for Guess Who: Invisible Drabbles

9/13 c6 41Book 'em Again
Ch 1 - I like how the repeated "they said" really helped the reader quickly get into our hero's state of mind and sets the tone for this short and unfortunate tale.
Ch 2 - I can definitely see LeBeau throttled people. Love how you explored his confidence.
Ch 3 - "Booming success" I see what you did there :) Not the character I was expecting to arrive at the end.
Ch 4 - Nice exploration of Newkirk's skills. Enjoyed the fair lady reference.
Ch 5 - Loved how you played with language here to show Carter's transition from himself to his character. As someone who has done theater there really is that moment when you take on your character and you captured that well.
Ch 6 - A nice reflection by Newkirk on his role. Like how you tied it to his prewar skills

A nice look at Newkirk. His talents and background fits seamlessly into the prose. Love the last line.

Nicely done! And a wonderful (and different) response to the prompt.

Could very well describe emotions felt by any marginalized individual.

A nice piece. A mission deftly told-this vignette says a lot in just a few words.

Nicely done. And a surprising ending. Didn’t expect that. Makes me want to go, awww.

I really liked the start of this Drabble. I think everyone at one time or another has had the same thoughts. Unfortunate ending, however.

A great description of Newkirk, and his skills:-)

Carter’s transformation is always impressive:-)
8/31 c4 mrspencil
A nicely written sequence of subterfuge:-)

Awww…relieved he reappeared:-)
8/31 c2 mrspencil
A great choice of character…with some very neat observations.

Not quite invisible enough…nicely done:-)

Nice use of several distinguishing qualities - magic, misdirection, sleight of hand - to evoke Newkirk's skill in a crowd.

The dichotomy that is Carter is neatly dissected here. I particularly liked the contrast between his pleasant Midwestern tones and his "accent sharp and cold as ice."
