Man, now I'm feeling disappointed I kind of ditched this website the past couple months, but better late than never, right? Right?!

...

Anyways, lol.

What an awesome finale you wrote there! I really didn't expect Luigi to win that trivia challenge... To be honest, I felt like he was extremely lucky and snagged some points when all the others failed, butit was still a well-deserved win!

And then, you had us in suspense for the Samus VS Engineer vote. To be fair, I expected them to turn against one another since they were their biggest competition! But for a moment I had a thought that Samus might want to salvage her social game and thus not vote against Engineer. So the final 3 was the final three I actually envisioned...

But I never expected Luigi to win it all! You did the Luigi arc way better than any other I've seen before. Because, yes, I have seen quite a few stories where Mario is on an earlier season, and then Luigi follows suit and does similarly or even better. But it didn't feel forced here, is what I'm trying to get at. He really did win by his own merits and showed how great of a contender he was. I'm usually so-so on Luigi due to his (rabid) fanbase (kinda like for Yoshi or Rosalina if you know what I mean), but this Luigi was very well-written and I enjoyed him thoroughly.

Next, I'd like to mention Samus who had the biggest transformation from the first season to the next. She wasn't an antagonist, but clearly was playing the game for herself and made it that much more fun. I loved her story or triumphing over the bad guys and her foes, and though she was a very dominant force during the challenges, I also liked that she didn't outright win. It showed that the jury valued her game, but that she was still a little lacking.

As for Phoenix, he was the star of the show for me, however I vastly overestimated his chances and underevaluated the perception the jury had of him. I thought for sure he could pull a surprise win, but he did skate by due to appearing mostly unthreatening.

All in all, a great season, and I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us in the next one!

Yeah, taking a break is for the best, you did just finish a lengthy piece of fanfiction right there, lol!

I am unsure as to how many people you would bring back from this season, or even if you would be willing to bring some from the first season to the third (those that only participated once, I mean). With that said, I decided to try to pick 6 characters as it kind of mirrors the number of returning players in this season.

My first choice would be Tails. I'll be honest, he was the perfect package, but I would have loved for him to take the game more seriously, or rather, to approach it in a more strategic manner. He's very smart, and I feel like we haven't seen enough of him with this season... If there was only one person to choose, my vote would be for Tails.

My second choice would be... Waluigi! Yes, surprisingly! I know he is absolutely terrible at the game, but he could either be cannon fodder or get some sort of redemption arc. Besides, he is the total opposite of Tails. While Tails was good at everything, Waluigi was a trainwreck. And we loved that for him.

My third choice is Phoenix. Okay, so yeah, he WAS my favorite, alongside Peach, but truth to be told... I expected him to be more of a leader than what he was during this season. Let's chalk that up to the elements since he is a normal human being with almost no powers, but I would be interested in seeing him in another season... Only, a little more proactive! Otherwise he was pretty much perfect.

Fourth... I kind of told myself I wouldn't pick anyone for the first season when I first started this, but the opportunity was too good to pass up. Plus, even though I liked Peach, , MetaKnight, Kirby, Spy and Engineer, a few of them I can't see coming back and doing great.

So my fourth spot goes to... Wario! That's right! This time you had Waluigi, Luigi and Peach... And if Waluigi were to come back, I would definitely like it if Wario was there as well. Their interactions could be really awesome, and they could definitely be allied one day and bitter enemies the next... Like, the possibilities are endless with this pair! Plus, they were both inept at the game the first time around!

Fifth spot... It's getting harder, but someone that I really enjoyed during the first season was King Dedede if I remember correctly. He wasn't that good at the game, but then again few people were. Perhaps his new insight might propel him further into the game? Who knows!

As for the last person... Since I said Wario and Waluigi, no Peach. A new Mario character like Bowser or Toad, or Daisy or DK would be more likely anyways. Engineer and Spy had their rivalry, I'd rather see another member of TFT join the fray. The JoJo's are overpowered and I would expected a third one to enter the ring, perhaps? I would definitely LOVE to see Papyrus again, but at this point readers might get tired of him, and you as well. Perhaps he could take a break and come back in a later season if you have any plans for one to happen. ROB already had a good story, and he would get a target on his back so...no. K. Rool I'm on the fence. On the one hand, I would definitely enjoy seeing him back, especially if you get DK, Dixie or Diddy in here as well, on the other hand he didn't do mthat much this time, what with being so obviously evil, lol. The others are fodder or returnees, so no thanks.

I was almost tempted to choose Arataka Reigen but... I'm not sure. So you know what? Five returnees in a cast of 20 is already good enough. I'm stopping there.

Sorry if the review was super long, but telling you about who I would bring back also helped me give my thoughts about most of the cast! I know I didn't speak much of Kirby and MetaKnight but unfortunately they were not as interesting as some of the others... At least to me!

And with that said...

Thank you for writing and finishing this story, it was definitely a good read and I'm sure I'll reread it in the future. That's how good it was!

Have a nice break and see you for your next adventure! (and don't hesitate to post it in the SSB section this time!)

Aw, man. Sucks for ROB, but I honestly never saw him making it to the end, so it's good that he left here. I thought for sure Samus would win but I expected Engineer to crash and burn... So now it's getting super tense for Luigi and Phoenix because they clearly aren't as physical as Samus so... If she wins again, she can just side with Engineer and vote for the one who is more likely to lose the tiebreaker... In this case, Phoenix I assume?

Once again, super interesting challenge with all sorts of twists and turns (literally, lol). I thought there might have been a footrace opposing Phoenix and Engineer at the end, but it makes more sense that Dell's maneuver landed him the win!

As for the non-challenge part of the chapter, I liked how tyou decided to make them talk about what they would do if they were to win. It's kind of a stereotypical discussion, but one that helps further define their characters. Also I couldn't help but smile when Phoenix's broke status came up, lol. Plus, with Maya's burger addiction, he'd better make sure his pockets are full when he returns home!

Wow.

I actually expected Samus to betray Engineer and Little Mac, but she stuck to her word and in the end, it was Mac who paid the price.

But first things first. I actually loved the challenge this time. You know, there are some people who, when they write challenges, kind of get lost in the action. But you, you never did. The players kept overtaking one another, and though it was pretty much a three-way tie for first place, you never forgot to mention how the others were doing (Engineer, Phoenix and Mac). Also, I could actually visualize the challenge, which is no easy task for a writer to accomplish.

It really was a great read!

As for the stratey talk, I'm glad Luigi was there with Phoenix to reassure the attorney that neither ROB nor him were going to flip. I'm kind of liking this dynamic duo of Luigi and Phoenix more than I expected to! ROB is great as well, but honestly a final three of Samus VS Luigi VS Phoenix would be totally awesome! I could see Samus winning the last immunity forcing Luigi and Phoenix to vote against ROB since they are closer to one another.

Now, for my prediction...

1 : Luigi
2 : Samus
3 : Phoenix
4 : ROB
5 : Engineer

As for my personal order of preference, it would be...

1 : Phoenix
2 : Samus
3 : Luigi
4 : ROB
5 : Engineer

I'll be surprised if ROB AND Engineer both make it to the final 3, which is why they are on the lower end of my predictions. I like the five remaining contestants, but obviously I have my preferences as well.

I really enjoyed this breather of a chapter. Truly heartwarming!

From Peach sending her encouragements to ROB, to Mario cheering his brother on, to Engineer's very comical letter (lol), not to mention Maya's uplifting note, there were a lot of feelings this chapter. And even the two I did not mention got something nice, which is cool, especially for Samus since, well. Not like there are a lot of people she can count on in her life. That are alive, I mean.

I was wondering for a moment why they thought Enginner would be more likely to leave, but then I realized they did not know what the last part of the challenge entailed.

Speaking of which, I found it neat how you acknowledged that the previous contestants had a bigger target on their backs last chapter, but I completely forgot to talk about it in my previous review. Whoopsie?

Oh no... Peach is gone... I'll admit that I had a feeling it would be over for either her or Luigi, so I'm not too sad at this loss. Plus, she could have definitely done better in her speech and ended her stay honorably. If ROB had thrown her the immunity, I think Phoenix would have gone home and he's probably my favorite still in this now that Peach is gone.

It's getting harder and harder to see people leave. Out of the six remaining contestants, I would only be a little disappointed if Mac was the one winning the show. I'd be delighted if Phoenix or Samus were to win. I wouldn't mind a Luigi, Engineer or ROB win, though the robot has already been voted out once.

Granted, it was a very special council, but I believe it still counts. Also even ifhe were to reach the end of the game, I don't think he would win the jury vote. Too many 'bitter' player might find his placement unjust.

Phoenix is painted as a sure loser, but I wouldn't be so surprised if he managed to excel at the end. Arguing is what he does as a job, so clearly he could out-talk the other finalists and perhaps show the jury that his journey makes him worthy of the title!
4/17 c30 Princess Toady
Interesting twist. This all makes me wonder how Waluigi is going to vote since he hates everyone, lol. I sure hope Luigi isn't in the bottom two otherwise he is sure to get his vote! In any case, it just goes to show that Alexa knows how to mix things up. Samus expected a straight-up challenge loss to be the reason why the next person would be sent to the jury, but now... It really depends on who has the support of the jury. It could also give us a glimpse as to how the game could end, in a way. Give us some insight about the jury's thoughts.

As for the actual contestants, I kinda liked that they decided that it was a game and put all negative thoughts they could have about the other side on the backburner. But given the fact that one alliance is full of goodie-two-shoes, that was to be expected!

Hello there, long time no see!

I haven't really been on these past few months so I apologize for being late in reviewing this chapter.

And what a chapter... You had me in suspense the whole time! From the race to the finish, to the ambiguous vote, I really was unable to tell what would truly happen. In my mind, I felt like one of Peach or ROB would be separated at the end of the tribal council, but you totally bluffed me and Kirby, whom I had pegged as a finalist or at least a final four contestant, ended up getting the boot.

And, adding to that, you had this whole side-story about the idol and made us think Samus' group could tie up the vote next time, only to drop the bomb that idols expired this tribal council. AND Samus even ended up kind of betraying Engineer and Little Mac, which I actually enjoyed as it shows she's not playing for anyone else but herself with this move.

Once again, good job! And I'll try to be quick to review the following chapters!
2/5 c28 Princess Toady
I'm glad it was touched upon and that the Alliance of Peach, Luigi, Phoenix and ROB was made apparent to all parties, all thanks to the Robot himself. There were a lot of fun dynamics this chapter, such as how the cornered players (Little Mac, Engineer and Samus) were forced to cooperate in spite of their dislike for each other, and I really enjoyed Phoenix and ROB's conversations about threats like Kirby and Peach and their reluctance to let go of them.

I mean, sure, Kirby and Peach are both lovable characters, but I wouldn't say Luigi, Phoenix and ROB are without merit. That's for sure...

I'm expecting the outsiders' plan to work this time around and to disarm the opposing alliance, I believe either Luigi or Peach is going to go as those two would probably never go against one another. It doesn't matter what they say, they have a preexisting relationship that's been made clearer and clearer as the days go by. Slowly but surely they reveal tiny tidbits of information which should definitely alarm the rest of the contestants.

Like, when Phoenix was discussing with the two of them and Luigi and Peach casually revealed that Luigi had gone through so many ordeals just to save the princess. The others would be foolish to ignore them for much longer.

I really don't know what will happen next, but I'm excited nonetheless! I believe that Phoenix and Kirby are safe, and for there to remain some suspense for the upcoming tribal councils, I believe it is necessary to eliminate one of the contestants from the majority alliance.

Or perhaps the next two tribal councils after this one could be very obvious only to have the final 5 fight it out. Wouldn't be opposed to that as well since my favorites are on the majority.

Looking forward to next chapter!

That was a really unexpected chapter, I'll be honest. Never in a million year would I have imagined MetaKnight failing at this point of the competition, especially since I truly believed he had what it took to be one of the five people in the majority.

I suppose his cold and aloof behavior and his lack of empathy for Kirby really was what did him in.

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed reading this challenge. It was fun and simple yet interesting. Luigi was pretty unlucky as usual, or perhaps clumsy is the better word. Phoenix on the other hand was lucky because he managed not to stay in last in spite of his crappy batting, lol.

Any way, MetaKnight being out is definitely going to shuffle the cards. Also, I wonder what will happen to the Peach/Luigi/Phoenix/ROB group. They claim not to be in an alliance, but I find it kind of hypocritical since, well, they clearly coordinated their votes and even had a plan in case of a tie. So I'll be looking for further developments there as well!

Whoo! Baseball! I actually thought the next challenge would happen in the sky but it's an even better one!

As soon as I saw Baseball, I was reminded of those two Mario Baseball games in which Peach excelled at pitching...and then poor Luigi had her as his pitcher, really unlucky for him! Kirby hitting a homerun on his first try was absolutely priceless, though his disappointment was understandable.

All in all the fist part of the challenge was a good read and I enjoyed seeing the contestants play with AND against each other. It's something you don't see quite often once the merge hits.

I think Peach and Mac are out of trouble as I don't see them failing hard at their second go while the other contestants are already way being in scores. I also believe ROB and MetaKnight are good enough to be safe, but Luigi I'm a little iffy about.
1/31 c25 Princess Toady
Oh, I really enjoyed this breather of a chapter, though it was still sprinkled with a healthy dose of strategy. Samus and MetaKnight, I can see them collaborating for a while, but not forever. Samus has already shown to be a rather cutthroat player, and MetaKnight is only in it for himself and for Kirby.

Add to this this new alliance between Engineer and Little Mac and they'll all probably be targets. I mean, add ROB to the mix and those five are the biggest threats remaining since they're not afraid to make move unlike Phoenix, Peach and Luigi. As it was stated at the beginning of the chapter, the next victim of the game isn't so obvious after all.

Speaking of Phoenix, Luigi and Peach, they make for a good and interesting trio. if any of them leaves this episode, I'll be glad to have seen them interact together one last time. I especially feel like Luigi could relate to Phoenix which would perhaps help them form some kind of friendship to get out of trouble at the end.

Still hoping for Peach and Phoenix to make it far, they are definitely my favorites!
1/31 c24 Princess Toady
I'll be honest, I had completely forgotten about the Bob-omb twist that Jotaro, Peach and Engineer were all part of, so seeing it all pan out as it did was a nice and welcome surprise. Now that the biggest threats are out of the way, I'm feeling a Peach or a Luigi departure next, there have been a few allusions to a potential alliance between these two for a while now.

Soon, I also feel like Samus will be in most players' crosshairs too, much like Kirby and MetaKnight who won't be going to the end unchallenged. There will come a time when they will arouse suspicions, I can't see Kirby being all stoical like MetaKnight is.

Or perhaps their relationship will be revealed once someone sees what's under the knight's mask?

As for the challenge itself, it reminded me of a very similar one from the previous season, but I still found it more interesting. Maybe because it was slightly longer and it wasn't obvious who was in the lead at any point.

Not sure if I'm right, but I'm predicting Phoenix reaches the final 3. He's likeable, intelligent and not much of a threat when it comes to physical challenges, so I trust he will be able to stay afloat. No clue about ROB and Little Mac, though. I don't think ROB will make it to the end since he's already been eliminated once and is a contender no matter what people may say.

And Little Mac, I actually expected to be looong gone by now. Not that I dislike his character but he feels like one of the more normal contestants if you remove his...intensity, shall we say.
12/1/2020 c23 Princess Toady
That was a nice reintroduction chapter for ROB, I'll admit. This Truth or Dare game might have revealed a few potential victims in Kirby and Meta Knight as well as Luigi and Peach, due to their outside knowledge of each other.

As for ROB, he does seem to display more emotions than a typical robot, which now makes me believe that he might slowly become more human as the competition progresses.

Even so, this childish game didn't seem to impact the game all that much. Nothing too strange or threatening was revealed, so it was mostly a way for us to get to know some of the characters better.
12/1/2020 c22 Princess Toady
Much like ROB, I expected Alexa to include a third part of the challenge based on intelligence, however it would have been a foregone conclusion as ROB is, well, a robot that supposedly knows a lot. Still, I was pretty hyped to see that both Waluigi and Squidward would be part of the jury as well, it was a nice surprise.

Even though King K. Rool did not make it, he still had his moment to shine this chapter with his psycho tendencies. To see him be so unapologetic about it was priceless as well, and Alexa's covert comment about not caring about it a week ago was pretty amusing.

I'm not sure how much of a player ROB will be for this merge though. I mean, it makes sense for him to reach this point, and it is true that he was only voted out due to Spy and Jotaro's idols, but what will he bring to the table, I wonder. He doesn't feel emotions the same way a human would,so I don't see him being particularly vengeful. He had a friendship with Peach but most of the others didn't really pay him much attention. So I'll be watching his progression...because he certainly could be more calculating than the others.
11/16/2020 c21 Princess Toady
I had an inkling of suspicion it would be Tails as I read this chapter. I'm a little disappointed because I liked him a lot, but he was the next threat after Spy and Jotaro, so it makes a lot of sense. The challenge was fun to read and although it was repetitive in a way, you still found ideas to make it interesting thanks to the sabotage.

I'll be looking forward to the next chapter!
