Wheatley was in awe of Chell. It wasn't a secret, nor did he intend to make it one. At first, Wheatley would get so cross whenever someone treated her as if she were an outcast, a weirdo, because yes he did very much see the way they looked at her when they thought no one was looking.

It was impossible not to feel somewhat inspired by that mysterious quiet young lady. She had defeated Her (and Wheatley too even though him and also Chell didn't like to think about it) and survived Aperture testing. She continued, even when the odds were stacked against her. She was someone who never gave up no matter what, and she was smart. Even though she couldn't talk, at least not yet, she was still really, really smart. And brilliant. She was that too.

What better way to honour all of this than to surprise Chell herself? Well, there was one little ity bitty problem. Being a bumbling british guy with gangly limbs and, to be honest, a generally socially awkward person, Wheatley didn't know what to do. He had decided to borrow Chell's computer to make a quick search on the good-old google. Chell had allowed him the computer whilst she was at work, so long as she didn't break it and closed all tabs he'd read through post-use, and Wheatley used this to his advantage. When he searched up, he'd usually end up in a sector of the internet about boyfriends, despite only typing in, "how to surprise a friend who's a girl". Wheatley vaguely understood relationships, but he knew enough to successfully determined that he and Chell were currently not in a relationship of the romantic kind at this point in time. Although Wheatley had an inkling of something going on, since apparently hugs and kisses were linked to this romance business. He'd have to look into that another day.

Unfortunately, Chell was a difficult person. This was because whenever Wheatley asked her, "Hey, what do you want right now?" she'd giggle and sign, "Anything". Despite him almost babbling constantly, and Chell not saying anything at all, communication wasn't a problem. Wheatley was amazing at sign language. When he was younger he did it as a sort of pass time and he ended up being very good at it, even if he failed science and maths and all of those things. He was teased about it, but who cares, as long as you were having fun.

Just then, Wheatley's phone began to ring. He reached over to answer it. It was Samantha Garsia, or San. San was one of the very first people Chell met when she came back. According to her, San's brother had gone through Aperture testing himself, and was still alive. He went to travel the world, but before that, he stayed with her to work through the traumas. The pair became close friends immediately, both understand what they had gone through.

"Hi, Wheatley. How've you been?" San said to Wheatley.

"Ohh, uhh, I'm well, um pretty good thanks. Just, uhhh, doing something right now. It's quite important, and some help would be nice."

Wheatley told her all about Chell, and how he wanted to surprise her. Before long, he knew exactly where he was going.

"All right, luv," Wheatley said, "we're here. I think you'll, uhhh, like it. A lot, actually. You're going to like it a lot."

Chell smiled as she clambered out of the car and opened the door to the building, a bell sounding as she entered.

"Hello, welcome to Ellie Ice-scream Shop," a lady behind the counter said. "What would you like to have today."

Chell looked at Wheatley in confusion.

"Surprise, luv. This is, uhhh, ice-cream. It's very cold, luv. It's sort of like, frozen cream, that you can have flavours on. You can have lots of different flavours, such as... vanilla! It's the classic, quite sweet, but very plain. Wanna try a bit?"

Chell shook her head.

"No? Oooooookay, luv, there are lots of other ice-creams you'll like. Like, let me thing, there's chocolate, and cookie-dough... bit weird to have cookies and ice- cream together, isn't it? Or... oooh, this is one you'll like. What about mint chocolate chip? It's very minty, like the flavour of uhhhh... gum. Well there are different flavours of gum, but like the original. Unless we're talking about bubble-gum, because with bubble gum the um original flavour isn't mint. Or is it? Oh, it tastes like toothpaste. Not the gum, the ice-cream. And I nearly forgot, it has chocolate in it. Although I bet you know that, because you're so smart and brilliant. Very brilliant. Lovely, you are, so smart, and fantastic. You love chocolate."

Chell nodded, smiling enthusiastically.

"See, good old Wheatley knows what you like."

After paying, Wheatley and Chell sat at a table beside the window. Chell took a big lick of her ice-cream.

Immediately the girl's face lit up like a child on the birthday, and she grinned from ear to ear. This stuff, ice-cream, tasted amazing! Better than cake! Chell couldn't stop eating it, it tasted so good. Just then however, she felt a nasty sensation in her head. She tried to rub that area, but it just got worse. This was horrible.

;Oh, dear luv. I think you've got an, uhhh brain freeze!" Wheatley said, smiling.

Chell face changed to one of fear. Was her face, actually, frozen? She was going to die!

"Sorry luv, you've brain's not going to uhhhh freeze. Just a funny expression which is when you get too cold. Don't know why they call it that, to be honest. But, next time, eat it a little bit slower. It'll get better in a minute, don't worry."

When Wheatley and Chell got home, Wheatley got his own surprise. Chell ran up to him and just hugged him very tightly. He enjoyed her hugs, they were very warm and safe. He held her back, enjoying her warmth.

"Did you like your surprise, luv?" Wheatley asked. Chell broke away and signed one word.

"Yes."

A/N: Heyo, it's Reeah, here to hopefully brighten your day with some cute Chelley fluff. Honestly, I'm a fan of any ship, so yeeeeeeeeaaah... expect to see a huge ton of fluff on this profile. Also, I decided to do mute Chell. I always prefer talking Chell any day, but this oneshot kinda works with Chell talking. A lot of stories make Wheatley the one learning to be human, but let's get Chell into the cuteness too! Oh and yes, my OC San will be featured in more fluffy oneshots.
