I think you should make her gain the memories of the Lexa from that world. That way she'll be able to blend in a lot more easily.

Gosh, seeing how distraught Lexa is over the fact that no matter what she tries, death escapes her grasp without fail is... not something that I’ll ever get used to.

Honestly, I can’t say that I blame her for being so cynical and absolutely done with everything. Imagine that you spend so much of your time in the basement of a psychopath that tries to break you into loving them enough to conform to being property and when you finally have an escape, you get a chess-playing cosmic entity that decides that it’s just far too bored to not toy with you of all people.

I have to say that she played the scene with her father well; I can’t imagine that I’d be in a good position for feigning happiness and putting on a comforting act. You’re right, child. The laws of an isekai are pain with a capital P.

This is still just as well-written, though I think that’s stating the obvious at this point. I tend to avoid stories like these since my brain can’t process the loopholes and twistie-turnies of isekais well sometimes, but YOU have nailed it perfectly so far! Can’t wait to see the rest~~!

Interesting idea. Lets see where it goes.

You know, the time between the outbreak happening and it actually happening, could be the most horrific, emotionally wise. Knowing that a bad 'thing' is bound to happen and you can do nothing about it, can actually be more mentally taxing, than when the 'thing' actually happens. Add that Lexa was already not emotionally 'fine' (I mean, to her, being a hostage for how long she was, is a day-old experience.)

On the other hand. If she can't die, it means that she can now act without restraint. Think of a video game. The reason you might do crazy shit there, is because you know that if you die you just reload to your last save.

The question now is, how much control does she have over her own 'respawn.'
Just think of the possibilities if she could actually 'reset' time for a few hours every time she died.
She could do a month's worth of research (Like finding if the guy that captured her is here, and where.) In an hour.
Or pick the best 'choice for a decision she does 'not' want to fail.

(She would just have to off herself...constantly...but she already did so once, so...)

Solid writing on this chapter too.

...This review ended up being bigger than I thought...

Oho? So Lexa has a role to play, here? I like it. I also like the idea of this... Overpowerful entity messing with her. Toomin? Is that you? Just kidding. Makes me wonder to which point "You may not die" applies. Is she still vulnerable to Them? Or she's banned from harm until she did what, at this point, the entity wants her to do?
I like the physical problem you gave her. Can't wait to see how it plays down. A malfunctioning lung must not be convenient, especially with what is to come. I am glad to see that there is someone still writing in this fandom! And I must say that your writing is exceptional too! Brava! I'll be waiting for chapter III :)

On the very same day this updates I get my COVID vaccine, is it coincidence? Or perhaps something else? Hmmm.

My personal issues aside, this chapter actually makes quite a bit of sense in a bizarre way. If some supernatural force reincarnated someone into another world wouldn't it also stand to reason that the very same force responsible would also ensure that the victim of its' machinations also stays within that world? It's always peeved me that most Isekai's out there tend to reincarnate their protagonists but never really explore the Buddhist aspect besides waving their hand's and all but saying "just becuase it is."

As for Doi (Lexa?) I suppose the collapsed lung is actually a blessing in disguise, in the sense she'll have nearly two weeks to organize her memories so she can act accordingly without raising too much suspicion. Doi/Lexa's latent memories also more or less make sense. After all the body she inhabits has spent a short lifetime familiarizing itself with everyone around her, thus it's perfectly reasonable for her to at least have an instinctive reaction to those she loves or hates.

I'm also interested on what the extent of her relationship, or at least Doi's relationship, with Saeko is. From the sound of it, it seems as though Doi gave up Archery just so she could be in the same club with Saeko. I suppose this is something we'll figure out later on the story or maybe in the next chapter if hospital visitor hours are a thing in this world.

Also on a side note, Doi and Lexa both did archery. I guess we know what role Doi/Lexa will have in our upcoming group of survivors.

Overall, I really liked the chapter and I wish you the best during this worlds' pandemic.

Good writing, solid narration, interesting concept and eagerly awaiting for more. However, I don't see a poll for on your profile. Regardless, I think the only relationships Lexa (Doi-chan) needs right now is the love for life and liberty given the fact she was imprisoned by someone who abused both of those in her last life. Somehow I don't think she would realistically be on the market for a romantic partnership right now.

Chilling start to what should be an even more chilling story, Shio-chan! I'm super happy to see that this has finally been released to the masses, and what a journey it shall be, kukukuuuuu~! First off!? Let's talk about how well-written this is, yeah~?! Obviously, exceptional writing has always been a skill that you have no trouble showcasing! One of your greatest strengths is building upon an already suspenseful atmosphere and creating layers of thickness that are so palpable, they can be cut through with a knife! It felt as if I was looking through the eyes of Lexa myself! I could imagine her fear, her trepidation, but most importantly, her determination! The first section of the chapter had me on the edge of my seat and then some! I could perfectly envision my own version of the environment too! It was dark, desolate, stuffy... just an overall uncomfortable and suffocating scenery all-around! It felt like such an accurate representation of how an kidnapped victim would feel. I screamed when she did what she did upon realizing that she wasn't going to be able to get away again but honestly, I can understand...

Poor girl was really willing to die before allowing herself to be back in that basement. That says a lot about what kind of torment this motherfucker likely put her through.

Luckily for her though?! This is an isekai! A realm where nobody truly ever dies! I can't wait to see where we go from here! I have nothing but positive things to say here, Shio-chan! My only negative!? It doesn't even go to you, it's the fact that I'm pissed at myself for not reviewing sooner! Also, Lexa's realization?! Beautifully done! I could not have imagined it going any better! You should really be proud of yourself, babey girl! And if anyone has the nerve to flame you or get bitchy? Welp! They can chooooke on a railroad spiiiiike~! And no, I'm not sorry for saying it! Why live life if you're gonna be a mean bitch? Perish so the good can prosper! That's my motto!

Hehe, I love ya, you talented girl, keep up the great work~! I'll be reeeeading!

Writing is, as always, extremely solid. Lines of actions are clear and easy to follow and character descriptions are well-placed . And I like that too much time isn't spend on descriptions overall.

...maybe a little too torture-prony though. My only complaint. But it do be the first chapter, so no judgements! Great start tho! Please save the isekai genre.

Umm, I'm a bit lost. The lung 'transferred' with her? So it's a new body, but she has the dysfunctions of the old one? I mean, you said it was from when she was younger. So it can't be a 'ghost' pain from the fact that she just stabbed her lung moments ago. Or is that a 'new' memory from her 'new' body?...
Uhh, yea. As I said, me is lost.

Other than that, I thought 'my' character's surname was weird (Which it is). But having to call a girl 'kiddo' in order to be polite, that's some situational comedy right there.

Also. Our story summaries have a sentence that's exactly the same (This is not a complaint.)

Interested to see where the story goes, especially as an isekai. I look forward to seeing how the plot might change from canon and what characters get used!
