Misaki Ayuzawa sat in her office trying to focus on her work but her mind kept drifting to her boyfriend of three years Mitsuo Tachibana. They had been friends before they started dating as they grew up in the same neighborhood. He had called Misaki earlier today wanting to talk and the tone he said it with let her know something was wrong.

They weren't speaking as often as they used to recently and when she got the call today, she was expecting something different. What could he have been upset about? Did something happen at work?

He told her to meet at a restaurant they often frequented when they were younger. It was there he asked Misaki to go on a date. Misaki wasn't really fond of guys back then but he somehow managed to charm his way to my heart. She truly loved him and didn't want to lose him. Due to circumstances in their youth, they bonded and he was the only male friend she could have a civilized conversation with.

Misaki spoke to a very close friend Sakura and she suggested he might've been trying to set up a proposal. She tried to convince Sakura that might not be the case. There was a feeling just telling her so.

Sakura explained to Misaki the reason they were going to the restaurant they had their first date at was for him to bring up old memories for when he proposed. Misaki couldn't deny that it felt like he was planning something as they never went to that restaurant for a very long time since we were both busy with work. But was he planning something good or bad?

"If he really was going to propose to Misaki was she completely ready for it?" She wondered.

7:30 pm

Misaki had left work around quarter past seven as she needed to prepare a proper outfit for their date so instead of staying to work overtime she left work early. Misaki wasn't usually so fussy about dressing up and Mitsuo didn't care about what she wore most of the time. However, since tonight might turn out to be a special night for them, she wanted to at least remember being dressed decently.

Misaki stared at herself in the mirror.

"Considering I did my makeup myself, I look pretty great. Enough to knock Mitsuo out of his chair if I do say so myself," Misaki joked. "Ok! I have to leave now or I'll be late. Purse, phone, car keys... check! Please let tonight be good."

Misaki Pov

I wasn't too late thank goodness. I walked up to the front desk and tell them the name of which my reservation was under.

"This way ma'am," They welcome me politely leading me to my table.

I smile as we neared the table and Mitsuo was there already. He stood up the moment he noticed me coming. There was something off but I push it aside for now. He took his seat when the host left. Weird, he always pulled out my chair for me. What was happening?

I pulled out my own chair and sat down.

"How was your day-"

"Let's just order something first," He interrupted me. What the hell was his problem? If something was wrong with him he could just tell me.

"Sure."

"Waiter!" He called the waiter that showed me to the table. "Bring us two glasses of your best wine."

The waiter nodded and hurried off to prepare our drinks. None of us said a word while the waiter was gone. What was up with him today? Something was seriously up with him.

The waiter came back with our drinks on a tray. Perfect timing. The tension was suffocating. The waiter placed the drinks on the table.

"Please call on me when you're ready to give your next orders," He said and then left us alone.

"I got the promotion I have been working so hard for," Mitsuo finally spoke taking a sip of his drink.

"That's great! You've worked for it," I congratulated him. I know how bad he wanted that job. He was finally going to work has the right-hand man for the company's CEO.

"There's just one thing wrong."

"What?" I wonder out loud. What could be wrong with him getting this promotion?

"You," He answered simply.

"Me!?" I exclaimed. What was he talking about?

"Yes, you! I have this promotion now and well you see that means I have a little status in the company so I can't be seen with just anyone," He explains with an apologetic look on his face.

"Just anyone? Mitsuo, I'm your girlfriend. I have been for the past three years. I've been there when you had nothing. When we had nothing."

This guy was seriously pissing me off. Where had my boyfriend gone? Who was this stranger?

"Yes but you aren't the ideal woman I want to stand by me at our company parties. I want someone who can reflect my status," He carried on. "You understand why we should part ways now right?"

"Did you seriously plan to dump me at this restaurant?" I said agitatedly. Had I been blind or did he change in the blink of an eye?

"I don't see the issue with this restaurant?" Mitsuo replied.

I was shocked. How could he not remember when I did? We had so many good memories and he wanted to do this here?

"I can't believe you're doing this to me!" I exclaimed frustrated. Not because he was dumping me but because of the reason. If he wanted to go separate ways because they outgrew each other, fine but he was worried about looks? Misaki always dressed and acted professionally wherever she went so what was he implying. As far as she was concerned their salaries were almost the same. He was not on a higher level than her.

"Misaki please calm down."

"Shut up," I said having enough. I didn't want to be here anymore. Not with this stranger in front of me. "I hope you're happy with your new promotion. I hope someone humbles you one day."

I walked off from our table not wanting to talk to him anymore. How could he do this to me? Somehow I end up in a bar drowning a glass of alcohol down my throat. It was the best way for me to forget the night. For me to forget what that jerk had done. The first guy I ever loved and he did that to me. I felt hurt, betrayed to a point where words can't explain.

"Oh. Why isn't it my next-door neighbor?" I heard a voice say.

I turn to the direction it came from and saw the blond guy who lived next door to my apartment. No one knew much about him. His job, family, were all a mystery.

"What are you doing here drinking miss lawyer," He asked taking a seat next to me.

I glanced at him. It wouldn't hurt to rant my anger for my boyfriend on someone else so I did. He sat there quietly digesting my every word until I finish.

"So he dumps you in the restaurant you had many wonderful memories," He spoke now understanding my situation.

"Yes," I answered trying to drink more alcohol but he stopped me.

"So how do you plan to get back at him for that?" He questioned me.

"I actually don't know..."

"Do you want me to teach you?"

"Teach me what?" I wondered.

"Teach you how to become a woman he truly regrets dumping," He explained more clearly.

A/N: I had plans to delete this story cause I didn't like it for a while but I've decided to take down the old chapters and change them up a bit. I will start updating the chapters one by one each week since I do have other stories to type out. However today there are two chapters updated. The story has the same plot but some parts will either be removed or slightly changed.
