I don't read as much Halo fanfiction as I used to but a short story from you is always a nice touch.
During a quick skim, spotted this little piece on Mickey and immediately understood the implications once I put 2 and 2 together with Veronica Dare in the description.
I like a lot of the in jokes from the history of Alpha-Nine, the dialogue is smarty and gets the point across. There's not really any profound lesson to be had or grand adventure to be drawn from this short but it's a good expansion on Michael Crespo's headspace and the suffering he faces personally as that one vagabond stuck on a starship with a population that knows he reeks of Innie. Not much he can do about it, so he talks about nuts, pisses people off, and rolls with the punches.
I don't think I want to fill my favorites section full of short stories from the same user because I think you do great work, so for this short I'll throw a favorite, a favorite author, and a review - I hope that suffices in the long run.
Until next time, also to 8Ball - Mickey's augmented, he's a Spartan in every way that it counts.
It's a shame Michael Crespo/Mickey doesn't appear to have a listing in the character options for the story so at the very least I appreciate you putting this one together. I really enjoyed it.
The last section about the 105th guys wandering in and picking a fight with Micky, I thought it was going to turn up with some kind of fuzzy warm of Alpha-Nine trying to make up with him but nope, it's just another group of nutcrackers looking for their piece of meat.
