i dont know if it will work, but for me ferry asteroid to orbit around planets and use them as space bunkers is not a bad idea for me

After the hype of first chapter, I thought maybe this would be a good and more 'realistic' Halo story than others. It still could be, but you just sped through it all.
From Cole's death (which by the way was meaningless as it would be strategically null for Humanity as a whole to lose a leader this early. Cole could have had either Rear Admiral Zhao -if still assigned to Cole's fleet- or John Senior be the bait if it had to be an Admiral) to Stanforth being an Admiral... the guy is 42 at the time of chapter 4, yet outranks himself in canon as he is still a Vice Admiral at the time of his death during The Fall of Reach in 2552.
...
I get it that this is an AU, but this much canon divergence or simply disregard of, Can and Will scare the reader away.
For example,
1- Charon-class light frigates, is a ship designed for Expeditionary Land Warfare Support and Fleet Escort duties (thus the expanded cargo hold and troop capacity). And on another note, the main gun on Charon, Mark II light coil 83B6R3 MAC is not shared with any other vessel. It CANNOT be shared with other vessels. Simply because it is a proprietary to Charon-class and due to size, mass and defenses against the EMP release of the MAC, it cannot be implemented into any other vessel without the said vessel needing to undergo extensive refits...

2- Stalwart-class light frigates (which by the way entered service by at least 2526 as they are listed in Human-Covenant war and Post-War Eras) are designed with Planetary Defense in mind, with a lower priorities for Fleet Escort and Support as well as Troop Transportation. They were considered well-armed for a Frigate. Contrary to your belief, a modified Mark II light coil 56A2D4 MAC originally native to the frame of the Stalwart-class was fitted into UNSC Pillar of Autumn during the refit for Operation RED_FLAG, which instead of 1 round per charge, could fire 3 rounds with the same power, essentially it was more powerful due to the Cruiser having more power to charge the MAC.

3- Paris-class heavy frigates however were new. until the late 25th century, the UNSC had no Heavy Frigate as they were considered a 'gross misuse of the UNSC's funding' and due to this, they only started wide-spread service throughout the Human-Covenant War and after. their primary duty is Escort of Capital ships, which mean they are meant to face frontline combat, and to a lesser extent Atmospheric Fire Support (like Grafton and Saratoga during the Battle at Szurdok Ridge, Viery, Reach)

I don't know what you have against Epoch-class, but if you read the page about Epoch on Halopedia then you would know that Fighters and Interceptors too large to be fitted within the hull are docked on the exterior of the hull. And the reason why carriers -aside from Supercarriers- utilize light MACs, is because they are NOT expected to directly engage enemies, but rather use Space Fighters and Strike Crafts to attack targets at a distance. Simple tactics, we ourselves have used such tactics from WW2 upward.

a note regarding the performance of the Orion-class. How do you expect an Assault Carrier, carrying 1 MEB as well as 1 battalion of ODST and support forces for both Space and Atmospheric Command and Control, utilize 2 Heavy MACs? you can't just throw in numbers and call something Heavy MAC because you thought it would be good. because in realistic terms, it wouldn't be. Assault Carrier for Humans and Covenant has 2 different meanings.

Humans: go look at Amphibious assault ships currently employed in Navies around the globe. they transport a MEU and its support forces and virtually nothing else. It is not expected to go in toe to toe with warships of any kind, but can do so with support from its onboard complement of assets dedicated to MEU, even then, it would be a long-range air-to-surface combat.

Covenant: due to their history and Sangheili's influence in warfare, almost all warships in Covenant are capable of direct confrontation, CAS-class included. And as seen with their employment of swarm fighters and reliance on direct and coordinated fire and lack of missiles or torpedo systems for their Space Fighters, shows that despite being advanced, they are lacking in terms of Tactical knowledge of How to employ their fighters and Carrier-based strike crafts. to them, Fighters are maneuverable and fast Gunships.
...
About the entirety of the Carriers and Battleships you created.

Harvest-class: How do you expect to fit 1 full division 1 ODST battalion 250-craft sized Combat Air Wing 95 Tactical Aerospace lifters 20 D20 Herons 2 Wings of support forces inside a cramp space of measly 2.8 kilometers AND have the said 2.8 kilometer carrier be equipped with a Super-MAC all the while sporting only 50 centimeters of Titanium-A... the power requirement for the Super-MAC, the internal shock of each firing of the said Super-MAC as well as the EMP effects of the said Super-MAC would destroy the carrier without the Covenant needing to do so.

Endurance-class: Seriously? the UNSC Infinity took 15 years just to develop its engine module... and from 2544 to 2553 to build (in secret) just how can UNSC/ONI or whatever, develop a 4.5 kilometer battleship, test the technology and then construct the vessel that has 2 meters of Titanium-A2, 80 centimeters of Tungsten alloy, 40 centimeters of 'Heat-dissipant copper-based alloy', 20 centimeters of Chobham novo composite materiel (which is used for tanks and aerial vehicles) and then test the vessel all in what? 3 years since the start of the War? and only a skeleton crew of 100 people? even the Covenant assigned more crew to their ORS-heavy cruiser, which had Forerunner technology incorporated in it.
...
now unto the problem with Longsword... you say Longsword is ineffective. the C709 variant while designed as heavy strike craft in space, is capable of combat in Atmosphere as depicted in Halo: Reach, Halo 3. And the more advanced and nimble C712 variant is capable of effectively operating in both atmosphere and space at equal capacity. There is a reason why they are so popular within UNSC.
...
I really don't know why, but you seem to be creating a CODEX within the story which is bad. you could have created a new fanfic and posted the same thing in there, albeit with more detail as you were not restricted with writing Stanforth's conversation and possibly creating a personality for the character. (example: see Logical Premise, Systems Alliance Order of Battle)

I also noticed that you mentioned 'PEM' in several instances. After re-reading the lines I noticed that you actually meant EMP: Electromagnetic Pulse.

previously, you used the the very short distance of several hundred kilometers for Space-side engagements, which is just unreal. In today's warfare, average distance between aerial combatants is dozens of kilometers, rarely a dozen or less kilometers, and for long-range Air-to-Ground strikes hundreds of kilometers. (see 'Command: Modern Operations' on PC for more detail regarding aerial and surface combat.)

In space due to lack of traction, save the Gravity, projectiles and missiles can go on forever. as the average speed of a low-powered canon MAC round is approx. 30Km/s. One can fire upon an unsuspecting vessel from hundreds of thousands of kilometers away and the target most likely wont be able to successfully dodge the projectile, because while the attacker can be located due to energy release of the MAC, the projectile itself is cold and without radiation (standard slugs).

I've been writing this for the past 2 hours, coming back to check spelling, grammar and spaces...
English is not my primary language, so...

Where’s the stats on the ground based stuff? Why don’t the new ships have proper UNSC armour? (medium to heavy titanium alloy* armour. Look at the wiki stats for the canon ship’s armour.)

Wouldn’t the frigate have a Paris classes MAC? Also why need ECM (Electronic warfare) ship variants when smart AI’s are enough?

Also I think your understating/underestimating the covenants ship armour.

M41* not M44.

The tiny gun is only one of the flaws that would make a Scorpion tank completely impractical. Some improvements would make it a decent rapid-response light MBT though, especially if it's firing depleted uranium APFSDS rounds instead of HEAT rounds (IRL APFSDS rounds turn tank crews into red mist). As for ATGMs and MANPADs, anyone saying they are outdated Cold War tech should really think for a moment. A FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile would be damn effective against wraiths as a long-range AT weapon. And holy crap is the M44 rocket launcher impractical for normal soldiers. You'd be better off giving them disposable one-shot recoilless rifles and rocket launchers firing the same giant missile or rocket. Using them against space ships is a dumb idea though. Also you'd think the rotary AA guns the UNSC has would either fire faster, rotate and track targets faster, or use 30mm rounds instead of 20mm rounds. Shutout to Cooldude101011 and the great points he's made.

I really like this story so far! Keep it up!

UNSCA? Also grammar, spelling, formatting and a few other things need some work. Still good concept and I agree that the UNSC Marine Corps (UNSCMC?) isn’t fit/suitable for the role of main ground/surface military force. The Marine Corps role is practically identical to IRL Marine Corps’s such as the USMC.

The UNSCMC is a light, fast, quick response unit that also doubles as ship/station security but it is just not suited to large scale, long term battles and wars. The battle of the Ark being mostly marines makes sense as the objectives had to be completed very quickly and there wasn’t enough time for the army to deploy.

The Scorpion makes sense as a UNSCMC vehicle as of course the UNSCMC would want a vehicle small enough to be carried by pelicans, is fast, has enough punch, etc.

MBTs are basically suped up medium tanks so a marine corps tank would probably be a light tank or in modern terms a LMBT (Light Main Battle Tank)

Here’s my version of the scorpion.

Class: LMBT (Light Main Battle Tank)
Armament: 90mm cannon autoloader with coaxial machine gun
Weight: around 30 to 40 tons (metric?)
Crew: commander/gunner in the hull and driver/engineer in the hull
Top speed: at least 60 to 70kph
Armour/survivability: unknown
Fuel/travel Range: unknown but at least 250km at 60kph
Propulsion: unknown but has 2 tracks
Role: fast response armoured vehicle for infantry support and blitzkrieg
Users: UNSCMC (United Nations Space Command Marine Corps)

What do you think? So was that public execution faked? Is Hood manipulated or forced to do things? Is the original real copy of the Cole Protocol written by Cole actually being used or has it been taken and manipulated?

Those ranges are way too short. Remember this is space and combat distances are much longer/further. Also why would anyone in 24/25xx even use old WW2/Cold War tech? Even our current tech IRL is outdated and obsolete compared to the Halo Universe during the H/C war.

Also I doubt a anti tank missile from the Cold War would even dent the armour or shields of a Covenant corvette. Also I’m pretty sure those ATGMs don’t have the range to reach space.

The Charon class is a light frigate and not a light cruiser.

There are quite a few errors so I suggest you ask a few authors like “Evevee” and “LegoDoc” for help. Evevee makes the great fic “On the Illusion of Might” while LegoDoc makes “Council vs Republic Redux”. Both are crossovers

Dude you need to check your grammar and spelling on this chapter. I like your story, but it's really hard to read.

The ammo decision for the MA assault rifle seems pretty silly. I do like the UNSC going for a more practical tank design, as well as bringing back lock-on anti-tank and anti-air missiles that the Covenant forces have no countermeasures against. Some of the civilian-related stuff seems a little extreme. Also there are a few typos in this chapter.

I also Agree with Zoltan-Atreyu. Although I will say that i don't like Section 2 lying to general public about the state of the war, Section 1 did help tremendously with information gathering for Navy about Covenant fleet positions. Section 3 was the evil one, as most of their projects started with the deluded goal of Humanity's survival.
Spartans were not really necessary if UNSC just upgraded ODSTs equipment. I get that they were more numerous and probably more costly in the long run, but then UNSC would have a very large contingent of Special Forces capable of performing at the very least at 30-35 percent of SPARTAN-IVs.
I think Bungie and 343 wanted us to feel special playing as a Super-Soldier.

Overall, one of the more realistic fanfics for Halo.

very Curious about were this is gonna go. I do Recommend you try and not go the villainous route for ONI. While distasteful they are instrumental in helping humanity survive.
