Only just finished the first chapter, but I had to leave a review and say that this one of the most well-written fan fictions I've read.

So after the one year later epilouge, Dan just end up alone with his manipulative, bitch of an ex taking his kid away? Becuase honestly that would be awful. This guy has been nothing but manipulated by almost everyone and has gone trough hell while everyone else pretty much gets what they wanted.

A well done conclusion to the story. As I've said before, you telegraphed the breakup well in advance so there was no surprise there. The shocker was the epilogue 'one year later'. Sneaky! I don't remember 'allure' in the original run of Gen13 (except for Bliss), did that get added in later on or is that something you tossed in yourself?

Oh how sweet, he's being all noble, and stuff. It's nice to see Kat recognizing her allure at work though. It's something that we don't see a lot out of the Gen's, the acknowledgement of some of their ancillary powers. Oh and way to catch her before killing a friend. It's just too bad that the IO operatives didn't get to overhear it. Maybe they had a recording device, but if not it is still a good lesson for Kat to learn.

John so doesn't deserve a woman as understanding and perceptive as Anna. Of course then again nobody does.

(upon reading the phone tap)
Oh dear, and everything was going so well too… silly phone calls on non-untracable cell phones. They need a trace buster, buster, buster! Of course now it looks like your keeping the conversation clean enough for the prying ears. Instead of DRAMA! It is merely drama for the guys at the office. Poor Dan the office soap.

Anna is certainly being capricious this story. It is nice to see she doesn't forget those she's met and befriended however. The depths of her perfidy still amuse and amaze me at times. She really has become almost more human than human in her ability to understand humanity. All in all a splendid ending to Adult Education. I almost have to wonder now if your going to pull parallels for each of the other Gen's complete with Anna manipulating events, dates, and endings.

I begin to feel inadiquate in my own writing. I don't have anything nearly so fun as far as twists and turns planned for my story, at least in my opinion. On the other hand at least I don't have anyone as capable as Anna that I need to write for so I guess that excuses the lack of super duper forsight based plotting.

Its sad to see Andy having to break up with Annie, although it’s the outcome that I always sort of thought had to be. While it looks like everything is on the road to happy break up’s and the resolution of issues somehow I doubt it will go that smoothly.
You missed a misspelling of Anne once in the middle of the chapter, just for consistency’s sake I mention it.
A-nd as I read further it appears that things may be about to collapse like a house of cards. Poor Dan, I guess nobody warned him that Caitlin’s allure gets worse when she’s worried or under stress… poor guy. Also someone should really tell her about the lethality of lethe. I’m surprised a bit by the fact it hasn’t been fully explained to all of the ‘kids’ already.

As for the rest, it looks like it will be somewhat tricky to finish that conversation about dumping. The chapter title makes a lot of sense in this context. It really IS hard t break up with a Gen who's allure goes into high gear when you start...

The gift was great. Even better in execution than the dim recollection I have of its preparation.

The sequence with Andy was also very nice. The way he’s managing to get more information without tipping his hand was really well done and worthy of a standing ovation.

Then this bit with Andy on the midnight op, that’s just creepy, and I’m thinking a dream or induced hallucination. Either way it’s a spectacular bit of discombobulated and discombobulating writing. It’s really well done for a dream sequence. No explanations, just improbable skips that I’ve dreamed through as well.

As for continuing misconceptions they are more than amusing, I still love Kat's jaunt cross country being entirely different in reality than in how everyone else sees it.

Having made it this far into your GEN 13 Story, I thought it only fair to say thanks. I've always thought the characters had great potential, and while there were a few glimpses of it under John Arcudi's writing period, and in the limited series "Ordinary Heroes," for the most part the series was hit and miss.

It's good to see some old friends (the characters) given a new lease of life. You did a good job of writing teenagers, some black-ops people and a few others. While you're probably moving on to greener writing pastures, you still deserve a heart-felt thanks for your efforts so far.

Cheers,

MacShimi

I think the thing I love most about your stories is that I don't just read words on a page, hollowly talking about characters in a story - I follow people through their lives, experiencing the highs and lows right beside them. You, my friend, have a beautiful gift. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Ahh such good and twisted fun you have created here. Yes I did see Dan getting back with his Ex. She really does seem to suit him better. What I think will be interesting is how she and Kat get along once the cat is out of the bag. I'm continuing to like Andy and of course Anna. She's certainly changed from the Catepillar story. I want to see Sarah end up going to her to have a little conversation. Or maybe the girls get together to talk things out cathartically when Kat finds out. Somehow I don't see her just letting Dan off the hook so easily. Especially so once the women in that triangle get to talking and perhaps start revealing more of themselves to each other. As for Jared, oh dear, the close calls and ships passing in the night. It seems almost destined for sadness.

The story takes some time out from plot development to concentrate on characters this week. The development felt believable all round, although I'd thought that Dan was more conscientious. I'm sure that Kat would understand even if she didn't forgive him for it, but I somehow don't think that they're going to last. And Jared was close; if he's thorough, IO might chase up the 'strippers from Toronto' and blow the Gens' cover

Although I was disappointed by the lack of real forward movement in the plot what with the recent dearth of updates for this story and all, I'm glad that you got over the sticking point in Dan's backstory. Overall, it was an entertaining and enjoyable chapter.

Chpt 11: Brilliant! I never would have guessed how you twisted that situation. Plus, the end is heartwarming and sad. Just what every story needs just a touch of. Can't wait to read more!

I have to say, I had my suspicions about the ease of capture in the last chapter, and it's nice to see that Jack is still one step ahead.

Interesting chapter, particularly the character development of Stephen Callahan.

Oh, we see a bit more from Dan's point of view - I like how he compares the Gen's reality to that of IO, and finds that the latter's argument is subversively convincing.

We also get a sweet family moment with Roxy and Sarah, but the real meat of the chapter is in the wham ending, where we see Roxy and Sarah captured by IO. The next one should be interesting.

Finally took the time to read nine, with ten as dessert. Very nice, as usual. Amazing what trouble teenagers can get themselves into, eh? Stinkin' smokers! ;o) I'm very much looking forward to more.
