This is wonderful! You and I have the same experience! This is my senior year of high school and we're doing Footloose also. I originally wanted to play Rusty, but I was cast as Vi. I wasn't happy at first, but she's definitely my favorite character now :)

I really like your descriptions of the house and of Vi. I've been having trouble finding stuff on her to develop my character on, so this was a huge help. Thank you so much for helping me with my character; that means a lot to me!

Very nice, I think it's super cool how you used the dialogue from the show. It feels and conveys the same emotions as when I did this production ( I played Ethel) I think this is a good piece that could easily stand on it's own.

Note: In no way do I mean to offend or anger you. With that in mind, this is in no way original. At our high school, we did this musical.

And this pretty much the exact script that we used.

Verbatim, actually.

So you say you wrote this, I don't believe you.

Don't take credit for other's work. The only bit of originality are the parts that aren't dialogue.

But yes, every word the characters speak are not your original words. So don't try to convince people otherwise.

But congrats on getting the part of Vi.

And at least you know how to write.

This is great. I just got cast as Vi and I'm a sophomore. This character study is really helpful. It's ironic cuz I was just writing one earlier also. Anyway, great job :)

Well done, really enjoyed reading this. I recently played Shaw, and (perhaps biased?) view Vi and Shaw's stories as the heart of the show. This scene is an amazing scene, as so much gets said, but mostly through the words that the three characters *don't* speak - you captured this really well.

MAIDEN!

What happened? I tried to message you and FF told me you had disabled messaging! I had to review this just to get to you! What's going on?

I was so impressed to see someone had written a story about Vi! Like you, I was cast as Vi in my school's production of "Footloose" this year, and like you, it wasn't the part I originally wanted. But I know what you mean when you say that you grew to respect her... she's definitely my favourite character now... the voice of sense. I loved doing this scene; I think it shows her character very well without telling... it's all in what she says and does. And this character study is excellent. I wish I'd done one now... I could have gone so much further if I'd really examined her from all angles. I think you must have done an excellent job. And you're a great writer, too! From one Vi to another, thank you for shedding light on Mrs. Moore!

Wow! This story was amazing. I was recently in a production of Footloose and Vi was one of my favorite characters.

This is already such a powerful scene and you just added to the emotion. In this scene we see the Moore family dynamics and the changes in them. You have not only conveyed that emotion on paper but you added to it. I love the way you describe things as Shaw is reading his sermon. It shows that Vi is listening to the same sermon over and over again every week. It shows the way that Vi is living life but not really experiencing it.

Just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed this and if you act half as well as you write them you're going to rock as Vi.
