Also, your description for this story, LOL! It's hilarious and had me hooked from the start too!

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this fic! I love the concept of this, and you're really good at world-building and developing characters' personalities. You did a really good job of differentiating Atticus, Jack, and Alexandra's personalities through their interactions as siblings. I LOVE the way you characterized Jean, cause then suddenly Jem and especially Scout's rowdy behavior makes sense ;P And it's interesting to read from Atticus's POV, and what he thinks about Jean, especially since he's younger here than in the book. That conversation between Atticus and Jean on her views on marriage is lovely foreshadowing too, since we know that they presumably get married later on. Also- I found it really amusing how Jack and Jean's personalities kind of clicked before Atticus and Jean's do (hmm maybe Atticus gets a wee bit jealous, lol). Overall, it's just obvious that you put a lot of though into writing this, and it shows, cause your writing is super well-written and fun to read! Anyways, I'll probably end right here, just cause i probably sound like I'm writing an essay (but seriously, I'm that thrilled by your writing ahah). I'd love to read more of this, so please update soon :)

Oh, I love this story so much! It's been a while since I've read a TKAM fanfiction, but my favorite ones to read have always been Atticus and Jean love stories. I love the slow burn between them, how you can just tell that Atticus cares for her even if he doesn't know it yet. And in the last chapter, when Jean told Atticus she'd never get married... ah, just you wait, Graham, you won't be saying that for long.

I really hope you continue this story! It's so amazing and well written and I can't wait to see what happens between Jean and Jack and Jean and Atticus! 3

I love the way you show how Atticus and Jean share a sense of humour. It’s funny in hindsight how Scout thought Atticus was a ‘stick in the mud’ essentially and his kids thought he was too boring, when he clearly has a sense of humour throughout the canon book and the events of your fanfic.

It’s sad to see the rift between Alexandra and her siblings, honestly. I’m part of a group of siblings and I can’t imagine not getting along with any of them over ‘manners’. We have too much fun.

It’s always strange reading all these characters not interacting without Scout and Jem in anything to do with the development of Atticus and Jean’s relationship, but you’re making them so in character that I believe this happened before the events of the book. Everyone’s exactly how I’d imagine they were like when they were younger - I also always love seeing Jack and Maudie teasing each other.

Great chapter!

You're so good at crafting exchanges with impeccable charm. The charisma in both of the characters shines through perfectly (I love that Atticus continues the talk about his secret sons), as does their massive capacity for caring. The story of how Jean got her black eye could have come straight from the original novel, but here, it makes an already sympathetic character that much more realized and easy to root for. Good work.

Awww, that was a sweet thing of Atticus to do! I expected nothing less of Alexandra and I'm proud of Atticus for standing his ground and sticking up for Jean. She deserves someone who will do that for her.

Welcome back, by the way!

You know, I could go off on a long review about this or that, your strong characterization of Attacus and Jean to the point that they might as well be right in front of me or the way you manage to perfectly capture the insular community of Maycomb in all its gossipy and prejudiced glory... But really, all I have to say is that I didn't realize just how much I missed this until it landed in my inbox. It's such a breath of fresh air to read your ideas and your prose again

Urgh I am just SO in love with Jean! She's so sassy and full of life and I just knew she and Maudie would get along so well. It's great to see how quickly she and Atticus became friends, so there's obviously some connection there already. After reading her little interaction with Alexandra I really cannot wait for her and Atticus to get together! Alexandra's reaction is going to be brilliant!

I'm glad to see Jean and Maudie are getting along well. From Stephanie, to Rachel, to Alexandra, their reactions to Jean are pretty perfect. I found it hilarious that Jean at first thought Alexandra was Atticus' wife!

"I'm shit at math." Jean, honey, me too. I really love this Jean (I mean obviously I love ALL your Jean's but this one might be my favourite). She's so FIESTY but despite that it's still easy to see a vulnerable side to her. I actually cannot wait for her to meet Maudie because I think the two of them together is going to be the best thing ever, and obviously of course excited to see how she ends up falling for Atticus! Love it!

It's exciting to see Atticus and Jean sharing some common ground. I am in love with the fact that Jean is going to be Jean and she doesn't give a damn.
