells seems nice, he seems like someone who tries to focus on the positive things, which is relatable since I try to fill the same. But I'm just not sure how to feel about him though, he seems like a chill and nice kind of person but he just didn't really stand out to me that much, but sometimes you don't need to stand out of the crowd to become a favourite or a competitor in the Games! I liked that he has a twin and that he looks out for him, that brotherly love is always so sweet and wholesome to read, even if they annoy each other sometimes! Like I said, for now, I don't know how exactly I feel about him but this is only the intros yet, my opinion could change drastically the more we see of Wells!

Evadne seems like a very sweet, respectful and patient person, from what I gathered from her POV! She has been through the struggles of an eating disorder, so she understands the pain it causes mentally and physically, she knows how Braedon feels, or at least to a certain extent anyways. I liked that she is a painter, similar to her parents, I love seeing tributes using any form of creative media, I don't even know why, it just draws me closer to them, and Evadne is no exception, I'm already liking her character! Her and Arobyn will be district partners and I think they will either really get along since they both are creative in different ways, or they'll be too shy or awkward to say anything to each other, lol! Either way, I'm already a big fan of Evadne, I can't wait to see how she develops!

I've seen some hype about Kayn on discord and boyyy he did not disappoint! I think it's seriously cool how he's an assassin who is basically being forced to volunteer and go into the Arena! I think this is the first time I've ever seen an assassin tribute, and I'm loving it so far! The dynamic of being one anyways, combined with how Kayn feels and acts. I feel for him and his frustration and his use of self harm obviously isn't good, but that seems to be how he is coping with everything and everyone. He is a very interesting kind of character, who seems conflicted about his own worth and feels he only has use when he's killing. That will definitely make for some angst later on in the story and I'm so hyped for angst, I live for it in SYOT's! Overall, a pretty cool character who I'm hyped to see more of and how his development goes!

I didn't know what to expect from the District 14 tributes since I've only been reading the world building and MZ but I liked Edmund and his selflessness. He's willing to volunteer and die for someone he doesn't even know, to give them a second chance at life, rather than himself! That takes a lot of courage, and a lot of guts to even think about doing something like that. I can see why his dad would be against it though, it's his son after all, the last thing he wants is to see him get killed but sometimes, there's no way of getting through to people once they've decided what they want to do. Edmund seems like a nice kind of dude, he's someone who is observant too, judging what he noticed about Izzy and the street art! I like him so far, I'm not too sure how much exactly but as we see more of him, we'll find out!

Hi Marie! Here’s your spoiler buddy, ready for reviewing. Why is the chapter name ‘Traumatized’- I am fear, is this going to make me sad. Marie, why do you write to make me sad this is not fair.

Azaelaaaa: District 11, already a bias for me. She seems so sweet, right off the bat! The imagery in the first few lines is totally on point, and they give me very soft, airy vibes; like she’s a complete optimist, always happy and has a smile on her face. The line about the old song her mother used to sing is so beautiful, it brings a deep and sentimental feeling
Dandelion, Malia, Marigold, Plum- I’m loving the whole flower theme going on, it's amazing! Kind of ties together the tributes with a unified vibe.
‘But stops, seeing the giddy looks on her sibling’s faces’- awww, wholesome bean! She’s one of those people who care for her siblings to no end, would do anything for them. I can feel myself getting attached to her already, baby :(

Lexussss: You've spoken a lot to me about this kid! Okay ooh Capitol hovercraft and adventurous spirit, this looks much interesting. I see you changed the POV for two lines after the middle paragraph and idk if that's a mistake or if you meant to do it, but I liked it, even though it threw me off a little.
Have I told you how much I adore your writing? I really love the way you incorporate tiny details into every paragraph, getting the reader legit *into* the scene you’re writing.
OH OH OH ESCAPE? ESCAPE? OMG INTERESTING WAIT OOH OOH CLIFFHANGER, SPRINKLED MENTION OF AN ADVENTURE THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED/WILL HAPPEN I AM INVESTED.
I really liked the dynamic Cori and Lexus have going on, she seems like a happy, jolly kiddo. I’m eager to see how she develops through the Games and I actually like her!

Phoenix: Oh no. Oh no. Lord. Broken parents, broken home, turning to drinks for refuge oh gosh oh gosh no sad boi incoming I am bracing myself jhdjfgdhsj. Oh he’s looking to go into the Games for redemption, I expected that *nods*. Awwww he has a sister and she has a nickname for him, I stan. Nix is such a sweet nickname too. Oh, oh no, sibling trouble. I don’t know who to blame this fight on, Aurora’s annoying personality or Phoenix’s anger and drinking. I have a feeling that Aurora actually cares? But idk, I might be wrong.

Oxanna: Why is every tribute set on hurting me? I can *sense* the tension between the twins. What I like about this is that it isn’t the typical ‘twins-understand-each-other-all-the-time’ trope. Its really important to actually say that there are times when even twins, who are said to have the strongest of relationships, can fall apart sometimes.
I feel so bad for Oxanna, she’s just trying to help. It’s like she's going to be trapped no matter what she does, and I can see her beating herself down for it. Klyeme isn’t helping matters much either, she’s being difficult. Which, again, is understood. I know how hard it is to have an opportunity that you’ve worked so hard for, snatched from you. Oxanna seems like she has heavy emotional scars and they might affect her during the Games, and she might do something out of spite or (the complete opposite), for Klyeme. I’m intrigued!
You did this chapter so well! I can’t wait to read the next intros, I promise I will get to them soon! You go girl!

Until next time,
Trish.

wellz: hello again! hi to warp as well, especially since he's jocelyn's ally now. omg wait what if wells and blue ally, that would be iconic. but anyway... the way these two protect each other, i love it sm. i believe wells is the more brawny of the two and warp is the brainy one, and i think that definitely showed (especially in contrast with what i already know). i enjoy warp so i'm already deciding that i will enjoy wells.

evadne: cool name! and what a total sweetie. also, an artiste! she and asteria should collab or something. i know the mediums are different but imagine how crazy that would be. (also, maybe for next time, maybe a tw/cw for eds? just since it's such a sensitive subject yk) but anyway she is lovely and she deserves so much better than the games, this one will def make me upset.

kayn: oh boy, here we go. no kayn no pain. let's see, so we have an assassin, and an edgy one at that. i lowkey laughed when he called certain blades too dramatic bc sir you are the most dramatic edgelord i've seen in a while. not to downplay some of the other stuff happening here- it's honestly very concerning- but the man clearly has a flair for the dramatique. i think he will be an interesting one. he and anna should team up.

edmund: and back to wholesomeness! the way we went from "better to be feared than loved" to "i just want others to be happy" lol. and training academies in d14, that's cool! i think it really makes sense for d14 given all the shit they've dealt with. and this was a peek at izora, who i also enjoyed. honestly i rly liked this duo but especially edmund, he's clearly a total sweetie.

and i'm *finally* caught up! great to be here, thanks for having me. these reviews are long overdue so i hope you enjoyed them. overall mz has been so fun so far and you are doing a great job. see you next time marie!
6/9 c8 rising-balloons
soren: fun fact i have a kid named soren, he is an utter asshole. this soren seems much nicer, thankfully. and i have a theory that the criminal is his dp that i feel pretty good about. i think you did a good job of implying several traits of his (anxious, hesitant, investigative) but i want to learn more, i still have several questions.

arnau: this is joe's kid right? in any case, he's so wholesome. and he likes horses, i bet he and cal will get along splendidly. horse kids unite! i don't have a ton to say about him either, but i think he's lovely and i will enjoy him quite a bit.

lapis: she's fun! clearly a good negotiator and observant. a jeweler with a robin hood complex, that's a fun idea. i'm interested to see where she goes more than anything. i think she has a lot of potential to do well. she has a very strong sense of justice too, which can be a double-edged sword.

anna: blue's dp! from the first four sentences i can already tell that they are as radically different as i was expecting. holy shit girl humans are not for hunting, at least outside of the games anyway. anna this is terrifying, pls stop this. i guess you're very prepared, but this is not ok. also, that bit about her emotions being dead BC she doesn't care... sis i call bs. i think you very much care and are in a state of denial. and murder is not a good coping mechanism for grief. apparently i have a lot of Thoughts about anna but i overall like her, i think she's got some fun depth that can be explored later on.

almost there!
6/9 c7 rising-balloons
asteria: another one with much hype. and... i like her! a musician with deeply-set bloodlust. but also, some regret? i wonder how well she'll handle killing in the arena, i could see it going both ways. that scene of her killing her sister was brutal, sis snapped like fr. she will be a fun one, no doubt.

tal: wholesome sibling interactionnnnn i'm living. that was so sweet. and then that turn to gang things... not uncommon for d6, but i like the spin his submitter has put on it. i don't have a ton to say other than i dig his concept and also love him. i will be upset if/when he dies, calling it now.

cal: raf's kid, hello ma'am. and oh shit we're starting with deep thoughts aren't we. i am not surprised that you wanted to write this zodiac-obsessed horse girl, she seems right up your alley. and oh wait she fell down! i've fallen off horses many times and can confirm: ouch. she seems nice enough.

viva: our last career girl! wait wtf she's 14, how did i not notice that before. yeah she's def impatient. this convo would be wholesome if they weren't literally plotting a murder. i am very concerned about this 14-year-old career girl, i don't think things will go well for her. in fact i am very confident she will die.

must... keep... going...
6/9 c6 rising-balloons
laurent: this is another one where, more than oxanna, i'm like dude why are you even volunteering? the case he made to his sister was quite solid, and he doesn't even like training. i am confusion. i can get behind reluctant careers, but this one just seems too reluctant. he needs to examine his priorities. other than the ones about his sister, bc those seem pretty solid. he's a mixed bag for me.

BLUE! my bean! my bee-taming bean! not sure what's going on with that fam, and it does overshadow blue a little bit, but otherwise i think this was a terrific job. good intro to blue and what they stand for: bees. ugh what a sweetie, they deserve so much better than the games. i am evil.

tess: oh i liked this one. it's very vivid, and strongly implies tess is one of those ppl who appears calm but has a shit ton going on underneath. i want the tea of her and her ex-gf and why she feels she needs to hide her real self. also, who *is* the real tess? you have left me with questions in a good way. also, throwback to when every other d8 kid's name was calico.

arobyn: first of all sir you are from d3 not d1, that confused me for a bit. second of all, i think this one will hurt me. living vicariously through ya, how dare you call me out like this. i think you portrayed that part of him well, where he's so into the story and then won't climb out the window.

these are getting better and better! the review train continues...
6/9 c5 rising-balloons
azalea: okay, she's a total sweetie. love her sm. definitely on the quiet side, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. i think that's why she seemed to get a little lost at the end- she wasn't participating in the conversation as much. i'm interested to learn more about her.

lexus: oooh, an aviator! a spacey one, but also seems like a sweetie. she seems more independent than azalea. also i want to know more about this escape she keeps thinking about. finally, looks like we've got a connection to her dp, so that's fun!

phoenix: and now we meet an edgy boy entirely different from our first two. phoenix, my good sir, i think your sister actually *does* care about you. but i really, really enjoyed his thoughts about training. that bit about feeling powerful, as well as being treated like a machine... so far this is my fave intro, you nailed this one.

oxanna: have heard much hype about you! this girl is too nice to volunteer wtf. and it doesn't even seem like she wants to? i guess the opportunity is just too good to give up, or maybe she feels pressured. also i cannot tell how long her sis has been injured- the convo makes it seem recent, but she also knows all the nurses' names by heart. hmmm i am very interested by oxanna, clearly have lots of questions, so i'm excited to see more of her.

first four done! stay tuned for more reviews in a min

I really liked Soren's POV, it started off interesting with the mention of his crushes murder, something you don't see or read about too often, usually it might be a family member or a close friend! Soren seems like a quite down to earth kind of guy, and I like the fact that he is trying his best to look at the murder through the eye of a detective! Keaton seems like a nice kind of friend, someone who tries to push Soren to do the right thing, by trying to figure out who exactly murdered his crush. I thought the burning house and the chase scene were really cool, the burning house didn't make the two think too much into until they got closer, and then the chase scene following it was intense, I loved it! Plus the mystery of who the woman who started the fire is such a fun little cliffhanger to leave us on!

Arnau seems like a really chill and relaxed dude, I got that kind of vibe off him throughout the entire POV. He is a country boy, who loves Cocoa Puff and his family, he really seems like such a lovely guy, it's a pity that he gets Reaped, or I'm assuming so anyways! I loved the relationship between Aya and him, it is so wholesome and pure, and he got her a paintbrush, that just makes it even more cute!Overall, he is a really sweet kinda guy, I think he'll definitely either ally with someone similar to him or with a younger tribute that reminds him of Aya, but that's just me trying to predict things!

Lapis is a rebel, huh? That's certainly a bet interesting character to have, but what I liked even more about her is that it wasn't her entire character, she did other things besides that, like stealing from the more wealthy in the District, running a gem shop, stuff like that really helps build up a really good character, and I really like her so far! I like her personality and her backstory, it doesn't stand out in a Mary Sue way, she doesn't look for pity with the fact that her parents struggle with alcohol and drug abuse, she tries her best to carry on and do what's necessary! I talk myself at times too, so that just made her even more relatable to me, but yeah, overall, I'm really like Lapis so far!

Damn, Anna was definitely not what I was expecting her to be like at all! When she mentioned being a huntress, I thought it would be more so like Katniss, a hunter looking for food and trying to survive with her family but boy, was I completely wrong there! I haven't seen many tributes like her honestly and while the killing was gruesome, she will definitely make for a very interesting character in the Arena, even before then! She seems to have no problem killing people so the Hunger Games must be a living dream for her, though the chance of dying isn't super helpful lol. Either way, I really liked her POV and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on her as the story progresses, she's definitely going to be a competitor for Victor, I think, but that might just be because she has now experience with killing!

Hello! I'm back, and happy birthday! Okay now back to the review and drumrolls please, let's begin.

Wells: Wells, Wade, wait a minute, this is the SAS... oh, I get it now. Ah, I see, very clever there from Goldie, what an iconic move to send both twins to the arena in two different stories. If only we could do the same for clones of Ciara so she can be dumped into a volcano multiple times. Ah well. Anywho, I like him, he seems like a nice kid who ain't afraid of stealing people's kneecaps to protect others, his vibe is great and he's one to root for because he's just so sweet and must be protected (but not at the cost of Calista and Evadne's lives pls)

Evadne: I LOVE IT. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS. You completely blew my expectations off the roof like a Ciara volcano, the descriptions, the imagery, the vibes, EVERYTHING WAS FANTASTIC.

Kayn: Assassin, hmmm yes this definitely is a Rune tribute alright. AH, the dark, edgelord vibes and the self-hatred, oh dear me. I am definitely interested, he seems like one who'll go far, or maybe the self-hatred could be a stumbling block? I love his intro, and while I don't love Kayn, I have ten thousand eyes on him, in case he comes for my kids. Why do I have ten thousand eyes, you might ask? Uhm, well... Moving on!

Edmund: He's friends with Izzy! Yay! I love tribute connections! I absolutely *edore* Edmund! Alright that was bad ima see myself out whoops. At any rate, he just wants others to be happy and is so precious, why do I love all of these kids stop imma cry when they all die. And he's a little sad but still, his friendship with Izzy is so wonderful and ahhh- I love this.

Great chapter, keep it up, you're doing absolutely amazing! Oh, and happy birthday! Whee!

Intros #5:

Wells.
* Him and his brother’s dynamic is so sweet.
* The way there is (1) mention of District Fourteen and my eyes light up… that is not okay at all.
* At least he has a good heart— PLEASE, and then he just punches them for trying to lay hand on his brother? He’s very protective. Sweet of him tbh. That definitely shot him up the rankings for me.

Evande.
* Aw, her just trying to keep her friends’ spirits up is sweet of her.
* Painting! That’s so good.
* She’s just so encouraging and that friend who everyone wants around, you know?
* “The days upon days of purging that haunted her past like a house full of ghouls.” That’s really good imagery, and really so painful.

Kayn.
* Oh boy, love the assassin lore right away. Like, hell yes, give me all the wild kids.
* “The only thing he is sure of is just how much punishment his own soul deserves.” This guy is just internal angst incarnate. :(
* He’s just so edgy and broody help…
* Kayn’s definitely going to bring some spice to the Arena, that’s for sure.

Edmund.
* Hiiiiii baby boy that’s not mine but I’ve basically adopted him and what of it?
* Stop, he’s too good for the world help.
* His own conflict with the Savior Program was just perfectly done… goshhh.
* “How ironic for a boy to die in the exact thing his father built to protect him—“ STOP IT, THIS IS JUST TOO SAD. So well done but holy shit. I’m so :( this poor boy.
* HI IZZY!
* Please, I love her so much… her energy is so good.
* And then Izzy’s father’s bracelet… that is beyond sad. But she’s just so cheerful through it all and gah. My heart hurts.
* AND THEN THE STREET ART AND THE FLAMES GOSH THAT WAS WONDERFUL. “Street art always seems to bleed right from this canister, an SOS of emotions too vivid for words.” What a brilliant, brilliant line.
* I just… wow. I’m so speechless. You did them so perfectly, Marie! Thank you so much for writing them.

And that’s it for today! Man, I’ve spent… two and a half hours, almost, reviewing? Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed some of my thoughts! Have a wonderful birthday. (:

Soren.
* Oooh, so he’s figuring out the murder of his dead crush. I love that already.
* Oh shit, fire… hey Tia’s kid.
* So he’s after our local pyromaniac! SMH, can’t you just let her live? Pyromaniac lives are important okay. Don’t do her dirty like that. :(

Arnau.
* Hello, are you a Joseph child?
* Like… has to be, right.
* I just checked, yep he is! Why did I even bother to check tbh.
* Oh hello Othniel! I did not expect to see you here! I wonder who’s gonna show up next.
* Aw, he can read the sun! That’s a cool skill.
* And just him and his family are just very sweet.

Lapis!
* Oh, just the insight into the District 12 imbalance is just… depressing.
* And she just wants to help out! Awh. :(
* She has a thieving business too! That’s so cool of her. Argentella vibes.

Anna.
* Oh shit she’s a HUNTRESS. I’m listening hard.
* Please, holy shit, she’s a huntress-murderer. I love that for her. Reminds me of a real-life serial killer? I can’t remember the name now, but yeah. Those vibes.
* She’s so annoyed that he’s sloppy LMFAO I adore her.
* And she’s become mythology! Fuck off, I love her so much.
* “No one tries to outsmart the girl of the woods.” I love the fantastical, myth-like vibes of this sentence. Just so brilliant.
* She really said stab… I love her.
