A.N: I think I have an exact number of chapters we have left. This and the next one are the last of the finale, and then the third we get an epilogue. I'm also working on an art piece for this story, only when I have time that is. I'm working a lot but I really want to do something special for this story since it's the last of the trilogy and part of my first story I've ever written.

Finale Episode: Where there is Light... (part 6)

"No matter what you did, I forgive you?" Mary repeated the words written in the paper. "What could my mom be referring to-" she stopped short and looked at the Black Lantern Power Battery pulsing with black energy. "Did my mom have visions of Blackhand?"

Vivian shook her head in disgust. "If she saw what he did, how could she ever say that? What about all those things he did people… and his family? Just for a science experiment."

Mary gave a hard quick nod, crossing her arms as she turned her back on the Black Battery. "Vivian's right. It's why Blackhand was chosen to replace Nekron. He's practically perfect for the job."

A burst of Black Energy shot out from the sides of the lantern. The three teens ducked as waves of black rolled across the desert lands before slowly disappearing. "What just happened?" Cody asked.

White Lanterns and their fellow Lanterns finally were able to put a dent into the Black Lantern army. Even the Entities powering up their hosts were able to completely annihilate some Black Lanterns from existence. Only about half of their enemies remained.

Everyone had been driven to win, especially the Interceptor crew. The Hal created a giant construct hand to grab Nekron in a tight grip. Nekron commanded his scythe to fly out of his hand and embed itself into the construct hand. The Black Energy caused the hand to burst into stardust. Before Nekron could use his scythe on Hal, a large green hammer slammed into the back of Nekron's head before disappearing.

Holding his head in pain, Nekron looked up in time to see the Interceptor fly by again. It made a sharp U-turn back towards him and Hal. Nekron expected Killowag to make a construct from inside again, but this time blue energy came from the lower gunner as white energy came from the top. Nekron twirled his staff to create a shield but he was easily pushed back by the combined energies. When he regained his balance, Nekron saw the Interceptor fly away but Hal stay put holding his bat at the ready.

Suddenly, a wave of Black Energy swept the battlefield. Nekron felt his energy double, and Hal could see it from where he was. Nekron's scythe lit up brighter. Hal looked around and noticed more Black Lanterns had shown up. Hal could only guess the surge came from Blackhand. What were Mary and her friends doing?

The teens looked around, expecting something to happen after that burst of energy but nothing. They got back to thinking. Cody was the first to break the thought process, "Maybe… maybe your mom saw a chance though. Maybe she wrote it because she saw him do something worth forgiving him."

Vivian rolled her eyes. "I see what you're trying to do Cody. But if there were any records of him doing any sort of volunteer work, it would have been in the files Tommy found. He died testing his experiment on himself. Besides, there is no amount of good he can do to make up for what he did."

The Black Lantern ounce again let out a wave of energy which got Mary to look at it with a curious gaze. Then Vivian said, "Sorry Mary, I'm sure your mom meant well but if she knew back then the kind of hell you've gone through, she would never make you forgive him."

Mary's eyes widened. "You-you're…. You're right, Vivian. My mom would never make me do something he doesn't deserve so easily. I don't even know Blackhand enough to forgive him. But Cody is also right. Mom wrote these words for a reason." Mary looked back again at the paper and the glass of the Black Battery. Like clothes ina dishwasher, the energy inside swirled in a vortex. Mary could have sort she saw eyes and maybe a hand. Very Human. "Those spurts of energy are Blackhand's reaction to what we've been saying." Cody and Vivian looked confused before turning to each other in shock. "He may not be all there but words were written down because he can still hear us. What we say will break him out. But… I don't know what to say."

"Well, just say something," Vivian said, "We don't know how much time we have left."

The Corp leaders with their enhanced powers along with other white lanterns hovered in a ring formation protecting some colored lanterns from getting overwhelmed by the new Black Lanterns that had shown up. The undead also formed a ring, but to surround the lanterns and move closer to pressure them into moving closer together.

Siantwalker folded his wings to give space to the lantern's they were being pushed towards. "We must hold fast." Everyone nodded even though there wasn't much to go off with but that.

With Hal and Nekron, the white lantern had run out of the amount of bat's he's reconstructed. But he still had a lot to say. "We'll keep stopping you, even if we all die trying over and over again!"

"Then what will you revere then, nothing? No one?"

Everything Nekron had been saying finally clicked with these last few words. Something that had been bugging Hal the whole time. He mustered enough power into his bat, using it as a conduit for a massive amount of white energy to push Nekron away. The space between them allowed Hal to say, "You want to be like them."

"What?" Nekron asked a bit surprised Hal would stop to talk in the middle of a fight.

"The Life Entity. You don't hate them, you envy them."

Nekron didn't move. Showed no emotion. He just hovered there with the scythe hanging there by her side. Without warning, he disappeared. Hal raised his bat and got ready to swing to wherever Nekron would appear again. His white and green rings blinked twice and Hal swung left. A scyth imbeded into the bat, managing cut through it but stope short of Hal's face. Hal's eyes widened and he saw the intense determination Nekron had. "I deserve this body! To feel emotions. So that I can be more then what I was made for. If I can't have it-" Nekron pulled back the scyth, breaking Hal's bat once again. "Then no one can!" And Nekron swung his scyth forward

Mary slightly panicked. What could she say? No way was straight up forgiveness an option...yet. Mary looked back at Cody. He said her mother may have seen a chance in Blackhand. Feeling a little more confident on what to do, Mary took a deep breath and faced the glass. "Nekron promised you power, and you got it. But it's too much. You've seen how bad uncontrollable power over death is. You want to stop this all, to fix everything. But you're afraid if you try you won't be forgiven."

The Green Lantern held up the paper with the words in hand. "I still stand by it. You have done nothing to deserve forgiveness. But if what my mom saw is true, and redemption is what you want, then i'm more then ready to give you a chance. Because the only way to forgiveness is the first step forward."

Ever since Hal had figured him out, Nekron was playing on nothing but instinct now. Out of sheer willpower and fear he broke several of Hal's construct bats. And out of anger and sadness, he had Hal by the color of his shirt and punching him repeatedly in the face. "Like you've never wanted to be more than your destiny." Nekron stopped when the White Lantern energy Hal had was only started to heal the bruises in Hal's face. "Look at you. A Green Lantern who defied death!"

Hal coughed between words. "For the sake of other's destinies… Not for mine. You want to be the only living thing for yourself. But that's not your destiny. No matter what you do, you can't escape it."

"No… NOOOOOOOO!" A scythe formed along Nekron's right arm as he raised it high in the air.

Nothing happened for a few moments after Mary said those words. Cody and Vivian braced themselves for another burst of energy to come from the Black Battery. Mary watched the glass intently, her eyes shifting as she tried to spot any little change. "Come on, come on… you miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

All of a sudden, the Black Lantern's light through the glass faded as an odd silence swept over the desert. The Battery had powered down on its own. That's when Mary saw it. A pair of eyes staring at her through the glass. She stepped back into Cody and Vivian who had come closer. Cracks then began to form on the surface of the battery.

On instinct, Cody grabbed Vivian and Mary's hands and created a wormhole just before the Black Lantern Battery exploded. They didn't see a humanoid figure surrounded by smoke shoot into the sky like a missile as the entire planet shattered down the middle.

))))))))))))))) Battle over Oa (((((((((((((((

"I'm my own maker," Nekron said with shaky breath as he got ready to bring the scythe on his arm down onto Hal's face. "I decide!" As Nekron brought his weapon down it disappeared completely. "What the-?" He looked around as he saw Black Lanterns stop fighting.

White and colored Lanterns all stopped going on the defense when the Black Lantern's rings began to blink several times. Then as if the rings were people, they dragged the bearers away by the hand. Black Lantern bodies moved away from the battlefield in different directions. "Where are they going?" Sinestro asked.

Indigo was right next to him to answer, "They are going to go back to where they were laid to rest."

"So that means…" Kyle began.

Atrocitus finished with chest out and a surprisingly genuine smile. "We've won."

Any black energy in a smoke form that had been left around disappeared. Everyone from lanterns, to Betrasians, the Gor, the fugitives, and droids all celebrated by giving each other a pat on the back or hugging it out. This battle, the entire war, was finally over. Ligtht beat death. Or at least that's how it looked to a majority.

Hal, however, watched in both satisfaction and pity as Nekron let go of him and moved away. The Black Lantern leader held his head as his eyes shifted from pure black to brown. His ring fluctuating as the powerful amount of energy he had began to disappear. "Go back- BLACKHAND- I'm in POWER!"

Then Nekron went almost limp. He still faced Hal but he let his head hang low. He said with a croak in his voice, "I only wanted my rightful due."

Hal nodded. "I may not understand how you feel, but I understand why you did this. You want to be revered, but everyone fears death in the end. So, you took possession of a body so that way you have control over condemning everyone to death and destroy The Entity. So that in the end, you are the only living person to feel emotions. You'll be the only Entity people will have to revered. That's the path you thought was the only one. But you know why you can't

Nekron said without looking up, "There is no life without death. It's all in the balance." Then Nekron finally looked up. His eyes still black. "So my destiny is to be a mindless drone, feared by all?"

"I think you've proven that there is no such thing as mindless Entities. You were still driven to think your path and feel jealous. I think you can feel more than that. As for your destiny, it's an important part of life. It's wrong for people to fear what's a part of life. But not everyone fears death. And I assure you after today, more people like me will be more understanding. Might even give a chance to make your own path, without killing so many to do it."

By then, the White Lanterns, Corps leaders, and any other nearby lanterns comeNekron shook his head. "You'll give me a chance?"

"Only a chance. I'll see if I can talk to The Entity."

"You're…. Extraordinary, Hal Jordan."

Nekron shut his eyes and gave a deep sigh. Then he took a deep breath and looked around wide-eyed in shock. His brown eyes shifted around. "Wha-woah! I did it!"

Hal looked at Nekron confused before crossing his arms and saying, "Blackhand?"

Hearing his name, Blackhand looked up at Hal with a relief. "Yes! Yes, that's me I'm Blackhand." He pointed at Hal and said in almost disbelief, "Your daughter helped me break free and gain control." He looked around, seeing the last of the Black Lanterns leave. "And I… I stopped the war."

"I'm glad Mary helped you fix everything. So what's next?"

The Interceptor coming to a stop behind Hal and Blackhand made both lanterns look at the ship. The ramp below opened up out came Killowag, Razer, and Aya. Aya was surrounded by white energy that formed the ten-foot-tall humanoid form of The Entity around her. Blackhand looked down at his gloved hand, and then looked at every inch of his suite. "I thank you for that, Hal Jordan, but I didn't fix everything." He looked back at Aya, then at the Entity that surrounded her. "And there is no way I can fix my mistakes from when I was alive." He turned to fly towards Aya and said, I only did one good thing, I think it's only fair you decide where I go."

Aya began to speak, but the movement of her lips matched the Entity's. "You have long since past, and your past actions have already decided your time had come." Blackhand nodded. Then Aya added, "But one good thing can change your direction."

Nothing happened at first, and then Blackhand felt a tingle in his fingers. He looked down to see his hand disappearing, leaving a trail of white stardust. As his whole body turned to stardust, he smiled and said, "Thank You." And then he was gone. The Entity surrounding Aya disappeared as well, leaving her only with enough energy to create a personal shield around her. All that was left was the Interceptor crew with one member short.

A member who coincidentally flew out of a wormhole with her friends behind her. Cody and Vivian's jaws dropped as Mary's hands covered her mouth. Hal waved at them and said, "Hey."

"You're… you're alive!" Mary yelled as she flew so quickly towards Hal that she knocked the wind out of him when she hugged him. Hal managed to recover without ruining the moment and hugging her back. Killowag came around and put a large arm around his friend's shoulder. Even Razer and Aya joined, the Blue Lantern putting a hand out for Hal to shake while Aya leaned into Razer in a hug of their own. That's when everyone, from Lanterns of all colors to B-0's ships surrounded the crew. They witnessed in front of them a small, mixed up, and mighty crew all come together for the first time in a very long time.

The moments were peaceful, but they could only last for so long. Aya pulled away and the humanoid Entity appeared around her again. "It is time…" she said.
