Hey guys. I have abandoned this story so many times and restarted so many times. But no matter what I always end up coming back to it, in drawn into this storyline I created and I have fo finish it, even if that means a complete overhaul of the story direction. I don't expect many if any at all of my original readers to still be here. But if you are still out there I am so so grateful for you hanging on and to any new readers, welcome. I hope you enjoy this chapter, its part of the new story direction, thank you all for being so patient.

Lacey stared in disbelief at the test, it had to be wrong she thought to herself, she couldn't be pregnant. She was definitely old enough and definitely had the ability to be pregnant but no, she couldn't be. She couldn't be a mother, she couldn't drag a child into this world and raise them in the crazy environment of her and her father..her father. She sighed as she thought about him, he would not be happy about this, he was already disapproving of her relationship but for her to be pregnant, this was bad, really really bad. She stood up with shaky legs and tried to hold back vomit, she wrapped the test back up and slid it into her pocket, she would deal with this later. She wasn't ready to think about it and she certainly wasn't ready to tell her father, she swallowed, thinking about it again, her father would be so mad. She looked at herself in the mirror, she was so pale, looking like she had seen a ghost..she had only done this test for her own peace of mind but it hadn't gone the way she thought it would. Rinsing her face with water she left the bathroom, she was going to pretend this wasn't real, just for a day.

"Lacey?" Her dad spoke, making her jump.

"You scared the life out of me dad! What the hell!" She smacked him across the arm in anger.

"What's got you so jumpy today?" She stared at him, did he seriously know something was up, how could he, maybe she was just being paranoid, he didn't know, he couldn't..but maybe he did. Lacey's mind was spinning around in circles, this was not how she intended to one day find out she was expecting, everything just felt like too much and she burst into tears. Now her father was really confused, he stared at her, wondering what he had said to make her feel this way.

"Okay" he put his hands in the air "I'll go" he chuckled to himself as he walked away, as he slowly disappeared into the other room he turned around, "wait a second..is this to do with Nygma?" His face suddenly getting more scrunched up.

"..it's..it's a bit complicated dad" her voice shook speaking those words, she wasn't wrong, it was complicated and she couldn't exactly say it wasn't because well it was, she was pregnant. Lacey sighed, she was actually pregnant with his child, Roman took steps towards her, his face looking more and more angry.

"Did he hurt you?, because if he did..well you know exactly what I'll do to him" Roman was seriously angry, no one hurt his girl, especially not that piece of shit Nygma. He really didn't know what his daughter saw in him.

"No! No, dad he didn't hurt me" Lacey rushed to say, the last thing she needed right now was her dad going insane.

"Then what?" He cocked his head to the side, "you better tell me, or I will go over there right now and-".

"I'm pregnant!" She screamed at him before he really did go over there and hurt him, shit Lacey thought, bringing her hands up to her mouth, the look on her dads face told her exactly what she thought his reaction would be and he didn't even need to say it, he was angry, not at her though, he was angry at Edward, he sighed, smiled and left, not a single word spoken to Lacey.

This was bad.

Really really bad. He never reacts to anything this weirdly, not even when she first starting dating Edward, but this was different, very..different. She grabbed her phone knowing she had to call Edward to warn him, it was very likely her dad was heading to his now, and she didn't know what to do, she couldn't follow him, that would make things worse, and a screaming match between the three of them was not what she needed right now. She sighed again, looking down at her phone, what was she supposed to say?.

Oh hey Ed, yeah so my dad is probably coming to you right now and he probably wants to kill you, oh why? Because im pregnant! Isn't it great?!.

Yeah, she chuckled, that conversation would be great. She placed the phone down and got up, burying her face into her hands, this is really not how things were supposed to go. She really didn't like it when things didn't go how they were supposed to.

She walked around the room trying to calm herself down and think of what to say to Edward, she knew she had to warn him, it wasn't fair for him to find out this way, especially not from her hot-headed father, but nothing she could think of worked, either way someone would be angry. Edward if he found out from her father about the news of him being a dad or her dad about the news of her warning him.

In the end Lacey decided not to do anything, the anger from her dad would be worse, and she needed her dad right now.

Lacey waited around for what seemed like hours, until her dad walked back in the door, blood all over him. She stood up "dad what the fuck?" She gasped as he came into the light, there was a lot more of it than she thought "you didn't.." Lacey whispered thinking the worse.

"No, no" her dad spoke softly taking off his jacket, "I just made him understand that he has a child coming into this world".

"Oh great" she stifled a laugh "yeah brilliant thanks dad, not like I wanted to tell him myself or anything" he walked over and grabbed Lacey by the shoulders.

"You have always been mine to protect, and that imbecile of a man child was never and will never be good enough for you. Now that your bringing my grandchild into the world, you are carrying on our bloodline, something I will not allow to be tainted by someone like him and his stupid behaviours, this time I am serious Lacey, you will listen to me when I say that man is not to come anywhere near you or this child, trust me this time I'm not playing any games" she stared in disbelief at what her father was saying.

"So your going to deny him of any chance to prove himself, you can't keep him away from his child" Roman presses the bridge of his nose in stress.

"I can and I will" he said very seriously, "he has had multiple times to prove himself to me and you and he hasn't done that. I will not let him do a practice run on my grandchild" he walked away from Lacey, turning to say one more thing "my word is final Lacey, you will not see him again, it was one thing to have fun and mess around while your still young, but this isn't a joke anymore, this is our bloodline" he finally stepped away, retreating to his bedroom. "I will guide you" he whispered in italian as he walked away.

Lacey sat down in shock, he was actually banning her from seeing him. Under normal circumstances, anyone her age would just disobey their fathers orders. But this wasn't normal circumstances and her father was not a normal man. He meant every word he said and she was scared about what would happen if she didn't listen to him.

Buzz. Buzz.

She looked down at her phone, Ed.

She froze in place, she couldn't answer.

Life had changed so much in the space of a few hours, and the little thing inside her had caused so much drama already.

She was in for a long ride.

I hope everyone enjoyed this short chapter, I feel so guilty for abandoning this story so long ago. I had so much going on and the last thing on my mind was writing a story, but since we are all on lockdown in my country what better time to finally finish my story.

Thank you to everyone still hanging on and thank you to all my new readers.
