Great chapter, both of the tributes seem really interesting. I wonder how their differing views of the Capitol and Games will affect how they get along. Can't wait to see more!

[With more and more acts of rebellion and unrest happening in the Districts, this years Games had to be spectacular; it had to be the perfect reminder for the people of Districts that their place was beneath that of the Capitol.]

How would this keep people from rebelling? They've already had enough of Panem as an oppressive regime. They're not going to stop because the president wants to make a point with a more special game. This is like throwing water onto a magnesium fire.

[The difference between this year compared to previous is that the people of the Capitol were starting to lose faith in the concept of the Games. Once a form of entertainment and a way to keep the Districts down, the Games had become...stagnant. It began to feel like the same thing over and over again, with the excitement of the event all but gone.]

Well, okay, but there's also the constant uprisings from the districts. That sounds like a far more pressing concern.

[The Capitol was outraged. She became one of the most hated winners in memory, and all of the post-Games traditions she was expected to do were cancelled for her own safety as her life was threatened by hundreds of angry Hunger Games fans.]

You know, the gamemakers could've easily killed her off since they rig the arenas all the time. Not to mention a kid surviving for this long despite all odds would've made them a lot more memorable than forgotten. It just felt like the story needed a shocking twist rather than thinking about whether it made sense.

Also, come on, there's been kids who've won by just waiting out the others, and lucky shots like this must occur.

It's also ignoring the huge elephant in the room. The districts don't care. That's why they're rebelling. They don't see a point in needlessly sacrificing their own children.

hi there! I'm super excited to see this fic get underway; thanks a bunch for taking both of my kiddos! i really like the set-up you have going for this fic; the power struggle triangle between Eden and Jericho and Xanthe is interesting especially with how young Eden is and all that that implies. overall, I'm very much looking forward to seeing how all of this unfolds, especially as the kids come into play! great work!

I’m not going to lie, I always love the oc’s the writers of SYOT’s come up with. I guess I’ll have to add Eden to my list. He seems genuinely sweet and maybe a bit nervous but who knows what presidency will do to him.

Jericho’s and interesting character too. I haven’t read about someone who wants the power the president has, it’s always been other sorts of political problems. I do wonder what will happen when Eden learns of Jericho’s scheming. Nothing good probably.

The new Head Gamemaker, Xanthe, is definitely going to spark up some interest for the new Hunger Games. I think she knows exactly what she’s doing and maybe there’s more than she letting on. I don’t know though. I’m excited to see more of her.

Overall, I really enjoyed this chapter. I don’t have much of a clue if I’ll submit a tribute or not, however I’d love to stick around and read. You seem like an awesome writer who knows how to engage their readers. I’ll be waiting for the next chapter to be posted!
