...It's gonna get Super awkward when Vanilla gets involved... As well as When Johan finds out Cream can fly with her Ears. It's funny how he gets treated like a Bear under Fluttershy's care, especially since both Fluttershy and Cream have a similar vocal decible.

Speaking of Which, Tails would FREAK if, or rather WHEN, he finds out Johan was interested in how Tails both used his appendages to fly, and basically spared Tails so the Fox could "Pass down his Trait"... It may get a Bit funky and conflictive if, or when, the Freedom Fighters find out that Johan has a strange way of sparing people, based on useful traits rather than emotional standards

Dunno why I imagined Johan absolutely FUMING if he ever finds out that Tails was treated like a Pariah simply for having an extra tail, but I amused myself imagining Johan having an [If the Emperor had a TTS Device] level meltdown, minus the Warp Storms. Part of me feels that doesn't fit Johan, but another part feels that it COULD happen, since as Johan pointed out last chapter, if Tails had kids similar to himself, and raised them just the right way, they'd be an INCREDIBLY Strong Bloodline, and he would get ticked off that they were wasting such strong potiental for absurdly petty reasons.

...Oh Crap, Just realized that if he found out Tails and Cream could fly with their appendages, he'd try to "Pair them up", just to see what happens... As well as to see if Cream's "Fluttershy trait" can be passed down. There's something weird about imagining Johan playing "Matchmaker".

The part with Fiona puzzles me. Sonic failed to save her Family? And he left her behind? Huh. There's context missing there, but the latter I suspect was because of things beyond his control... As Sonic wouldn't leave his friends behind intentionally.

Personally, I feel Sonic should have flatly pointed out to Fiona that Antoine is with Bunnie by this point, slap her with a fact to shut her up... But I guess he was too tired to be snarky.

Still funny to imagine Sonic being a Deadpan snarker for a bit... And then having a Spastic Fit when he "Realizes he's becoming Shadow", right within Earshot of a visiting Shadow the Hedgehog. I can imagine Shadow either making a dry remark at Sonic's expense, or just go "HEY!" In annoyance.

Either way, free entertainment for everyone in the area... Once they get over their WTF moment.

I hadn't gotten bored. It's more that My sleeping Schedule is currently rubbish.

Still, Relationships are a Two-Way Street. Ironically, Sonic is trying to FIX the Problem, but the yahoos on the other side of the relationship, are actually making things worse. (Sally and Tails jumping the gun to get the Emerald of Strength, which is something Tails should not be doing alone. Had Sonic not played Distraction, Tails would have ended up like Loki after Hulk smacked him around in Stark Tower, only without the benefits of Asgardian Durability and with more realistic results...)

The little detail where Amy gives Sonic a look of Concern, implies that she realized Sonic's mind has been frayed to a Hairline thin thread, and that this Heart-To-Heart would be a Heavy one... It also gives off this implication that Amy's going to move on from Sonic later on, she'll still be his Friend and Fan, just not as Crazy as she had been before... Provided Johan doesn't kill or cripple her, of course... (Not against Amy, just considering the fact that Johan may get wild in the Knothole Vs Johan fight.)

And the Heart-To-Heart was as heavy as expected... Moreso than I thought. Sonic has a Point, throughout the story, Sonic had been giving quite a bit to all his friends... But Got comparatively Minor Returns. A thing I like is that you pointed out the main problem with some common Detractors who complain about the relationships of SatAM Sonic, that being how Sonic only started his relationships with other girls, during his Breakup with Sally, rather than while still in a relationship... And Bunnie wasn't exactly Antoine's Wife nor Girlfriend at the time either... Also, Sonic at least admitted his fault, and gave his reason... While he had to slam Sally with her own Faults and Past Relationships so she doesn't make Excuses.

Still, the needed Rant Sonic had, has Vibes from that scene from God of War 2018, where Kratos tells off Atreus for claiming that Kratos didn't care for his Wife and Atreus' Mother... With a Similar impact with the last part... Which is fitting. Sonic had suffered enough with Knife-Edge relationships, and will need time to heal from them.

On a Slightly humorous note, I read that scene with Sonic's English VA, but adopted with Kratos' Greek Accent. Dunno why it made the scene more fitting...

Johan's demolishing of the Arctic Freedom Fighters and the Dark Legion Forces, meaning this would be the one foe that would wake the Knothole Fighters to a harsh reality... That Unlike Eggman, who is single-minded in his targets and Relient on his Robots, Irin Queen, who can manipulate all kinds of Technology but is powerless against Magic, Scourge, who is an Arrogant and Selfish prat who doesn't even have a Plan for what he does, and Naugus, who is simply a Ponce with Magic who wants to lord over everyone, Johan is a Warlord, a Killer, a WARRIOR.

He won't Stand there and Monologue for hours like Eggman, The Iron Queen, Scourge and Naugus, he'll just break whoever is unlucky enough to stand in front of him... And with his Energy Draining Passive, Super Form and Chaos Powers will actually be a Liability rather than a Trump Card, as it would make Johan stronger, and may make the storm he's unintentionally creating WORSE... Add in the fact that he's like a Saiyan, being that "What doesn't kill Johan, only makes him stronger", in the very literal sense, and Scourge destroyed him not too long ago, Johan would likely easily outmatch EVERYONE who tries to fight him... As the Damage to the Echinda Legionnaries shows...

...This will be a Messy battle.

Ah, the ol' "Language of Flowers" detail... Only Royalty, a Florist, and a lovesick girl would understand it... So Yeah, Sonic wouldn't know Jack about it. Dangit Sally, you should know better that Sonic knows not of the Language of Flowers, considering how long you've been with him... And yet, she swatted that extended Olive Branch out of his hand. *Dry Clapping.* Bravo, Woo, BR-A-VO!

Sonic should not listen to Scourge. The Bum took the easy way out, and even before that "One Bad Day", Scourge was already a Selfish prick looking out for Number one... Meaning that Sonic having doubts for small moments where he has the right to get snappy, is exactly what Scourge wants.

After all, If Scourge can keep Sonic from actually ensuring his foes stop being a problem, he'll be able to carry on trucking, as Sonic having to constantly hold himself back, means that Scourge can pretty much do whatever he likes, kill whoever he likes, and the Heroes are Stuck walking on Eggshells because they keep doubting themselves, keep limiting themselves...

On a Lighter note, Frederick now reminds me of Jarl Balgruuf from Skyrim, the type of King/Lord/Jarl who'd rather be with his people, fighting and working by their side, rather than being Cooped up in a Castle as others suffer and Die around him. It would be ironic if it turns out that Fiona is truly related to him, as that means he's technically no longer the "Worst Family Member" anymore... (Considering Fiona isn't that great of a Leader in the Long Term...)

Also, It's amusing to imagine Frederick sneaking out of his Castle to have Drinks at the Tarvern in his Village, and his annoyed Thane to come over and drag him back to the castle. (This is actually a Random Chance to encounter in Skyrim.)

And Fiona, Scourge abandoned you. He always does. His M.O is "Look out for Number One", that being himself. You were a Pawn in his play, and you got sacrificed. You better watch who you diss, because you may bite the hand of the ones who could help you.

And Johan's ready to pounce.

Well, Didn't expect Mammoth Mogul, but eh. Ironically, he was the biggest help among the villains by telling Sonic that there was a New Threat in the Field. I also like that Sonic preventing any kind of Bond-Breaks between him and Tails by convincing him that he still did well. It shows that Sonic does have leadership capabilities... Meanwhile, we see that Trait turned on it's head with Scourge, where rather than using his Charisma to calm his friends, Scourge uses his Charisma to manipulate Fiona into leaving behind a Chance to Get a Better life for herself.

I wonder if later on, Someone would tell it to her straight, that Scourge takes in those that are Broken, and prevents them from healing, because he is afraid that they would become better than he ever could if they ever healed. It would be even more ironic if it would be the likes of Johan who would tell Fiona Straight, since he was the one who made her remember the repressed past that she had.

Anyway, the Scene with Frederick may backfire later down the road, since while Frederick seems nice, other nobles may abuse the Law... But even then, Frederick also has a point. Naugus just wants everyone but himself under control, which was why he kicked out the Acorns from the realm of Nobility, as they would have never bowed to him.

Frederick also has a point about how if Naugus wants to tax the nobility, he should give them something in return, as it's obvious that Naugus would be the only one exempt from the Tax Law he himself imposed... And I'm betting that NAUGUS was the one who destroyed the Tax Laws during the war, so that once he got into power, he could do whatever he liked.

And on the Bit with Sally, it seems to feel that Sally may have wanted to apologize to Sonic for the big breaker, but was too tried to muster the energy due to being run ragged. At least Sonic didn't decide to bolt the moment she asked him to sit... So there may be a chance later on.

Still, Frederick pointing out she's no longer nobility is a VERY Painful blow to her (Especially considering the Decade-long training courses she took to be the next in line for the throne), and may become a problem later on... Which makes me a bit iffy on Frederick being "Good", but it may also be a Red Herring and Frederick was simply stating the fact, as from how I read the Explaination, he seemed apologetic, while when explaining the Bill and his reasons for having Sonic reject it, he was downright BLUNT.

Anywho, the Part with the Sandblasters is funny, and quite Cathartic, considering how the Sandblasters don't even ACT like Freedom Fighters, and are little better than the Dark Legionaires that they fight... And it also makes me want to laugh at their complete lack of Forethought on both sides, considering that Deserts can get VERY COLD at night (The Likes of the Sahara can get to Zero Degrees Celsius on a WARM night, and drop even LOWER depending on Climate Conditions.), meaning the Best Desert Equipment are actually able to function in both warm and frigid conditions, making them quite adaptable...

And the fact that the Sand-Blasters and the Desert Dark Legionaires don't even have such equipment, just makes me want to point and laugh at them for their own stupidity. I mean, The Lost Planet 2 Faction, The Vagabundos, would be collectively facepalming at the Epic Fail by the Sand-Blasters and Desert Dark Legion... Right before laughing at them and riding off on their GAF-14 "Fastreys", laughing all the way!

Rule one of dealing with Enemies, Scourge... Do NOT Believe them Dead, until you've Found and Confirmed their Body! Then again, Scourge wasn't the Brightest Bulb in the Crayon Box, and he was always too arrogant for everyone's good.

There's something Comedic about Robotnik complaining about the Cold ruining his Potatoes, as up until Sonic Boom, It was hard to imagine Eggman complaining about fairly mundane things... As well as Eggman pointing out the Idiocy of using Weather Machines in the extremes, as they're similar to weaponizing viruses, where if something goes wrong, it will severely harm the one responsible for the event in the first place.

Funny fact, Unless the Tornado had the engine replaced completely, It wouldn't have needed Liquid Coolant, as the Tornado would have used a Radial Engine, which is Air-Cooled by the attached propeller... Then again, Knowing Tails, he WOULD have replaced the Engine with say, a TurboProp Motor, which WOULD Require Liquid Coolant, as the TurboProp isn't as efficient at Self-Air Cooling as the piston-powered radial engine.

Yeah, Things are really going to get worse for Sonic and Sally before they get any better... And Sonic isn't helping either. He thinks Sally has burned bridges, and yet he's doing the same thing on a more drastic scale. So it's not a matter of "If", but "when" things will require an intervention.

Hopefully it won't go as Badly as the one with Larry... So many Broken Necks...

*Ahem*, Anyway, this "Dr Flintavious", are you referring to Dr Finitevus? Because I got confused for a bit. Still, it's kinda funny to imagine Both Eggman and Finitevus both waving off Sonic when they tell him to "Get Lost".

And that's a red Flag at the end with Johan... He's gonna kill.

Quite nice dialouges and fights, curious about your next plans.

...Calling it now, Johan is the cause of the mystery snow storm. The fact that the storm turned up shortly after he killed and drained Scourge's colleagues, implies that Johan may have elemental powers that he's awakened.

Funny and sad thing is that Sonic thinks he's acting mature... But he's actually just running away from the problem by keeping distant from Sally.

Still, I partly understand, as Sally basically tried to shoo him away for "Making Jokes" about Robotnik Planning Something (Something Sonic NEVER has done), up until other people had to smack her in the nose with the same thing Sonic tried to tell her... Though it's also explained that Sally's been under a LOT of stress, and with Sonic getting distant, it's probably making her mind go in all the wrong directions.

Won't surprise me if later on, Sally is revealed to have had similar thoughts on Sonic that Sonic had had of Sally, that is, Sally/Sonic thought the other had gone for their previous short-term relationship partner, only to find out that neither had done so.

I can sorta imagine Sally Blurting that out, and Sonic having this utterly befuddled face at realizing both of them had just been stressing each other out in their own and making similar assumptions as the other. I can also imagine Sonic facepalming at the sheer absurdity of it... And the Stupidity of the both of them.

Welp, hopefully Sonic and Sally get to talk and have Sally explain her actions. The whole "Slap In Public" felt like it was because Sally had been running the Freedom Fighters without Sonic's help for over a Year, she had been worried sick for him throughout that time, and when Sonic kept trying to go back into the Fray so soon, her tired and stressed out mind just snapped.

While it doesn't make what she did RIGHT by Publically Humiliating him, it gives a reason why she was so Out of Character. I like Sally, even if she's a bit too Pacifistic at times (Robotnik needs to be put down, not arrested, when will she figure THAT out?!), and I also like Sonic to be mature. Sonic running away from Sally and being all Emo about their messy situation, will only create a bigger divide between them, and cause Sally even more stress, which will cost them all in the long run.

Sonic avoiding Sally isn't helping himself or the Freedom Fighters at all, especially with the ASS-Sumption he made of Sally going back to the Monkey guy in the last chapter, ignoring the fact that Sally and the Monkey guy barely even started a relationship before they broke up, as the Monkey Bloke was a Bit of a Playboy and thus, not exactly relationship material.

Funnily enough, Johan may be that Catalyst that Foils Genesis Wave (As he will cease to exist if it succeeds), as well as the reason Sonic and Sally get their talk. As remarked by Tails in the previous chapter, without a Common enemy to fight, the Freedom Fighters are quickly falling apart... And Nagus being the Prat that he is, isn't helping any further. Johan becoming a New Threat or Constant annoyance will give them something to direct their ire at... At least, unless Johan makes them an ally of his.

The two villagers Fiona was rescued by for some reason made me think of Left 4 Dead, with Oswald reminding me of Louis, and Bill being, well, Bill. It kinda gives me an idea of what Voices I should give them, as well as the tones they would use... Which is kinda funny to imagine sometimes.

Also, Lord Frederick's sudden appearance before Fiona's part, makes me feel he's related to Fiona in some manner, either as a Cousin, Brother or maybe even Uncle. I mean, "Aria", that's not a Commoner's name, that sounds like a Noble lady's name. Also, "Lady Fiona" doesn't have the same ring as "Lady Aria".

What's more, the minor flashback to Fiona being inside of a Burning house and crying for her parents, feels like a majority of her family was murdered in that fire, and Fiona was the Sole Survivor of that event. Her not liking the "Aria" name, was likely because it reminded her of times that she could not return to, to a loving family, a Luxurious home and Sanctuary.

Throw in the mention of Lord Frederick mentioning he lost his siblings and cousins, implies that he's either Fiona's Brother, or her Cousin.

On a more format related note, why is the First Chapter missing? Your story's first chapter reads as "Chapter 2", and not as "Chapter 1".
