I completely agree that the Logan/Mitchum relationship is so very well worth parsing. I'm so glad you're doing that in this fic - looking at our favourite and familiar characters through Mitchum's lens is both novel and disconcerting. I loved reading about it in the smattering that we see in BLP. And looking forward to a more in-depth look here.

Love this unshown perspective from Mitchum, it adds extra context they didn’t put in the show. I love those kinds of stories that fill in the gaps. Can’t wait to read more and see what/if you fill in before the family dinner.

This take on the Vow renewal scene is very clever.

Can she that Mitchum is not a romantic or maybe it’s just having been married to Shira. Logan and Rory seemed to have a plan all along

Emily has no idea the embarrassment she has caused her granddaughter. Logan to Rory’s rescue. Like Mitchum’s reaction to his son all the way through the evening. Even to moving Shira away from that window. Let Logan have what ever he is up to

It’s very interesting to see all these events and relationships through Mitchum’s eyes. I like that you took the scenes from the show and showed them from his point of view. He promises he’s not going to interfere with Logan’s love life, and it seems like he’s trying, but I’m not sure it’s working. I’m not sure why he’s worried about Logan and Rory together. The only thing that I can see is he doesn’t want to ruin his relationship with the Gilmore’s, but otherwise, he should be happy. The difference between Mitchum’s and Shira’s view on a suitable wife is for Logan is dramatic. It’s cute how Mitchum now thinks Logan got Rory out of his system! The table 7 thing is pretty crazy!

I love this chapter because it had such a heavy E/R slant, even though it's written through Mitchum 's cynical lens. I can hear what I mentioned before, that Mitchum is a bit jealous of E/R's relationship, even though he would never admit it. (He would have to shove down the feeling of horror that bubbled within his soul at the mere idea of forty years of marriage.)

The reference to one of his former mistresses also being there (as someone else's wife) is a nice
touch. :)

I think it's interesting that Mitchum expected Lorelai to look like Emily. I suppose it makes sense, considering people usually look for similarities between mother/daughters and father/sons.
It's not as obvious, but I tend to think Lorelai favors Richard more, at least in looks. (Richard would have probably had the same color hair when he was younger, and they are both tall.)
Of course, as much as Lorelai would hate for anyone to say it, she and Emily are very similar in personality. (Proud, stubborn, and determined.)

I like the way you show Mitchum and Shira parent their children separately, rather than as a unit. It's not as bad as using their children against each other in fights (which a lot of couples with troubled relationships do), but they live such separate lives that they don't know a lot about what the other is doing or planning with their children.

Thank you for continuing the story! Liked seeing Mitchum’s take on the vow renewal. I do dread when he gives Rory her bad review during the internship. I always found that to be the most painful moment of the entire Gilmore girls series. I personally felt it was so unfair but interested to see your take on it.

What a fun story to read! I love it. Not a fan of Mitchum, but I dont hate him, he is an entertaining character and I like seeing things from his POV. A very enjoyable fic, please keep posting! Thanks! Hapy new year!

This is such an interesting perspective, I love it! I admit that I was a bit skeptical at first, but you are a great writer and managed to convince me by the first chapter already. It's interesting to see things through Mitchum's perspective when we know what actually happened. Please continue with both this story and BLP!

This is great. It’s so intriguing to see the push and pull between Logan and Mitchum. The mostly hands off upbringing yet burden of responsibility on both of them.

I love Logan yet I can’t imagine being his parent. I am already worried my toddler will have a kindergarten gf bc he enjoys hugs and kisses a wee bit too much. I think Shira sees what she wants to see. Mitchum’s spidey sense is amazing. As much as we think we’re clever, our parents always know more than we think! Loved how he saw through the setup with Jewel. I was actually touched that he cared for her.

The entire storyline is fascinating. The haunting of the newspaper was brilliant.

So I got the notification for this just as I was leaving work and I was so excited the whole commute home because I couldn’t wait to read it. I am super excited about this fic. And I, like you, worried it might be a little more niche but I’m glad so many others are enjoying it too because hopefully that will give you motivation to work on it more, haha. Anyway, this chapter was just as great as the first. Shira really just sees what she wants to, doesn’t she? And Mitchum is in for a surprise.

I’m happy you decided to include the vow renewal. You are such a good writer that I think I’d read any alternative story you might choose to write. Happy to switch between BLP and the family business.
