Hello! I'm back! Sorry for the long wait, I suck! Did I already tell you I graduated Law School? Now I have to study to take the equivalent of the Bar Exam, which is really hard, so that takes most of my time, I hope you guys understand. I hope you like this chapter!

Charlotte wasn't surprised to hear she'd been grounded for a month, she actually expected, but it was okay, she could see Ethan during school, which was great, except they weren't allowed to kiss.

A dog trainer would come and help the women train Kira, Sophie would train with her whenever she could as well.

Two weeks into being grounded, Charlotte was starting to really miss Ethan and her friends. She knew what she did was wrong but she hated the punishment part.

One Tuesday afternoon, she was sitting at the dining room table doing her homework with her cell phone on the table when it vibrated showing a text from Maya. A few seconds later, a text from Ethan came.

"Char, no phone during homework, you're supposed to know that by now!" Beca said as she sat on the other end of the table working on a song.

"Sorry, I know but I'm almost finished!" Charlotte said.

Beca sighed and let her see the text, after all, the girl was already being punished enough. The teenager grabbed her phone and read the two texts before frowning.

"Maya and Ethan said there's going to be a party this weekend before the Holidays," she said. "Maya said it's supposed to be at Colin Peterson's house."

"Who's Colin Peterson?" Beca frowned.

"This Senior who has an older brother already in college," Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Which means there's going to be booze in that party."

"You know you're grounded, right? You can't go," Beca said.

"I wouldn't go even if I wasn't grounded," Charlotte said with a scoff. "Ethan's asking if it's okay that he goes without me."

Beca looked at her for a moment, but Char was typing a response.

"What did you say, if you don't mind me asking?" Beca asked her daughter.

"I said sure," Charlotte shrugged. "If he knows what's good for him, he'll be in line. I won't forbid him."

"You're pretty smart," Beca said. "Where'd you get that from?"

Charlotte looked at her mom and smiled before blushing.

"Maya said her parents allowed her to go, so she's going with a few girls from the chess club," Charlotte said.

"Cool," Beca said.

"Yeah, Maya's always liked parties more than me," Charlotte said before setting her phone aside to finish her homework. "Oh, I just remembered!"

Beca turned back to Charlotte.

"The auditions for the Winter Musical open in two weeks, I'm going to audition!" Charlotte said. "I mean, I don't really wanna become a Broadway star but I figured it's a way to start."

"That's great, honey! Want me or ma to coach you for it?" Beca asked.

"Well, it'd be great if Aunt Stacie and Aunt Bree could coach me too," Charlotte said. "I want all the help I can get."

Beca chuckled and shook her head.

"You'll be great, honey," she said, turning back to her work.

Chloe was in the middle of an important meeting with her associates in her office when her phone started going off in her pocket. She ignored, thinking she'd just call the person back, but her phone started going off again. Again, she ignored, but the third time it went off, she excused herself to check who it was.

Beca.

"I'm so sorry, I gotta take this, it's my wife," she said before excusing herself and getting out of the room. "Hey babe, is everything okay?"

"Not really. The principal at Sophie's school called, she's been suspended," Beca said and she seemed to be in a hurry. "I'm going down there, can you come with?"

"Yeah, I'll be there, stop you from getting Sophie expelled," Chloe joked, trying to lighten the mood, knowing just how stressed her wife could get. She could hear a sigh on the other end and knew Beca had actually taken a breath.

"I love you, did you know that?"

"Well I've heard that before, but you can say that more often," Chloe smiled. "I love you too, I'll meet you there."

Chloe hung up, explained to everyone what just happened, gathered her things and left. Her office was further away from the school than Beca's office, so she knew the brunette would already be there by the time she made it.

Sure enough, Beca was sitting outside the principal's office, pacing. There was no sign of Sophie.

"Chlo, thank God!" Beca said when she saw her wife. "Ms. Banks will be right with us."

"Did she tell you what happened?" Chloe asked.

"No," Beca sighed.

"Okay, deep breath," Chloe said. "We'll listen to what they have to say, okay?"

Beca nodded.

Another couple arrived shortly after, both said quick hello's to the two women before the principal called Beca and Chloe in.

"Good afternoon ladies," she said as they came in, Sophie was sitting in front of her desk, arms crossed, her mad face was pretty evident.

"Sophie! What happened?" Beca said, greeting her daughter.

"Sophie hit a classmate," Ms. Banks explained.

"What? Soph, why?" Chloe asked.

"Cody and his friends were bullying Alexis during recess!" Sophie said. "She was crying!"

"Why didn't you tell a teacher?" Chloe asked.

"There wasn't any teacher or adult around," Sophie said. "Cody started hitting Lexi, he was hurting her! I was just trying to stop him!"

"Wait a minute, who's Lexi?" Beca asked, confused.

"You used to know her as Aydan, mommy," Sophie said.

There was a moment of silence.

"Wait, Lexi is trans?" Beca asked.

"Yeah, she transitioned during the summer, that's why the boys were bullying her," Sophie said.

Beca and Chloe gave each other a look before looking at the principal.

"The boys were hitting her?" Chloe asked.

"No, just Cody," Sophie said. "And I wanted to stop him, Lexi was crying!"

Sophie had tears filling her eyes, maybe out of frustration or compassion for her classmate.

"So you hit him?" Chloe asked.

"No, I kicked him in the back," Sophie said. "I know I'm not supposed to but there wasn't anyone around and Lexi was getting hurt!"

Beca looked at the principal.

"Is Cody also getting suspended?" she asked and she could see the woman shrink in her chair.

"No, actually," she said. "We couldn't verify Sophie's version."

"Oh so our daughter gets in trouble for defending a classmate? Sophie's never had a problem in her life!" Beca said. "She was defending a trans classmate, something your school failed to do!"

"She hurt a classmate in the process," Ms. Banks said.

"I'm not saying she should get away with it, I'm saying that boy needs punishment too! He got himself kicked," Beca said.

"Mrs. Mitchell-" Ms. Banks started.

"I'm afraid I agree with my wife, Ms. Banks. That boy was bullying Lexi just because she's trans," Chloe said. "Your school could have serious legal problems for this."

Ms. Banks sighed.

"Alright, Sophie you're no longer suspended, but you will stay in detention for the next 3 days," she said to Sophie, who nodded.

"I expect to see punishment for this boy, that's a hate crime!" Beca said.

"Becs," Chloe put her hand on Beca's thigh.

"Mamma, she's right, imagine Cody growing up like this, because no one taught him, no one punished him. He could kill someone," Sophie said.

Chloe was surprised.

"I agree with my daughter," she finally said.

"We'll see about Cody's punishment," Ms. Banks said before getting up. "Thank you both for coming, ladies."

The three women shook hands before getting out. Beca expected to run into Cody and his parents, but in the hallway they ran into what was probably Alexis and her parents.

"Lexi!" Sophie said and ran in the girl's direction. "How are you? You okay?"

The blonde girl had short hair, surprisingly feminine features, green eyes, freckles and she had a busted lip and a bruise on her forehead. She was wearing jeans and a purple shirt, her hair was barely past her shoulders.

"I'm better. Thanks again, Soph," she said.

"No problem," Sophie said. "I'm no longer suspended, but I do have detention until Friday,"

"That's good!" Alexis said.

Beca and Chloe made up to the two little girls, hand in hand.

"Hi Lexi, it's nice to meet you," Chloe said.

The little girl blushed.

"Congratulations on coming out, Lexi, that's very brave of you," Beca said, which made the little girl smile. "And congrats to you two, that's a very courageous thing to do."

The couple smiled at them.

"Thanks," the blonde woman said. "We just wished it was easier for Lexi."

"Hopefully, it'll get easier," Chloe said.

"Mamma, is it okay if Lexi comes over Friday? We could have a sleepover! I don't have dance Saturday morning!" Sophie said.

"Of course," Chloe said with a nod.

"She's more than welcome in our house," Beca said. "If you're comfortable with it."

"Actually, we're so happy, we want Lexi to have friends," the man said. "I'm Scott, by the way."

"And I'm Melissa," the couples shook hands. "We're so thankful for you, Soph, thanks for defending Lexi."

"No problem," Sophie said.

"And we're happy you guys are okay with it, we were afraid of Lexi losing friends," Melissa said.

"We understand, when Charlotte, our oldest daughter was younger, we only let kids come over or let her go on a playdate unless it's been explained to them about us," Chloe said.

"You two are.. a couple?" Alexis asked.

"Yeah," Chloe and Beca smiled.

"Mommy and mamma are awesome! Next year, you can come to pride with us! Mommy is a huge gay icon!" Sophie said.

"Yeah, it's great, we're invited to give speeches, to sing, to go to parties, it's very fun," Beca said. "You all need to come with us next year."

"We'd love to," Melissa said.

"Mamma, give them your number so Lexi can come on Friday!" Sophie said.

Chloe chuckled and exchanged numbers with Melissa before the six said their goodbyes and were off to their cars.

When Friday came along, Sophie came home from dance and went straight to the shower. She was running around the house all happy her friend was coming over, she kept telling her sisters she was having a friend over. For once, Charlotte was happy for her little sister, Sophie spent so much time going to dance she didn't get to hang out with friends very often.

Charlotte was trying to enjoy her time at home, it was awful staying inside all day, especially since she still had one week to go for her punishment. She was thankful she could still text her friends, use her computer and all, otherwise she didn't know what she'd do.

Chloe and Sophie went to the kitchen, the little redhead was talking all excitedly about what food she wanted for her sleepover. Sophie was one of those kids who weren't very fond of junk food, she enjoyed eating right, wouldn't ask for anything different. What she did love was pizza.

"Alright, Soph, I already told you we can order pizza," Chloe said with a giggle, setting a bag of groceries on the table. "Can you put that away for me, baby?"

"I'm not a baby, mamma," Sophie said, grabbing the juice from her mother and walking towards the fridge. "I'm a big girl."

"Sorry, honey," Chloe said with a smile. "Dare I ask what topping of pizza you want?"

"I have to wait for my guest," Sophie said.

Chloe was surprised by hearing that.

"Ma, what are we having for dinner?" Charlotte said. "Any chance I can go pick it up?"

"Sorry Char, you're still grounded," Chloe said. "We're ordering pizza."

"Char, you can hang out with Lexi and me if you want," Sophie said. "We can play a game."

"Should I be worried I actually wanna hang out with my little sister?" Charlotte asked rhetorically.

"Hey!" Sophie said.

"I'm kidding, if you guys are cool with it, we can play a game," Charlotte said.

"Alright," Sophie said excitedly when the doorbell rang. She grinned widely and started jumping up and down before running after Chloe, who had gone to open the door.

"Hello!" Melissa said, standing behind Alexis, who was holding a pillow and had a backpack on her shoulders.

"Lexi!" Sophie said, hugging her friend tightly.

"We have a family lunch tomorrow, so I'll pick Lexi up at around 10?" Melissa said.

"Of course," Chloe said as she held Kira back so she wouldn't jump on Melissa or Alexis.

"Come in, Lexi! I wanna show you my room!" Sophie said, taking Lexi's hand and running inside, both girls followed by Kira.

Lexi put her stuff down and the two girls played with Kira before going back downstairs.

"We're ordering pizza, what kind of topping do you want?" Sophie asked.

"I like pepperoni," Lexi said.

"I love pepperoni!" Sophie said before they went into the living room where Chloe and Charlotte were sitting on the couch. "Lexi, this is my big sister, Charlotte."

"Hi Lexi, nice to meet you," Charlotte said with a wave and a smile.

"Nice to meet you, too," Lexi said.

"Char's a teenager already, she has a boyfriend," Sophie said.

Lexi nodded.

"Ma, where's Leslie?" Sophie asked.

"Your mom's bringing her home," Chloe said.

"Okay," Sophie said. "Ma, Lexi wants pepperoni pizza."

"Your guest wants the same topping as you? Shocking," Charlotte said.

"She actually chose pepperoni," Sophie said.

"I did," Lexi said.

"I'm still shocked that a 3-year-old liked pepperoni, it's spicy!" Charlotte said.

"I like spicy," Sophie said. "I also love guacamole."

"Oh yeah!" Charlotte realized. "You like spicy food?"

"Yeah," Sophie said. "Anyway, we'll be outside playing with Kira, call us when the pizza's here."

"Okay," Chloe and Charlotte said.

Beca suggested everyone play a game together, so they went to the movie room to play. Since they were in an even number, they played charades in pairs. Sophie was very excited and wanted her team, which was her and Lexi, to win, but Chloe explained that that may or may not happen, so she shouldn't get her hopes up too high.

Charlotte's phone kept going off but she ignored it, she was having fun and she didn't want to hear about a party she wasn't even in. All the details she could hear about later, even from Ethan. She was glad he was texting her but she didn't want to stay glued to her phone.

Sophie wanted to stay up with Lexi, but Chloe and Beca didn't let her stay up past midnight, claiming she couldn't tire Lexi out on her first sleepover at her house, otherwise Lexi's parents wouldn't let her return.

During the night, Sophie had to get up to go to the bathroom, so she quietly made her way out to the hallway, used the bathroom and as she washed her hands, she thought she heard a noise coming from her big sister's room. She dried her hands in the towel before walking down the hall to Charlotte's room. Yeah, she was definitely crying. Sophie temporarily forgot she was supposed to knock and just opened the door to see the teenager sitting on her bed with her head in her hands, crying. Only her night light was on as she looked up to see who had come in.

"Sophie?" she asked.

"Sorry Char, I know I'm supposed to knock but I heard you crying and I was worried!" Sophie said.

"That's fine," Charlotte said.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Sophie asked, getting closer to her sister's bed.

Charlotte looked at her little sister and eyes filled up with tears.

"Ethan cheated on me," she said.

Sophie gasped as Charlotte started crying more hysterically. She sat on the bed and put her arm around her big sister as she thought.

"I'm so sorry, Char. Ethan is a big asshole," Sophie said.

"Sophie, you're not supposed to say bad words," Charlotte said.

"I know and I usually don't, but this is an exception," Sophie said. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Can you get me a glass of water?" Charlotte said. "I need to take something, I feel a migraine coming."

"Okay," Sophie quickly went to the kitchen and got a glass of water for her sister, making sure she had taken her medication before going back to her room and trying to get back to sleep. She was very worried for her sister.

oO0Oo

After Lexi went back home, Sophie made sure to go and check if Charlotte was awake. She realized their mothers didn't know what had happened and she knew it wasn't her place to tell them. She was just nervous to see how Charlotte felt.

While Chloe and Leslie went to the store, Beca stayed home with the girls. There was some work she had to get done so she was in her office doing that. Sophie was in the living room watching TV, waiting for Charlotte to wake up when the doorbell rang.

Sophie saw through the security camera in the front door that it was Ethan and she immediately went to open, putting on her best fake smile.

"Ethan!" she said as she opened the door.

"Hey Sophie, can I please talk to your sister?" he asked, looking nervous.

"Oh, sorry, Leslie isn't home," Sophie said.

"No, I meant Charlotte," Ethan said, looking confused.

"Oh, sure!" Sophie turned around before turning around again. "But before I get her, I wanna show you a new dance move."

"What?" Ethan was even more confused and a little anxious.

"My grand battement! I can get it really high now! Wanna see?" Sophie said.

"I just wanna talk to Charlotte," he said, clearly in a hurry.

"Pleeeeeease, Ethan?" Sophie put on a puppy face and pouted.

"Fine," he said.

"Okay, stay there," Sophie stepped directly in front of him. "5, 6, 7, 8,"

As Sophie kicked her right leg up, it went straight between Ethan's legs with all the strength she could master. He jumped and groaned loudly in pain before falling to his knees.

"What was that for?" he asked as he held his groin.

"That was for cheating on my sister!" Sophie said. "A grand battement isn't even a new dance move!"

Sophie closed and locked the door on his face, turning around and seeing Beca come out from her office, followed by Charlotte coming down the stairs, both looking confused.

"Sophie, who was that?" Beca asked.

"It was Ethan," Sophie said and saw Charlotte immediately tense up.

"What did he want?" Beca asked. "Why didn't you let him in?"

"He wanted to talk to Charlotte," Sophie said. "Like I was going to let him after last night. So I kicked him in the nuts instead."

"What?!" both brunettes said. Beca horrified and Charlotte amazed.

The teenager ran over to her little sister and hugged her, lifting her from the ground and spinning her around.

"Wait, what's going on?" Beca asked. "Sophie, why did you kick Ethan?"

"He cheated on Charlotte," Sophie said. Beca looked at Charlotte and the teenager wiped a few tears before looking down, confirming what Sophie just said.

"I'm so sorry, Char," Beca said, hugging her daughter. "And Sophie, you have to stop kicking boys!"

"I would but they never learn, mom!" Sophie said. "You can't tell me Ethan didn't deserve it."

"He deserved it, but still," Beca said.

"Thanks, Soph," Charlotte said. "You're the best sister ever."

Sophie smiled.

"Are you feeling better, Char?" Sophie asked.

"A little," Charlotte said. "Knowing you kicked that scumbag in the nuts actually made me feel a lot better."

Sophie stood proudly.

"What about your migraine?" she asked.

"Oh it's gone," Charlotte said.

"Wait, did he cheat on you at the party?" Beca asked.

"Yeah, Maya texted me, he drank beer and she sent me pictures and videos of him dancing with another girl and a few pictures of him kissing that same girl," Charlotte said.

"I'm really sorry, hon," Beca said.

"Thanks," Charlotte said with a sigh. "Being a teenager sucks."

"Hey, being a teenager doesn't suck," Beca said. "Some parts do but don't hate your teenage years because an idiot cheated on you. Not all your relationships will be like that."

"Thanks mom but I don't wanna think about relationships at the moment," she said. "I just wanna stay in my bed."

"Want company?" Sophie asked.

"Sure, I'd like that," Charlotte said. "You know, I miss being your age, Soph. Because a skinned knee hurts a lot less than a broken heart."

Beca offered her a sympathetic look and stroked her arm.

"I'll be down here if you need me," she said.

"Thanks," Charlotte said, her and Sophie went straight upstairs.

Tough few weeks for Charlotte, huh? Tell me your thoughts! I promise I won't be too long with the next update!
