Author's note: Hey guys! Been awhile, huh? (ignores the date). Finally, I am out from University and is now currently working and seeing that I have a job and surprisingly managed to set myself a schedule, I decided to update some of the stories starting this one. Although everyone might be thinking that I've passed on I am not actually dead, ahahaha. I've been in a soul searching journey and since I finally found my groove, I got swept away by the craze, and the craze is UNDERTALE! That's right! I've played the game and I've been writing fanfic and drawing fanart it in archiveofourown and in tumblr for almost a year. But since the hype is slowing down I think it's time for me to visit my old stories and I've read all your comments, and dammnn guys. Thank you. Thank you so much. Your comments, your compliments and overall enthusiasm has inspired me to keep on working.

I am happy that you like it even it's been so long since I updated it. So, when I found out that my life is starting to come into order I thought, what the hell, I should get back into writing. And here I am.

I am starting with Finally and this chapter is pretty short but I want you guys to be informed that I am back into writing. So, here's a little treat. Enjoy!

Warning: there might be a few words that I've missed, after all it is 1:55 am here in my country time, so forgive me!

Settling Down

Chapter 3

"And this is your room." Winny opened door number 6 showing Todd a room that's consist of two bedrooms, a window, a closet, a desk with a lamp on it that is near the window and a study table. They are all consist of wooden walls, floors and a wooden bed. The orphanage is not much but it is definitely in need of funding because Todd can see a mouse hole near one of the beds, and some roaches crawling around the walls.

"You will be introduced to your new roommate, Kevin. You can find him at the backyard if you like to meet him." Winny continued as Todd explored his new home. "Dinner's at 6 pm and light's out will be at 9 pm, so be at your room at 8:30 sharp before one of the sisters and I checked in. If we caught you out of your room before curfew you will be punished accordingly. You will be homeschooled from now on. The orphanage cannot afford in paying your tuition fee to your old school so sending you to school is no longer a possibility, but my sisters and I are willing to educated you, it is the least we can do in order to maintain your education."

Todd dropped his bag on the bed that isn't occupied with someone else's stuff. He turned to stare at the woman with dead eyes, clearly not interested to her rules and regulation. Winny fidget for a bit before lowering down her stern figure. Her eyes soften and her lips lowered into a frown. She sighed as she approach the boy.

"I understand if this is really new to you, and I've talked to officer Lotto about your situation in regards to your parents abandoning you on the spot while you're away at school, which is the most despicable thing to do, but here you can view this as your new home. You are safe here, Todd. Maybe someday you will find a new family that you could love." Winny bend down to Todd's level smiling kindly at him.

Kill that bitch

Todd ignored the dark voice whispering in his ear. He could feel Shmee's presence in his bag, sensing the desire to main and to kill.

Winny waited for him to say anything but seeing Todd's dark eyes lowered and not speaking she figured the boy is not feeling up to it. She understand the emotional struggle that he is facing with right now and so she will give the child some time to himself.

"In the mean time, Todd, why not enjoy your time here." Winny stood up dusting her skirt and smiling at him one last time. "If you need anything you can always come to me, I'll be at my office or at the study center if you want to talk to me."

Todd just watched her go.

Winny slumped at his lack of response but with a patient smile she just wave at him. "I'll tell Kevin to show you the place around. I would love to be the one to do it instead but I am in the middle of something right now that needs my attention. So, if you have questions asked Kevin."

And with one final look, Winny closed the door and left.

This is perfect. We could use this opportunity to steal their money and ran the hell away from this place.

Todd sighed as he lay down on his bed, feeling both emotionally and mentally exhausted.

"We're not gonna ran away Shmee." Todd curled himself into a ball. "I am not up to it for anything right now."

Alright friend, it seemed that you're tired. I guess trying kill that officer is a bit too much for you. I should have considered the limited strength that your young body holds. We will try again next time.

Shmee waited for his friend to say anything but hearing no sound he assumed that he already fell asleep. Shmee didn't get out from his place inside the bag he decided to just wait till his little boy wakes up and then the real fun begins.

Finally

A small ray of light shot through the room forcing Todd to scrunched up his face from the sudden attack. Then Todd heard voices from someone young. He squint to look through the glaring light to see a boy his age closed the door and jumped on his bed. He has ginger hair and freckles on his pale skin. He wore a simple white t-shirt with the word "kool-aid" and black and white jersey pants. Right now he is wearing his only his socks and is now munching a cookie.

This must be Kevin, Todd observed silently as he chewed the treat quite obnoxiously. Todd shifted just slightly, hoping that his movement didn't caught his attention but sadly it did. It is enough for Kevin to picked up. He jerked at the sight of Todd waking up, his face already showing his guilt. So, the cookie is not meant for him to eat. Well, there's a whole new meaning about catching you sticking your hands in the cookie jar.

"Ah-hey?" Kevin nervously laughed. "Ahhhh… yeah, don't tell Ms. Winny about this, okay?"

Todd just stood up from his bed and just stared at him with empty eyes. They were both quiet for a bit, and seeing Kevin sweat amuses Todd. Then a sound came out of nowhere. It sounded like a dog growling. Kevin jumped at the sound before zeroing on his belly. Todd realized that it's coming from him as he wrapped his arms around his stomach trying to stifle it's sounds.

This breaks the ice as Kevin just laughs and walked up to him holding a plate of cookies. "Here, you've been sleeping for awhile now and you've missed dinner."

Todd shyly reached out the plate and murmured his thanks.

"Don't sweat it buddy." Kevin jumped on his bed causing the mattress to jiggle at the force of his body. "You're Todd, right?"

Todd just nodded, nibbling his treat.

"Ms. Winny told me I'll be rooming in with a kid name Todd." Kevin said as he took one cookie and munched at it vigorously. "Damnnn, Elli's cookies are pretty good, huh?"

Todd didn't say anything.

"Not much a talker, aren't'cha buddy?" Kevin watched him with big brown eyes, curious and non-judgemental. "Cat got your tongue?"

Kevin teased him. Todd tensed at his tone but seeing him smile in a friendly way made him consider him. He's no bully, nor a jerk, and he's been nice to him so far and not to mentioned he offered him some cookies, so maybe it's okay to trust him?

I wouldn't be too sure about that

Todd continues to ignore the voice as he smiled at Kevin nervously, his lips twitching but despite the anxious way he looked Kevin just grinned at him.

"We're gonna be great pals, Todd."

And hearing that, Todd felt hope that maybe staying in the orphanage won't be so bad.

Inside the bag lies Shmee. The demented Teddy Bear taste the hope in his host flowing around his mind and he hates it. He wants the boy to be brimming with rage and resentment but instead this child is holding on. He's strong, emotionally strong, he did not expect him to be this strong. Not even the parents action could break him, and that isn't good for his plans. He needed him to be depended on him but if he starts to make new friends then he will be abandoned and be replace with someone else, someone real.

Shmee will not allow it. He cannot stand to see his boy with someone else other than himself. A fury of possessiveness and jealousy started to corrupt the cotton filled toy. He will make sure that Todd will never leave him but for now he will lie in wait. No matter how aggressively angry he is right now, he needed this boy, this "Kevin" to teach his host about the new area they are living. He needed to be sure that him and his boy will come out alive once they live. He knows for a fact that leaving right now without a concrete plan will surely kill them.

He will make do for now.

Todd didn't notice his best friend's dark menacing aura or the calculating look he was receiving from the now opened bag. He was too focused at Kevin's funny stories until they both fell asleep on his bed. Smiling in his sleep, Todd couldn't believe his luck. He has a friend he can call his own.
