for Where I Belong (Esthar Chronicles 3)

I wonder how friendly the people are going to be towards an "outsider." She's so far away from the familiar. It probably all feels like a dream.

And how did any of them wind up in Centra?

I wonder if this town is going to have a weird Twin Peaks feel to it. Or at least something strange.

Ah! I was hoping you would continue this :D

I was intrigued to learn more about Selphie’s family history from the opening chapter last year, so this chapter definitely didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the description of the photo (and I understood the way she wasn’t ready to see it at first. I like the way she cracked her eyes open one by one!)
So sad, though. 28 and 27… they died so very young :( And the loss of a brother is brutal, too. I am secretly hoping there may be more to tell there.
I like the mining setting very much, I always love seeing mining communities depicted in fantasy (I love Narshe in FFVI, it always felt very atmospheric). I like the tidbit about Luzia having worked in the mine from a young age. It sounds like life was hard in Mosden.
Also - underground train! Awesome indeed. I’m glad for the gift of the blue notebook. It seems like Selphie’s going to have a lot of Important Feelings that’ll be going in there. I'm looking forward to seeing what she finds in Mosden!

This story is off to a great start! A big emotional punch already in the first chapter.

Selphie and airships are such a natural fit, it’s great to imagine her enjoying her postgame life as an airship mechanic.

I loved the scene of Selphie walking through O-lab wearing the crown, and people's reactions to it.

Then the bombshell revelation at the end. I’ve always wished we could find out about the biological families of the cast members other than Squall and Rinoa. It looks like Selphie is going to go through a rollercoaster of emotions in this story. Poor, poor Selphie, all the loss she has already experienced is coming back at her ten-fold. Can’t wait to see how it develops!

I haven’t read the previous two fics in your Esthar Chronicles, so I’d better go back and find out why Irvine is unconscious. (I still found it completely readable without any prior knowledge of the other stories, however!)

Selphie backstory! This is interesting. Sometimes I've read about Selphie's foster family, but I don't remember reading about her biological family. It's fun to imagine where they all originally came from. And it will be interesting to see how Selphie processes this information. Looking forward to more.

I really like the start you have made here and look forward to seeing where it leads, also like the way the previous two stories are incorporated into it
