for Darling, Dearest, Dead

Firstly, I eat up each and every reference to the majesty that is Some Persuasion.

Peppering the chapter with diary entries was genius. You did a precise job of differentiating the style of writing between the usual narrative, and her writing “herself”.

From how well you described each dog (something I very much enjoyed, especially the blue terrier they’re so handsome), I hope they’ll be occasionally included. Especially Persephone and Razor.

I can sense a development happening with Riff Raff and Magenta and Sprite. She isn’t one to mask what she’s feeling, so this is sure to be good.

Was not expecting that ending! Not surprised there wasn’t an ad in the paper, since her flatmates seem to be gone for weeks at a time occasionally and don’t have a close bond at all. Frank likely knows this is is exploiting it to make the two weeks with no ads seem like two months without them noticing.

I was expecting the explosion, but certainly not like that, you sure surprised me! An uncertain end really keeps the reader on their toes. I might be certain that Sprite will stay, but you’ve managed to make me doubt it anyway haha! I could see Frank locking Sprite up for a month or two until she dries out. She has to at some point, I know he would keep the alcohol in the lab or a safe or something where she could never get it it. Unless she snuck in while desperate for a fix...

And now the switch has not only happened, but it turns out it’s been this way all along...Talk about obsessed! This is a very flawed Frank that I’m looking forward to seeing develop. Or un-develop? I can only see both him and Sprite going downhill, ha.

But on the upside, I get to see more Riff Raff a lot sooner which can only be great! This Riff Raff is definitely my favorite. I can’t see ANYTHING unpleasant developing later on from this early conspiracy session...

“An old worryguts like me.”

Only Frank could pull off saying something like that at his age...
I’ve been loving getting to enjoy a few chapters of “nice Frank”, because I know it could get taken away at any moment...

The only thing that would make ME feel less “vulnerable” is knowing how long mother hen Frank is going to stay around.

Good job portraying just how far someone with an addiction is willing to go to get what they “need”. I can attest to the accuracy of that. She would always feel four times as bad once she’s had what she wants, having to remember what a fool she was willing to make out of herself to get it.

I’m also horrified to think of what Frank will do later, if he continues to put this much “work” into Sprite.

Hi! I’m loving this new version, I read your old one and it was great too. Lol this is gonna sound funny, but I noticed in both versions you spelt it as ‘karma sutra’ and I thought that my spelling-obsessed self should tell you that it’s actually ‘kama sutra’. Thanks, and keep writing!

Welp. Good Person Frank was nice while he lasted...

This chapter perfectly captures a sort of “out-of-boundary Frank”, one that I imagine existed in the movie universe (since no one could go on a murder and kidnapping spree EVERY day, they would simply get too exhausted), but that we never got the chance to see.

This chapter is the sort of thing that is absolutely perfect, because how can any huge difference (no spoilers here) BE a huge difference, if you don’t have a placid meadow full of grazing deer and butterflies to compare it to?

THIS Frank, who is so kind and warm, who offers to get her a phone to call her kind friend, this is the kind of person that I would just be enthralled to see what is hiding in the magma chamber under their beautiful forest-mind. (Yellowstone reference)

I thought I would be disappointed that Riff Raff and Magenta are only voices so far, but in reality not at all. Frank’s personality fills the room so much that this was perfect.

After being in a place like Frank’s castle, who would ever go back to a cramped apartment as an orphan with no avenues in front of them? Not many. Not until, at least, it was already far too late to go.

And it begins again! Excellent. Excellent...
