"Isadora, no, please don't." My brother pleaded. "No, Duncan!" I said. "Isa?" Klaus looked at me, his voice cracked and tears ran down his face. "Isa, why?" He asked. My heart stopped for a moment. Should I really be doing this? I wondered. "She's joining my troupe because she's sick of you little brats." Count Olaf sneered behind me. The wind blew in my face, cold and merciless. Like me. "Eleysky." Sunny said. "What Sunny means is that you don't have to do this Isadora." Violet explained. I shifted my gaze to her but didn't say anything. "Let's go Isabelle." Olaf commanded. "It's Isadora." I corrected him. "Well, whatever your name is, follow me." He barked. I winked at Klaus and he nodded. "Wait! Take me with you!" Klaus called. Olaf stopped walking and turned back. "Y-you actually want to come with me?" He asked, completely dumbfounded. Klaus nodded. "Klaus? What? No, you can't!" Violet said, grabbing at his arm. He turned towards her and shook his head, it was barely noticeable, but Violet got the message and let him go.

Klaus came over to me and locked his pinky around mine. His touch sent a shiver down my spine, but I savored every second of it. "Any other volunteers?" Olaf asked. No one spoke. "Fine," He said, "Henchmen, kill them." Klaus and I instantly panicked. "Wait!" Klaus called. "What is it, nerd?" Olaf said. "M-maybe you should keep them alive. You know, in case anything happens to me and Isadora, you have a backup for getting the Baudelaire and Quagmire fortunes." Klaus reasoned. Count Olaf thought for a moment then said, "Fine, don't kill them. Yet." He said. "Orphans, get in the car." My hand reached to my pocket, the familiar shape of my gun was still there. Good. I thought. "You ready?" Klaus whispered, his warm breath tickled my neck. I shivered again and nodded. I pulled the gun out and pointed it towards the back of Olaf's head. "Isadora, no!" Duncan shrieked, but I had already pulled the trigger. The bullet shattered the awful Count's skull and his lifeless body slumped to the ground. I put the safety back on the gun and dropped it. Klaus grabbed my waist from behind and steadied me.

I shut my eyes and rested my head against Klaus' chest. "Did we really have to do that?" I asked him. He let out a shaky breath. "Yeah…" He mumbled, his grip on me tightened and he pulled me closer to him. "Isadora?" Duncan whimpered. I opened my eyes and stared at my brother. Suddenly, the weight of the whole situation settled on my shoulders. I started hyperventilating, and dropped to my knees. "I-is he dead?" I asked. Violet nodded, dropping Olaf's wrist. "There's no pulse." She said. I shut my eyes again and my head fell into my hands. "Sorry, Isa." Klaus said, wrapping his arms around me. I shuddered and shivered, tears streaming down my face. It was for the greater good. I thought, but didn't really believe it. "Hey, come here honey." Klaus whispered, he cupped my chin and pulled me into a kiss. All others thoughts left my head and I kissed him back. Haven't done this in a while. I thought, melting into his warm embrace. Police sirens jolted the both of us out of our fantasy world. "Come on, we have to go!" Violet said, and the five of us ran off into the woods.
