Hey guys, it's been a hot while since I've been on this site. Apologies, but due to a long Valentine's Day project that is currently completed, two chapters of a project on the Archive of Our Own site AND other factors, I couldn't exactly focus on the fanfiction site. But now we're back and better than ever! Let's get started with a story that was requested by Apotheosis0 just recently, who was curious to see if I was still doing Dexter x Lee Lee stories. The answer is, yes. So, let's get this short, probably four to five chapter story out of the way, shall we? Anyway, enjoy!

Upstairs in a boy's bedroom, behind the bookcase and deep within the walls of the seemingly small house, a young boy was busy at work, turning a bolt on a recent invention he was making inside his laboratory. Things were mostly silent for the most part... save for the chaos that was going on in the background.

"WHEE!" A loud, shrill, girly voice shouted as an older blonde haired girl in a pink tutu, white stockings with pink stripes and ballet shoes was running around, holding some experimental beakers as she was throwing them around. The young orange haired boy with glasses, wearing a lab coat, black shoes and purple gloves decided to ignore the chaos going on as he was busy turning that bolt.

It was likewise the life of Dexter and Dee Dee. The same old story, as per usual, Dexter is always deep at work, Dee Dee runs in his secret laboratory and touches things she shouldn't, and just goes around being an annoyance until Dexter can't take anymore and tries to shoo her out of the lab. It always seemed to be the normal phase around here. As long as Dee Dee didn't touch the unsafe experimental device that can explode if a button was touched in the center of the lab, things would be-

"Ooooooo, what does THIS button do?"

Dexter stiffined, as he heard the sound of fate being tempted right behind him. He immediately turned around and gave a loud scream. "Dee Dee, no, don't touch that-!"

BOOM!

Too late. As soon as Dexter came close to Dee Dee, the girl, sticking her tongue out, pushed the button as quick as she could, and the invention exploded, covering the room in a white cloud as the deafening sound of the explosion was heard. As soon as the room cleared itself of the white smoke, Dee Dee stood just fine, her finger still pressed on the button as Dexter was now charred and covered in ash, the invention that was standing before him now ruined.

Dexter shut his eyes in anger as he took off his glasses and wiped the dirt off the lenses before putting them back on. He then opened his eyes, narrowing at the rather, innocent looking girl standing in front of him. "Dee Dee, what was I telling you a few days ago about personal boundaries and touching belongings that aren't yours to touch?"

"Hmmmmm..." Dee Dee rolled her eyes backwards, as if pretending to think, before giving a grin. "That I should be respectful to other people's property and that's why I should not be running around in your secret lab?"

"Very good, very good." Dexter said calmly as he gave a nod. "I also said that whenever I'm BUSY in my lab, you try not to disturb me. Now, I've tolerated you running like a mad girl in my lab for as long as I could, but you have officially crossed the line. Now, unless you have a very important question for me... that I would strongly suggest the following..."

The boy genius then growled as he started to push Dee Dee out the door. "GET OUT OF MY LABORATORY! OUT, OUT, OUT! AND DO-"

Before Dexter could finish his sentence though, he heard the phone inside his laboratory ring. Both brother and sister dropped everything as they looked at the phone in curiosity. Dexter looked over at Dee Dee with a frown. "Hold that thought."

With that, Dexter walked over to the phone that was stationed at one of his desks and picked it up. Dexter calmly lifted the phone to his ear as he gave a smile. "You've reached Dexter's Laboratory, this is Dexter speaking. How may I be of service to you?"

Dexter opened one eye in surprise as he heard the person responding to him as he gave a grin. "Oh, it's you! Hey! How's everything going?"

Dee Dee just blinked in confusion, wondering what was going on as Dexter leaned his chair back as he held the phone close to his ear. "No, don't worry. I've almost finished everything I needed to. Oh yeah, we're still on for tonight. I just have to clean myself up and everything. Yeah, don't worry, I'll be there as soon as I can."

Dee Dee casually walked over to her younger brother as she tried to lean her ear in, trying carefully to listen to the conversation. But Dexter, noting Dee Dee trying to lean in, carefully turned his chair over and pushed the phone forward. "Don't worry, I didn't forget where we were supposed to meet. Yeah, I'll meet you over at six. Oh, stop, you shouldn't be... come on, not here. Okay, okay, I'll see you and we'll have fun together. See you tonight."

With that, Dexter hung up the phone as he couldn't help but give a smile. Dee Dee looked rather bewildered as she asked, "Who was it?"

Dexter gave a loud yelp as he jumped out of his seat, before falling back to the ground. Dexter rubbed his head as he looked up in anger. "Dee Dee! You should know better than to sneak up on a person!"

"But I've been standing here this whole time." Dee Dee pointed out.

Dexter opened his mouth to argue, only to shut it as he went into a thinking pose. Dee Dee paused as she raised an eyebrow. "You never go out of the lab unless it's for a convention or Action Hank on TV or for school, or for meals, or when Mom and Dad want to take us on a trip... what I'm trying to say is, you always like spending your time in the lab. You never usually walk out of the lab and agree to some sort of..."

The blonde haired girl's eyes widened in shock, before giving a grin. "What's her name, Dexter?"

"What?" Dexter blushed a bit, before narrowing his eyes. "I do not know what you are insinuating!"

"Come on, Dexter. You always liked working alone in the lab, and I never see you hang out with anybody except for me, Mom, Dad and the few friends that you go to conventions or have your gaming sessions with. Come to think of it, it's pretty sad that you live a reclusive life. So, to hear you say you're willing to hang out with someone on a Friday night in summer is very suspicious! And don't say it IS one of your convention buddies, because I see the blush, mister. Now, spill. Who are you going out with?"

Dexter yelped as he bit his lip, before glaring at Dee Dee. "Dee Dee, as much as I'm glad you're interested in my social life, I think you should keep to your friends, while I keep to mine. Fair deal?"

"Well..." Dee Dee frowned, still having question on her mind.

"Good, I'm glad we're clear. I'm not even going to push you out of the laboratory, because I have a shower to take. So, why don't you walk on over to the teleporter and I'll drop you outside?" Dexter said as he took his sister's hand and led her over to where his teleporter was.

"But I still want to-" Dee Dee protested as the two arrived at the teleporter.

"Too late. So long, stupid sister!" Dexter said as he zipped over to the controls and pushed the lever, putting Dee Dee in a surrounding white light as she disappeared from the lab. Dexter then pushed the lever backwards as he gave a small sigh of relief.

"Computer, shut every entrance to the lab down for the rest of the day and night after I leave. I have a date." Dexter simply ordered as he started to walk off.

"Yes, Dexter." The electronic female voice sounded as Dexter started to hum to himself.

As soon as he was out of the lab and the bookcase moved itself back to its original position, blocking the entrance to the lab, the boy genius gave a small sigh of relief as he opened his desk drawer and pulled out a picture of three girls... his sister, standing in the middle with two girls on both their shoulders, each of them having a smile of their own. The one girl to Dee Dee's left was an African American girl, with Afro puffs on her brown hair and wearing a purple tutu, white stockings and purple shoes. The other girl to Dee Dee's right was an Asian girl with short black hair with straight bangs, wearing a green tutu, white stockings and green ballet shoes. For some reason, the right side of the picture, with Lee Lee, had a heart drawn in red, and a message that said, "A special sweetheart."

Dexter gave a small sigh as he looked at the girl, Lee Lee, in the picture, before giving a sigh as he put it back in the drawer and closed it up. "If Dee Dee knows that I've been seeing her friend, I would never hear the end of it from her... oh well. I guess there's no way around this... got to take my shower and get ready for my..." Dexter bit his lip a bit, before giving a small smile. "...my date tonight."

With that, Dexter left the room in an intention to take a small shower.

And that's the end of the first chapter! How did you guys like it? There will be more to come, so don't miss out! And next time, we'll be going over just HOW Dexter and Lee Lee have fallen for each other, as I'm sure some of you have questions on that. Anyway, read, review, criticize and suggest, everyone!
