TW: Blood, abuse, violence.

The first insult is what caught her attention.

The first smack upon the head is what twitched her little finger.

And the hands wrapped around his neck is what made her bring her down to the floor and swing the screwdriver up and down.

Repeatedly.

Non-stop.

Without a wince.

Her face was blank but rage gleamed in her violet eyes. Her little hand wrapped around Goldie's throat so she won't have the chance to fight.

Was it the alcohol that made her act up? Mary couldn't remember how many shots she had gulped down. Was it the trigger of something she experienced in her early life? Was she attempting to save him or trying to destroy the memory that was acted upon in front of her eyes like a theater? She had the feeling it was a mixture of both.

Suddenly she stopped.

And stood up.

Blood tainted her gown, as well as her little hands that committed such a horrifying act.

Goldie was wide-eyed, not moving but still breathing, horrified at what happened to her. Then, her shock turned into anger before she started to scream curses at Mary. But that was not important to the violet-eyed woman.

Stanley stood behind her, rubbing his throat and coughing from the attack that was acted upon him before he stared down at Mary.

The air was uneasy, the pair stared at each other wide-eyed. Mary wanted nothing more than to run. Just to get out of the spectacle she created. Meeting his family was a terrible idea.

The house was silent and frozen before Stanley wrapped his arms around the petite girl, squeezing her close to him. Mary could tell he was crying from the shaking shoulders and the shaky voice he spoke with.

"Thank you..."

Mary remembered what she did to Goldie, what Goldie did to him. What she could've done if Mary hadn't intervened.

...Perhaps visiting her love's family wasn't such a bad idea after all.

God, it's been a long time since I wrote something. And needless to say, I'm quite happy how this turned out, despite it being so short.

Stanley is Slappy's real name in my headcanon, as he must've had a different name before Lindy Powell.
