Good to see Kahn came through, and Michael now has a more comfortable place to transform than a storage locker. (Speaking of Kahn, when Selene was comparing Kraven and Cal in the previous chapter, her line about how Kraven wouldn't hesitate to act against her friends if it would put her in his power has me wondering if that was a hint that he'll try to get to her through Kahn later in the story, or was it just a general observation on Kraven's sliminess? I forgot to mention that in my other review, sorry.)
Back to this chapter, I liked how it showed Michael's thoughts on where things stand between the two of them and where they might be headed; it formed a nice counterpoint to how the last chapter focused on Selene realizing that Michael has caused her to think of someday having a life beyond the hunt. Meanwhile, Michael is realizing that, while the loss of Sam still hurts, he's managed to form an emotional attachment to someone else and is even considering the possibility of more than friendship.
Of course, they still have a ways to go - Michael still doesn't know that much about Selene, thanks in part to her reluctance to explain exactly how old she is, and I'm not sure if either of them are ready to actually make a move toward deepening their relationship yet - but it's a definite step in the right direction. Now that they have this safehouse, though, I'm wondering how long they can stay under the radar, or if this will somehow lead to them being discovered. And Lucian's still out there, presumably still searching for the last descendant of Corvinus...
Good chapter, and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Surely there's a flaw to using the safehouse; what if one of the Death Dealers stumble upon it by accident, and discover Michael and kill him before reporting to Kahn?

Merry Christmas.

Good chapter; the idea of Michael and Selene watching a movie together might seem deceptively simple, but you used it very effectively, first giving her a reason to be interested since she knows someone who was actually on the Titanic (it's funny to think she was around when the sinking was headline news, even if she didn't want to weird Michael out by mentioning that - I imagine his reaction would've been similar to how he reacted in Evolution to the suggestion of looking up Tanis, who was exiled 300 years ago...by Selene), while Michael wanted to watch it as a way of remembering Sam.
Once you got into it, there were a surprising number of parallels between Rose and Selene I'd never thought of before - both were stuck in their own kind of rut, even if Selene didn't chafe at hers the way Rose did, and both had to endure the unwanted attentions of arrogant, unpleasant, morally challenged suitors who felt entitled to have them (though Selene was lucky that Kraven wasn't really in a position to try forcing himself on her thanks to her being favored by Viktor...and the fact that she'd kick his butt if he pushed her too far). Then they both met a guy who broadened their horizons beyond what they would ever have imagined for themselves, and it was rather touching to see Selene realizing that and speculating about what Michael could possibly be to her when she found herself pondering for the first time what she might do when her vendetta against the lycans is finally finished.
All in all, some solid development for Selene and the relationship wrapped up in an unexpected frame - good job. ...And I see you've updated again, which I'll R&R soon. You're just too fast for me. In the meantime, Merry Christmas!

This was rather domestic and nice. Happy holidays!

A nice moment between Selene and Michael. I feel kind of bad for Michael because he wants to at least put on the table his feelings for Selene but he doesn't know how she'll react. If only he knew what was going on in her head. Anyway, very nice chapter. Can't wait for the next one!

I like this story. Just wondering about when in the timeline is this? Before the 1st movie?
The Mask? Love to see that reaction. Selene undwinding... always wanted to see how her and Michael was when they were not being chased, hunted, or on the run.

Well, this was rather romantic. Happy winter solstice!

That is sweet. Thanks for the update.

Although I found it kind of funny Selene finally accepted her feelings for Michael because of Titanic, it's still very touching. Found it interesting the way you presented how Michael mourned for Samantha, felt realistic and believable. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Just found this, and I have to say it's an intriguing idea; I've heard some people complain that Michael and Selene's relationship didn't get enough development in the movies and their hookup seemed to come out of nowhere (though to be fair, it's not like they had a lot of time to learn each other's favorite colors and other personal details in between fighting for their lives) so it's nice to see a story that gives them more time to get to know one another and form a more in-depth bond than what they were able to show onscreen.
The initial setup with Michael being accidentally bitten by a random lycan served as a great dramatic beginning, while his struggle to cope with the loss of Samantha and understand what he'd become helped to flesh out his character beyond the bare-bones introduction we got in the more action-oriented film.
Selene's also gotten a little more development/exploration of what's actually going on inside her head, rather than spending most of her screen time shooting at things; you've shown that she's actually very clever and methodical in the way she goes about tracking lycans and confirming they're really there before going in with guns blazing. It's good to see her being able to look past her hatred of lycans to recognize that Michael is an innocent victim and potentially useful ally, even if it did take a few weeks of observation to convince her he's not like the rest of them.
Even if it's not the story's main focus, I liked the interaction between Selene and Kahn too - I got the impression she didn't do much socializing since the only coven members we saw her interact with were Kraven (who she clearly hated) and Erika, who she seemed to regard as pretty useless, so it's good to see that she has at least one friend. I wish there'd been more moments with Kahn in the movie since he was the only one other than Michael who ever made her smile.
I look forward to seeing how things progress from here (assuming Lucian is still searching for the last descendant of Corvinus, I imagine he'll be pretty shocked to discover said descendant is already a lycan) and maybe we'll get an answer to the age-old mystery of how Kraven ever managed to hack it as a Death Dealer for any length of time, since it seems like their activities would be quite hazardous to one's hair...
I'll R&R Not-So-Average Girl soon, but I wanted to catch up on this one first and finally review. Keep up the good work!

Oh man, this is soooo good! I love how Selene is developing feelings for Michael without her even realising it. Is so adorable. I also loved Selene and Kahn's interaction, it does feel like the way they would talk to each other. Amazing work! Seriously! Keep it up!

I hope I am not the only one who looks forward to your chapters.

Definitely hoping you turn that next chapter out soon.

You have good word formation as well as minimal grammar errors. This was interesting to read through and it brought on a new point of view from Underworld. Good job!

Looks as if they made contact, and it was peaceful. Yay? Thank you for the update.

Interesting that he asked about a cure...

Glad to see that this finally came thru. Took a couple of tries, I guess.
Looking forward to more!
