Okiii, so hey guys! It's been six years y'all! I'm a full-grown adult, and I'm having to deal with the guilt of still being a weeb. Welcome to my nightmare. This story was… very badly written. English is not my first language, when I wrote this, I thought I had written Romeo and Juliet. Oh boy was I wrong. If you are like me an adult who used to write fanfics in English, read back your previous work, it is honestly hilarious and it is very embarrassing.

Anyways guys, I read a comment about how this story needs an ending, and you know what? Imma give it to ya, because I remember what it's like starting to read a story that you like and realize, ? wait? that lazy piece of shit writer didn't finish it ?. I'm breaking the cycle!

So here goes, this is the first chapter rewritten in better english, not perfect, better, cause yes nit used to be worse. Chapter 2 is being written now. I'll try to wrap up the story quickly, because I have real world problems and I can't have this on my plate as well.

Prologue:

? Love is supposed to make you feel good, why does it have to be so hard with you? ?

Misaki and Takumi were finally together. After overcoming many obstacles, they were reunited. He was back in Japan with her after four years of living as a token grandson in England (more like a prisoner).

He had returned home or as he called it, the place where my love lives. He was fully embraced by her family who already saw him as one of theirs. He still had to visit Britain often, but it did not bother him. At least, he got to be with her… when she was available. Unfortunately, her hectic schedule made it very hard for them to see each other. He was himself enrolled in one of the most prestigious university of Japan and was following a medical program designed specifically for him. It was a dual curriculum in partnership with one of Britain top medical school.

As for her, she was still studying to be a lawyer, the stress and the pressure she had to deal with were constant given how competitive that field was. She lived on her own, in the dormitories to be specific. Unfortunately, students could not live outside of campus and they couldn't have guests during the day, or the evenings. The worst part was that living in the accommodation was very expensive and she still had to support her family financially, because as she put it Sakuya was an unreliable sad excuse of a father. She had barely any money to spend on leisure.

Her university was hours away from home. Train tickets were expensive… very expensive. And the trip cost her a lot of time. When she wanted to come home, she had to take 3 different trains, then 4 buses and finally walk 20 min to get to the metro station. This whole charade amounted to 250$ per trip and a whole day she could have otherwise spent studying or working. Usually Takumi would drive her back to uni.

? I've given you everything! Why am I not enough for you? ?

Usui was living in his old apartment, but he barely spent any time there. The Ayuzawa house had become his main residence. Suzuna and Minako had welcomed him with open arms. He would often come by to cook dinner and help with chores. Soon enough he became a fixture in the household. He had fixed the wooden floors, and basically everything that needed fixing around the house. He was also attending to the garden, and basically remodeled the whole house with the help of Suzuna who got the best deals on everything.

Soon enough, he moved in her old room and became the ? man of the house ? as Suzuna put it. Misaki's sister was in awe of him. Everything he did impressed her beyond belief. His cooking/baking skills inspired her to work harder on hers. They spent a lot of time in the kitchen trying out recipes. As she became a part of the Maid Café, she started assisting him there too. Their friendship only grew stronger. That is when he started confiding in her… He was frustrated by how incompatible his and Misaki's schedule were. He was sad that romance had not been an option in their life in a long time. He was terrified at the idea of losing her.

As she walked away, they both understood it was over.

Nothing was more essential than her. His life was scheduled around her free time which was pretty much nonexistent. He didn't complain, not that it wasn't inconvenient for him, but he loved her, and he supported her. He was very proud to be her man because she was strong, hardworking, cute, crazy, smart and inspiring.

He visited her every chance he got. He would rent a room in the neighboring city then organize some fancy date that would almost always end up being cancelled because she was too busy that day or had to leave prematurely. They called each other every night before bedtime, and they would text throughout the day. Unfortunately, her busy schedule hindered their communication. Suddenly, phone calls had to be scheduled a week in advance and they would often be cut short because of some assignment she had to finish.

She was drowning: work, school, family, him. Something had to give, but she didn't want to sacrifice anything. She wanted to believe that she could do it all. On top of that she had trouble fitting in school. Everyone came from a wealthy family, she didn't. So, they treated her like… trash. The teachers didn't take her socioeconomic background into account. They made students buy expensive books worth two months' rent. How was she supposed to get that sort of money? Her scholarship barely covered the cost of rent. They would give homework assuming everyone had the same time to work on them and never tried to accommodate those who needed some extra time, except if they were the sons or daughters of such and such. She was no one, and she knew it. She worked three jobs while still being a student. Other students had resources she could not even dream of having.

He wished his girlfriend wasn't so stubborn and would accept his help… his financial help. That would make it easier for both of them. Every time he brought that up she would get angry and would cut the conversation short. So, he took it upon himself and paid off her family's debt, he also paid her rent for the next two years and credited her lunch card. This led to an argument that lasted for weeks. Misaki felt betrayed. She wanted to make it on her own. It was supposed to be HER success. What was her value if she couldn't take care of her family? if she couldn't succeed on her own? if she was a burden to the man she loved ?

He knew she would be upset, and he was ready to endure her full wrath. It was too painful for him to see her struggle this much. Getting an education shouldn't be that much of a hassle; She on the other hand was too proud to admit that she needed help and she was on some level grateful that he took out the thorn on her foot. But this came at a cost: Her confidence, her sense of self, her sense of worth, everything was shaken.

Being upset that someone who cares about you helps you financially might seem trivial for someone who had always been taken care of by their parents, but it's not. Not because it's inconsiderate, it's incredibly nice. But it's not just about the money, it's about power. It's about balance in a relationship. Usui was not just some random benefactor, he was her boyfriend. The man she envisioned building a future with, getting married to, raising beautiful babies with. Now she felt indebted to him. The worst part is he knew. He knew she didn't want pity. He knew she didn't want charity. He knew she wanted to make it on her own and he didn't respect that. It hurt her deeply, more than she could say. She couldn't even be angry or complain because who complains that their boyfriend paid for them? She should feel grateful, but she felt cheap.

She didn't know how to cope with all those feelings. She was burned out, between school, work, and now a shaky love life, how was she supposed to deal with all of that. She had not have any friendly interaction in a while. Sakura was busy being a mom, and Shizuzo had already joined the workforce. She was alone. Minako and Suzuna were team Takumi on this one and made her feel like a monster. "Why are you complaining about this?" "If Hinata did this I would fall in love with him all over again".

She found herself alone, sad, and angry, so she cut off all communication between her and the rest of her loved ones. She dedicated the rest of the year to thriving academically and soon enough she gained people's respect at school. He on the other hand was struggling to keep it together. His heart was bleeding. He hadn't seen her or heard from her in months, and he couldn't bring himself to visit her because he was terrified that she would just break up with him.

Suzuna was also on the verge of a mental breakdown. Hinata had gone back to his village a year prior to save his grandfather's farm. There he met someone. A woman, two years older than him. They used to go to the same school and she worked as a milk maid. They had "an affair" of sort. He didn't love her, but he liked the attention. She used to make fun of him for his weight and now, she was in his bed. That made him feel manly, knowing that he could attract other women. When he was younger, girls hated him, and his first love rejected him. Of course, he felt awful and lied about it because he didn't want to hurt Suzuna. Unfortunately, she found out about everything when she went to visit him. That woman came and taunted her. She remained emotionless but her soul was crushed. When she came back home she resembled an iced statue. Takumi almost immediately understood that something had happened. Suzuna remained silent for almost a month. The shock of losing both her sister and boyfriend within the same timeframe had annihilated her. She and Takumi were there for each other as they were both hurting. He was the only one who could understand what she was going through. The staff of the maid café also greatly helped. They would organize several "dating games" during which men would compete to take Suzuna out for a fun date. That's how she found her new boyfriend Tamaki-kun.

The months of silent between Misaki and Takumi had consumed her as well. Although she was thriving at school, she felt incomplete. She was too proud to attempt anything. That's why Aoi took it upon himself to fix their relationship. After scolding Misaki, he arranged a date between Takumi and her which resulted in them making up. Their relationship thrived after that. Thanks to Takumi's influence, Misaki was able to move out of the dormitories and they rented a place near her uni.

Things were going smoothly. Suzuna and Minako were sad to see Takumi leave and insisted he came regularly. They had formed a very strong bond. Misaki on the other hand had a secret. When she and Takumi were fighting, she applied to a program overseas, and she had recently found out that her application had been accepted, so she was going to America next year. She didn't know how to bring up the topic, so she didn't. Hoping that this would be magically resolved until one day he found a letter in the mailbox about Misaki's enrollment. This lead to the biggest argument they ever had, and they broke up.

Love wasn't supposed to be this hard. It was not fair that she always made him compromise. It was not fair that he was the only one fighting for them to be together. It was cruel that she lied, that she didn't involve him in the decision-making process. He had been nothing but supportive, but he was tired of being tired. The emotional tole their relationship took on him, on his mental health was unfair. He had to take a step back because he couldn't anymore. He couldn't fight for them… not when she was always creating new obstacles. So, he ended it. He broke his own heart but he did what he felt was right for him.

But at last, destiny had plans for them. She left for Boston. They stayed in each other's lives and their breakup was not always so clear as they often found each other. Afterall love doesn't just disappear, and it seemed that they had an abundance of it for one another.

Four years later, they finally got to be together again for one special occasion.

She stood there, motionless, wearing that ivory, uncomfortable dress, designed by some trendy French stylist with a pompous name. She was terrified… frozen in fact. She could see it from miles away: The Raven castle.

It had been almost a year since her law firm merged with some British firm. She had recently taken a case and was summoned to go to London to seal the deal. It was probably not a coincidence. As soon as she had left the building where the client meeting had taken place; she was escorted in a limousine and given this horrendous attire to wear.

She was very late, but it seemed like the ceremony hadn't started yet. They were probably waiting for her, duh! With all of the work she had, it was a miracle she even made it. She wanted that damn promotion. She knew her family, and especially her sister wanted to organize it in Japan, but now that he was a part of the family his opinions mattered too.

She turned on her phone and noticed that she had hundreds of missed calls. She took a step back ready to run away: no, she wasn't ready for this. It wasn't supposed to be like this. It was supposed to be their special day. Why was it taking place here? Why was it her? Her family tricked her into coming. They probably thought, this would make it okay. But things could never go back to what they were. The question was, why was he okay with this? She loved him, she was crazy about him. She just needed time to process everything. Why was it forced down her throat? Why was it happening so fast ? Of course, she wanted him to be happy, but she thought she would get to be part of the reason why.

Why was the love of life marrying her sister?

You're late... A certain blond alien declared.
