Scarlet Jagger was like any human. She didn't have any fur growing on her skin, had any ears or any bushy tail. A couple years ago, Scarlet saw a werewolf. It happened when she was a child at eight years. She had some neighbors. But one of them didn't act like anyone that was normal. One night, a young Scarlet had spied on him through the window. She had just witnessed the very thing that would terrify any kid in the world: a werewolf transformation. Her neighbor, Mr. Harris, the very nice old man, turned into a terrifying sight. He started to glow blue, and he was surrounded by puffs of smoke. Once the smoke cleared, there was no Mr. Harris standing in the yard. Instead, it was a massive, wolfish monster! A monster Scarlet could only identify as a werewolf. He had teeth sharper than an ordinary wolf's, big wolfish eyes, wolfish ears, a long and bushy tail, a long pointed snout, and black-gray messy fur covered his huge body. Scarlet watched as the werewolf walked around the yard and leaped out into the shadows of the city. Since that night, Scarlet had nightmares of the huge terrifying ordeal. Weeks later, Mr. Harris died of old age before Scarlet could question him. However, Scarlet thought she could get answers easily by watching werewolf horror movies and reading books. Scarlet found out that a werewolf's weakness is silver, and that it could either kill or cure them. When Scarlet was thirteen years old, she settled off on her mission: To cure werewolves. She made silver darts that were to cure a werewolf once shot. However, her plans have been thwarted ever since she met a pink poodle. The poodle looked harmless, but when he stopped her from shooting silver darts at a red werewolf, he left behind a tuft of fur, which Scarlet had identified as wolf fur. Ever since then, Scarlet had encountered the poodle more than once. One day, while Scarlet was briefly taking a job at a ice cream parlor, she met a boy named Freddy. Freddy knew her name, but Scarlet decided to let it be. One day, Freddy went to Scarlet's place, in which she allowed him to become a member of her wolf hunting team. When they were hunting werewolves, especially at night, Scarlet didn't know that Freddy was avoiding the moonlight for some reason. When they had fallen into a hole, Freddy and Scarlet talked about werewolves. When Freddy questioned why Scarlet would want to hurt werewolves, she explained that what she really wanted to do was to cure them from their curse. However, Freddy thinks that werewolves aren't really cursed and that they were trying to help humans. Scarlet just bursted off laughing, not really believing those things. Since that night, Scarlet and Freddy have been friends. They ran into each other when Scarlet's family was on a camping trip on the same night as Freddy's school. Scarlet's grandmother thought Freddy for some reason, even going as far to try to force him into the moonlight. The next day, Scarlet had met Freddy's best friend, Batty, who acted like she didn't trust her and was very wary. That night, Freddy and Scarlet's grandmother chased up into a tree cornered by snarling, red eyed werewolves. Scarlet and her family used fire to chase them away. One day, Freddy showed up at Scarlet's door. He decided to break his friendship and told Scarlet that he didn't believe in werewolves. Scarlet was so heartbroken and upset, that she slammed her door on Freddy. The next night, Scarlet was tracking down werewolves as usual. This time, she caught a ruby red wolf instead. She ran into Freddy and he stopped her from shooting the wolf. He says it was an accident, but Scarlet wasn't fooled. Two nights later, Scarlet started tracking down werewolves with two boys from her school. When the boys tried to shoot the poodle with silver darts, Scarlet tried to stop them. They were stopped by the same wolf, who started to growl at Scarlet before disappearing. The next day, Scarlet had a big surprise. She just learned that her parents were wolf hunters and they had a big wolf-hunting team. Scarlet's parents captured the poodle and had mean ways to discover his secret behind the werewolves. While Scarlet's parents and the rest of their team were busy with the werewolves that showed up, the poodle tore up Scarlet's map and Scarlet was upset. But once she heard her parents coming back, Scarlet felt what she was doing was wrong, so she hid the poodle in her backpack and ran out of the house. That was when Scarlet discovered the biggest secret. The poodle was Freddy all along! Scarlet was shocked, but upset. She didn't talk to Freddy until the very big day. After getting a call, her parents decided to start an attack on the werewolves with the rest of the team. Unknownst to them, Scarlet immediately warned Freddy and his friends about their plan. Even though Scarlet was angry with Freddy for lying to her, she was still caring deep down. During the attack, Scarlet cheered and even tried to help Freddy and his friends save the Night Patrol. Scarlet was grounded for helping werewolves, but was proud of it. Because she felt like she was helping the werewolves the right way. That day, Scarlet called Freddy to see if he was alright. But for some reason, he hung up on her. Or at least, that who was she thought. Since then, Scarlet decided to keep her distance between her and Freddy. So she stopped talking to him again. However, about a week ago, her parents brought home a mysterious shard. While they weren't looking, Scarlet was struck in a ray of moonlight by the shard. Scarlet was shocked and confused, but she decided to brush it off. However, what Scarlet doesn't know is that tonight, she was going to get the biggest surprise of all!
