Note: Some things in the tinkerbell universe might be slightly altered cause I want to give Queen Clarion a little more depth and personality as a character. I've watched the tinkerbell movies a few too many times so don't worry, everything would be changed back to normal by the time the story ends.

Hope you enjoy T_T

On a fateful day in Summer, a princess was born. The fairies were delighted. They hadn't gotten a new princess in centuries. The Queen's reign was ending and it was about time she produced an heir for herself.

Thus, on that fateful day in Summer, Queen Maeve and the then Minister of Summer introduced their newest arrival, Princess Clarion.

The Princess was mostly raised by her father, the ministers and the other fairies. Being the first child most of them had ever seen, all the fairies did not hesitate to entertain the young princess.

Queen Maeve was unrelenting and emotionless, never one with much compassion. If anything, she saw childbirth as a duty, only mating with her most trusted minister. There was no love involved. She believed that her sole purpose was to bring the seasons to the mainland on time and that was just what she did. She had never failed once in her life. However, she always got the job done and the fairies had respected her for that.

The minister of summer, Dayton, on the other hand, was quite the opposite. He loved Clarion with all his heart. He spent all his free time with the young princess, played with her, flew around with her, and kept her company when she got scared at night.

Princess Clarion was a bubbly little girl. She had the same monarch wings as her mother, except that the Queen's were silver but Clarion's were gold, and honey brown hair like her father. In her earliest years, she seemed to be a ball of energy. She ran around the hollow non-stop and flew until her energy ran out. Not to mention that her large, golden wings make her faster than a normal fairy, creating chasing after her harder than it had to be. It was hard to see how she could be related to the Queen if it wasn't for her wings. Despite everything, the fairies adored watching the young girl grow up.

Fifteen years go by and the Princess blossoms into a gorgeous, cheerful teenager. There was no denying that she was beautiful like her mother and the Queens before her. She and her family lived in the Pixie Dust Tree and she was content with her life until,

"Princess Clarion?" Queen Maeve calls. "It's time to start your training to be queen."

Clarion looks up from the flowers she was planting. "Do we have to start today?" She asks.

"I'm not getting any younger." The Queen says back. She eyes her up and down, frown deepening as she takes in her appearance. "Your first lesson can be learning not to get your skirt muddy. Go get changed and freshen up, don't keep me waiting long."

Sighing, the princess flies home to clean up. She changes into a short dress, similar to the one she wore before and goes to meet her mother.

"Did you bother to even try to make yourself look presentable?" Queen Maeve sighs exasperatedly at one look at the princess.

"I changed, didn't I?"

"Perhaps, but look at your hair. If you're going to let it down at least bother to brush it for once." The Queen grabs a brush and combs through her daughter's hair.

"Ow, you're doing it too hard." Clarion complains, trying to get away.

"I wouldn't have to do this if you would do it yourself. Your tiara's slanted." Queen Maeve repositions Clarion's tiara. "Now come, we have to go to Spring to check on the preparations. I expect you to pay attention." She nags.

Springtime Square was bustling as fairies fluttered about, getting things ready. The trees blooming a brighter pink since Spring was just around the corner.

"How are things coming along, Lily?" The Queen asks the Minister of Spring.

"We had a few problems with ladybug painting but it's all sorted out now and we'll be complete by the time the Everblossom blooms." She replies.

"That's good. As long as Spring comes on time I'd say everything is well."

From the corner of her eye, Clarion spots Daisy, a garden fairy she was quite familiar with. She turned to face toward her but as their eyes met, the garden fairy quickly turned away and carried on with her tasks. Clarion felt her heart sink. The more she thought about it, all the fairies seemed to ignore her that day. She recalled how they used to speak to her without hesitation and taught her their talents.

The Queen and the Princess continue on with their duties.

"Why is everyone so quiet today?" Clarion asks her mother later at dinner.

"Are they?" Queen Maeve inquires. "They don't seem much different than usual."

"They're not speaking to me." She said simply.

"Clarion, when you're queen there's no time to have friendly chit-chats with other fairies. You'll be way too busy for that."

"But I don't want to grow distant from them. They're my friends." Clarion complains.

"You won't need friends once you're queen. Friends waste your time and take your attention from what's important." Queen Maeve snaps. Clarion flinches at her tone. Even the helper talent fairies around them visibly stiffen. It's not the first time she's heard her mother snap at her but it never fails to make her afraid. "Now, what is important, Clarion?" Queen Maeve asks once she calms down.

"Bringing the seasons to the mainland." Clarion says quietly, trying not to anger her mother any further.

"Good. Always remember that." Queen Maeve says and stands up to leave. "Go to bed once you're finished. We have a long day tomorrow."

Clarion finishes her plate under the pitiful, lingering eyes of the helper talent fairies, her cheeks burning. She takes a bath and falls into a deep slumber once she's gotten comfortable in her bed.

Queen Maeve makes Clarion start her law and history lessons immediately after breakfast.

She manages to go through the majority of Pixie Hollow's long history to which Clarion wasn't sure if she could recall at least half of.

"If you ever need a recap, there are books in the library on the subject for you to study. I expect you to know every detail by next week."

The Princess didn't understand why history was so important. Everything had passed already and nothing could turn back time and change anything. However she didn't dare voice her opinions after her mother's wrath the night before.

Lunch was rather uneventful other than the fact that Clarion didn't manage to finish half her plate. "We have important things to do and no time to waste" Queen Maeve had said as she rushed her daughter out of the dining room despite her complaints.

"A Queen walks with grace and a good posture." Queen Maeve starts. "Your posture on the other hand is outrageous. Your back needs to be straight and your wings shouldn't droop. It's unprofessional." The Queen continues as she pulls Clarion's shoulders back.

"You mustn't smile or cry or show too much emotion in front of your subjects." She says.

"Even when a fairy fades away?" Clarion asks softly.

"Even then."

"But don't we want to show some concern? I mean, if a fairy fades it's going to be sad."

Queen Maeve sighs. "Let me ask you a question. Would you rather have a leader that crumbles and cries over the slightest pressure and inconvenience or someone that's calm and knows what to do?"

"I guess one that's calm but-"

"Exactly. Emotions only inconvenience us. They make us lose control and everyone will lose respect for you.

"But i don't want anyone to think that I don't care about them and what if I don't know what to do?."

"You display your care through your actions and even if you're lost, you must appear like you are in control. That is why emotions cannot be tolerated."

"But I-"

"Nothing is going to change that!" Queen Maeve yells. The whole room goes dead silent. Clarion has heard her mother frustrated but never heard her yell before. Perhaps the queen had lost control just then. "I shouldn't have let you spend so much time with your father. You're just like him now."

"I understand. I'm sorry." Clarion apologises meekly, tears burning at the back of her eyes.

"I have some things to attend to in Spring, we'll end our lessons here for today. I hope you understand what I taught you today." Queen Maeve says, voice softer but sharp, leaving no room for arguments.

"I do." Clarion says to the air as her mother flies out the door, her heart heavy. Tears threatened to leak from her eyes but she didn't let them. Emotions revealed hidden truths.

.?*?+.*.?

They dine in silence that night, the Queen not saying a word even when she left. Clarion finishes her food and starts to head back to her room. She was almost there when she sees a familiar figure standing on the balcony.

He turns around as he hears her approach. "Hello, dear, have you eaten?"

"Yes, I have" Clarion joins her father at the balcony. "What are you doing here?"

"Just relaxing. Pixie Hollow is gorgeous during the day but it's almost even more beautiful in the night don't you think?" Dayton says to her. "I just love the fireflies that glow and the quiet the night brings."

"I guess I've never been up late enough to appreciate it." Clarion says although she couldn't help but agree.

"Is there something on your mind? You seem awfully quiet." Dayton turns to her.

"It's just.. Queen training I guess."

"Harder than you thought?" He smiles slightly.

"Something like that." Clarion sighs. It's quiet for a moment as they gaze back upon the kingdom.

"I'm not very good at it." The Princess admits.

"What makes you think that, Ree?"

Ree, the nickname her father used for her. No one else, not even her mother used it. But then again, her mother had never been one for informality. The nickname was special, something only the two of them shared.

"I guess Mom and I don't really see eye to eye on things." Clarion mumbled. "I don't think I'll make a good queen."

"Your mother has a certain way she likes to do things, and her way gets those things done well. She's just trying to teach you all that she knows." Dayton starts.

Clarion doesn't say anything but her mind wanders back to her conversation with the Queen. Had her father made her too emotional?

"Do you know anyone else in Pixie Hollow other than your mother with the same wings as you?" Dayton asks softly.

"No."

"See? You were born with those wings like you were born to be the queen. It's your talent and while it may not seem like it, you'll get used to it once it's your time to reign. I have no doubt you'll do well. Maybe even better that your mother." Dayton winks at her.

Clarion laughs a little. "It's getting late. Give it your best shot all right? I love you, Ree." Dayton smiles at her.

"I love you too, dad." Clarion promises and flies back to her bedroom with a smile on her face.
