for Ranma Sticks Around

Doggone it! Just the sheer joy of seeing the walls between them lower, then crumble to dust has me sobbing like an idiot. I'm holding it against you, lol.
Great story!

Okay, as you said, you don't need to have read "Ranma Takes a Trip" to understand this, but I think that story does make this one a little deeper. As I said in my review, I got the feeling Ranma was trying to come to terms with his female side a little better, and so it makes sense that if that was what was holding him back with Akane, then he would feel that he could stay. And Akane, of course, would not understand why he is staying because of course those two just can't talk to each other. :D

This definitely does a good job of resolving the conflict and showing the two growing a little. I agree with you - and Akane - that they still have a long way to go, and probably they will ALWAYS be Ranma and Akane and thus will always have misunderstandings and arguments. But then Ranma would probably argue that the struggle is exciting. They both love a challenge, after all, and a boring relationship would get tedious for them.

So thanks for sharing this story. Honestly I think the saddest part is that it took them so long to come to this point, that Ranma felt he had to "flit" in and out of Akane's life until he came to terms with his curse. You'd think Akane would be more forceful about wanting to go along with him, but then, she has things she wants to do with her life, too. There are going to be times when they have different plans that just don't sync up.
