Maybe you did go out on a limb, but I thought it was a great story. When Mike started talking about his girl. I thought it was a girl with two legs not one with wheels. But at the same time, who else would he think of as his girl. And when he found she was just not right since he had been gone. He had a talk with her.

Whenever Mike is front and center in a story, it automatically becomes one of my favorites. This is no exception! I really enjoyed it.
Given that Mike is always so quiet, I’m not surprised that he would sneak off by himself to the PT lab. I thought it was pretty funny that he made his bed and cleaned the bathroom before he did so tho! The eternal neatnick!
Of course, Cap knows his man and immediately knows where Mike has gone, and what he has gone to do. Cap’s idea of getting out of the hospital to see Big Red is genius. And of course, everyone is willing to help, including the other Station 51 shift.
I love the mini-brotherhood of engineers! Mark sounds like a really good guy to understand what exactly Mike needs and is more than willing to share Big Red for part of his shift.
And, now Mike is at least walking in his own again. Thanks to his crew, the Ramoart staff, and a certain Big Red.
I’m sorry that the floor nurse is going to be in trouble over not checking on Mike more. I think she is about to learn a very unpleasant lesson from Dixie and Dr. Brackett.
Great story. Totally relatable and believable.

A good story, but you had a few spelling errors

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Two of my favourite things - Mike Whump and Mike communing with Big Red.

I loved this story. I loved it was the A-Shift family coming together to help one of their own.

I love how it shoed the very presonal relatoinship Big Red shares with her Engineers - to the point where she is missing one of them (poor Baby! She needs to know her boys are OK!) and how very symbiotic that relationship is between Engineer and Engine. (BTW: She is an Engine, not a Truck. In Firefighting an Engine and a Truck are two VERY different things. Engines are Pumpers (like Big Red), whilst Trucks are the latter trucks, the tiller trucks, etc). It was great that you showed Hank wit that affinity as well, but not so much Stoney.

We already know Stoney is the Captain of another station, so if he is doing some overtime, he won't have that same affinity with Big Red (not to mention he is an ex-Paramedic).

It was wonderful to read and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

That said - it really needs a good proofread. There are a few errors in it that do pull you out of the story. You are a very good writer, and proofreading will only make your writing better. it's the pot callig the kettle black, as it's a bad failing that I have as well!

AWESOME STORY that I LOVED! Mike's station house family and a certain "lady" helped Mike get back on track for his recovery! Thanks to Kel & Dixie for letting Mike have this adventure.

I LOVE reading stories about the crew as a family, and this one is GREAT in that aspect! Thank you for this!
