Connect Four

"You can't get lucky playing this game, that isn't fair." Ty frowned, watching as Dom dropped the last red circle to connect her three others. They had been playing for about an hour and each time she won. Ty slouched in his chair, kicking his legs in the space between the table.

"Don't be a sore loser." Dom smirked, letting the pieces fall out from the bottom of the contraption.

Now glaring, the seven year old sat up in his chair, knocking the game over on the table. "I don't wanna play anymore.."

"Mmm but I was having so much fun."

"Be quiet." He mumbled, pulling a knee up to his chest.

"Do you want to play again?"

"...Only if I can win."

"So no. I'm gonna order a pizza."

Thunderstorm

"Get out from under my bed please."

"I don't like the loud sounds Dommy." Ty grumbled, laying on his back underneath the raised bed.

"Well I don't like you laying under my bed so you're gonna have to deal with it."

Ty pulled himself out before quickly trading out his spot from underneath the bed to climb on top of it.

"No! No. No. No. Get off, Ty."

The seven year old shook his head as another loud crash shook their apartment. "No I can't!" He shouted, frantically climbing onto the merc's lap.

"I'll kill you before the thunder will. Off."

Again he shook his head, wrapping an arm around her neck while another jolt of thunder sounded above them.

"Oh my god, you're so weak." She reached down to pick up his stuffed Trex off her floor. "Hug this instead."

Ty held the toy under his free arm, leaning his head against her chest. Dom rolled her eyes.

"This is a one time thing. I hope you know that."

Field Trip

"This is the brachiosaurus it's a sauropod and only eats plants and-"

"A herbivore, Ty." Dom corrected as he pulled her along to the front of the skeleton. "Yes! A herbivore! And it ate up to 800 pounds of food a day! Sauropods are the biggest dinosaurs but this brachiosaurus isn't the biggest. That's Titanosaurs-over here!"

The eager little boy pulled Dom over to the adjacent and much bigger reconstruction. They all looked the same to her.

"They say this one's the biggest but they only found it two years ago so there's probably a biggerer one somewhere. It weighed 70-tons, Dommy! That's more than 10 elephants together."

"Wow."

Ty grinned, pulling her to the carnivores section of dinosaurs. "These are my favorites. Most people think TRex is the biggest carnivore dinosaur but that's not true. Spinosaurus is the largest of all carnivorous dinosaurs, larger than the Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus!" He explained, pointing up at the large fossilized beast. "But don't worry Dommy, it didn't live here. Only in North Africa."

"Mm. Well that's good to know."

"Uh huh! It ate mostly fishes though because it liked to swim." He nodded, staring up in awe at the skeleton.

Dom found his excitement about these things oddly refreshing. "What about this one, Ty?" She smirked, pointing to the one across the room that surprisingly resembled his favorite toy.

"T-Rex!" He grinned, ecstatic to finally see his favorite dinosaur. "Dommy look!"

"I know!"
