for Nathaniel's Sister Drives like a Crazy Woman

Love this.

The idea that Nathaniel hires his sister as a driver, then recognizes a song she's humming and freaks out when she momentarily mistakes him for their dad, is a great one. Nathaniel is definitely motivated enough to research his own past and parents, and lonely enough to want family/suspicious enough to worry it's a trap.

Joanna is a great character. I'm surprised she did not get a make-up opportunity for the Test; if it could be dodged as easily as a sick day, you'd think more parents would try that. Winning the battle of 'driver picks the radio music/news' was fun; using it against Nathaniel and his canon government position as minister of information is sheer genius.

Love Nathaniel connecting with his sister. The little moments when he finds his old room and toy - evidence he hasn't been forgotten, despite encouragement - and when he gets the cupcake and doesn't like chocolate anymore - it's all sweet and heartbreaking. And of course his sister identifies Kitty as a crush. No man is a hero to his valet, or in this case to his big sis cum chauffeur.

There won't be a djinn revolt or commoner revolution here necessarily, given the rest of the government would have evacuated due to the fire alarm, but Faqarl might still be loose in his human hazmat meatsuit, it seems. And Nathaniel is a hero - again.

I'm sorry we didn't get to see more of the djinn - it would be fun to explore how human staff who aren't magicians interact with djinn, especially considering that there's been mention in other books that some spirits had to be specifically forbidden from eating a human in the same workplace. And I would love to see more of Joanna interacting with Rebecca Piper and their tips for dealing with/making life easier for their boss Mr. Mandrake. Hope you explore this universe further.
