Different and good. Maybe you could continue with some other Dodge citizens.

What a wonderful sweet story! During the early morning hours of a rainy fall day, what a heart warming time to spend with my FF Gunsmoke family.

What a lovely story. I loved how Matt and Kitty gave this poor widow work so she could keep food on the table and so she could pay her mortgage. Although they were looking for someone who would take better care of their clothes than the current laundress.
I love how you incorporated Kitty and Matt's injury's and shootings into the story and reminded us of all the dangerous and almost deadly things that happened to these 2 over the years. I love how Doc told her to burn Kitty's clothes after the dog soldiers got a hold of her in that brutal attack and I epecially remember the scene from the Avengers where Matt came gunning for the judge and his boys who were ready to hang Kitty and Festus. and we all saw how bad Matt was limping and could barely get on this horse and how bad that blood soaked through his pants.
That laundress sure did see a lot of what went on in that dangerous town through cleaning and mending clothes
Great story, parkerpal

The conclusion to this fic is every bit as poignant, inventive, and lovely as the first chapter. Kitty’s interaction with Ella is exactly on-point, and so easily visualized via your vivid depiction. Our girl truly does have a heart of gold. Matt’s kindness and bond with Ella is so true to actions we see toward the citizens of Dodge throughout the series. The stories that Matt and Kitty’s clothes tell, through their bullet holes, rips, and blood stains evoke the same emotions in Ella as they do in us. You have a true talent for portraying our beloved main characters through the eyes of your OCs, and never is that more on display than here.

Thank you so much for writing, ParkerPal, and I can’t wait to read the next thing from you!

Loving this beautiful, original tale told through the OC of Ella—you are a truly gifted writer, ParkerPal, and never is that more evident than when you instantly have us wholly invested in the lives of your original characters.

This chapter is poignant, beautiful, and written so true to our beloved characters. I can’t wait for chapter two.

I enjoyed this heart-warming tale and also admired your skill in allowing Ella to tell it from the first person. T'aint easy! Ella did a great job of exposing the kindness and concern of all the major characters responsible for her new life and new career. Nice work!

Thanks for a wonderful story of a woman who touched lives in Dodge, particularly 2 special ones whose kindness enabled a new widow to continue to live in Dodge long enough to pay off the mortgage & presumably for many years more. Your tale makes Dodge a real town with people other than the most prominent citizens we usually encounter.

This was an awesome tale of someone looking in on the life of others and feeling their pain. This is great thank you.

I loved this. Such a unique way to recall many of the devastating events that befell the marshal and Miss Kitty. I really could feel for Ella -she was a gentle but strong woman who cared about her friends.
