for V is for Venus

I really enjoy this. It's rare for authors to write something original and yet fitting to the fandom and you write so well as well. I liked the dynamic between the two characters and how realistic it all seemed to be.

This is an excellent, bleak piece which uses the scientific discovery very interestingly. I feel you in the closing comment.

The opening of listing the nice view and then all the things that were not nice worked very well. I liked ending that part with the note that she found out later than she’d have liked that the last thing had happened to another Aerostat.

Roberta’s conflicted relationship with Dax, with her not liking him but him also only being the only human contact, was well shown.

I liked her snapping at him about Meat Mondays.

The note that she actually had seen a snake was a good touch.

Her thoughts about the indifferent public reaction to the discovery of life on Venus and the similar reaction to discovery of life on Pandora worked excellently.

Roberta hoping she’d sounded harsher than she felt was a great character moment. I really liked her not looking but listening to him leave, and her conflicting feelings about hearing him stop.

Dax’ final appeal and their lack of words after that was pretty emotional.

The ending feels tragic.

That’s a rather grim outlook. It’s a fascinating bit of news.

That said, it fits very well with with the Avatar universe. Very good, keep writing
