Great chapter looking forward how you handle the coming chapters.

Man, you keep getting better and better with your action scenes. I wasn't expecting a submarine battle here, but you handled it so well. The tension bled off of the page as they tried to find a way out of what was basically a knife fight. A war at the bottom of the sea...

Once again, Vyse shows what a good captain he is, both while was was going up against the craziest admiral Valua had to offer and after, where he checked on his ship and crew before he quietly fell apart on his own. Or at least until his first mate found him.

And speaking of Enrique, I hope he knows what he's doing. So much is building up in this chapter that I swear I feel the end game starting, and even with that you worked in so many character moments between the crew and the couples. I don't know how you do it. Well done, sir

Interestingly, my favorite part of this chapter is actually the Author's Note, where you explain how the Challenger Expedition and real-life deep-sea divers inspired this chapter. I like authors who "put what they know" into their writing; the knowledge really makes their writing seem like a "labor of love", as it were.

I also like how you continue to give Moegi important roles in this adaptation, as Moegi was a character I greatly admired in Skies of Arcadia, so I love how you're using her here.

Love how you made Moegi into a great character.

I have to admit I wasn't expecting a dip into James Cameron territory in this chapter with their search of the ocean's deep for a lost ship, but you really built up the suspense and the difficulty. No wonder no one else has stepped on the bottom of the world in this universe. You're wonderful use of descriptions really brought the heat and the danger to life. A heat that really became serious when Vyse had to take off his hat just to stand it. Plus James Carmeron never had to do it under fire.

I also didn't think that this would be the chapter where Moegi comes into her own. It was wonderful watching her realize what her power really was and claim it. And for her to learn the most important lesson, that she can't make the people she loves stay. For someone who has had so many people leave, I can understand her trying to hold on with all she has, but that's not what a Blue Rogue does.

It is what a crazy Valuan admiral does, though. Especially one crazy enough to do what Admiral Del Loco does at the end of this chapter. I can't wait to see the big battle in the next one!

Wait, what's the problem with Vyse's mom?

Yeah honestly I don't blame the natives chance for revenge like this, got to take it.

Kinda of bummed didn't get to see more of a immediate aftermath of confession but hey they're capable blue rogues so they were able to handle the mission.

What to say to this, honestly yeah I'm with Aika on that Vyse didn't handle this well. Honestly Vyse I don't think Vyse could have really done a better job at having this conversation with Aika because he doesn't have that good of a silver tongue. Maybe if he went with the argument that he can't focus on developing a romantic relationship with either of them on such a mission and needs time to actually sort out his feelings to a proper conclusion. This would hurt but it is something you can understand compared to "its not fair".

Vyse really didn't understand how trying to tell someone I can't get in a relationship with you because I don't won't to hurt another person because I like them but also I don't won't to get in relationship with them because of your feelings. Going at it like this is just going to hurt everyone.

You know I've heard the phrase dying is easy, living is hard before, so I've tried to look up where the quote comes from. The most famous source of it seems to be the Hamilton musical, but I know it must be an earlier aphorism than that. I'll have to do more research.

Read all up to date on 3 days over at ao3, but since i got an account here dropped by to review and what can I say? Awesome story! It brought back so many memories when I first played it over 15 years ago... Sad we never got a sequel but hey, maybe you can write one? Tackling the mysteries of the black moon like you hinted.

Oh, you are a complete dick for that title! It fits perfectly, but I was waiting for the worst the whole chapter. Especially after what happened in the last one. Once again, you have Vyse show just how brave he is, and how much he's willing to risk so he can save another one of Valua's victims. Sometimes it's braver to not pick up the sword, but to hold back like he did while someone is doing their best to kill him?

He's earned that hat.

This chapter showed so well the roles that the three play in the trio. Vyse is the heart, Fina is the soul and Aika is the brain. A brain that was divided over trying to protect the man she loves and doing the right thing. You showed her worry so well, and her faith in her man.

And as for the Angel of Death, I actually watched the video for this part after I read this, and I have to say what you have here is far superior to canon. You brought her arc to a much better close. One that makes sense for a woman who has been so scared that she would never have taken Vyse at his vague word like she did in the game, and it was all the more powerful because of it.

There is no better way to defeat the Angel of Death after all.

I hope we see her again, but if we don't then this is an excellent send off in an amazing story.

That was marvelous chapter.

Honestly I get Fina trouble with dealing with the sea. Changes in sleep patterns can be pretty grueling. When I develop tinnitus I could barely get sleep for weeks until I adapted to it.

Interesting, handled questioning Drachma pretty well for being abandoned. I almost lost them, I would like a little bit more context of the near deaths more. Possibly some haunted thoughts a near death hit from an explosive a hair splitting call in a fight that nearly killed his team, and all because Drachma choice made them take a path that Vyse himself hates he had to take. I suppose the big question I have is way does Vyse look up to the blue rogues oath so much, I get it is his dad and also the Valua pretty heinous, just wondering if there is something more.
