Welp, after binging all three seasons of Xiaolin Showdown in a few days, I think this was basically a guarantee.

It's a little on the slow side to start, but I hope you like it!

Chapter 1: The Journey of a Thousand Miles

Mist swirled around slowly, dragging through the air and obscuring the vision of the girl wandering through it. Despite that, she kept walking, though it was somewhat aimless as she struggled to even see her hand in front of her.

"What even is this?" she wondered, waving her hand through the mist to try and dispel it. Instead it just curled around her hand, threatening to swallow it up. She pulled her hand back as if expecting to lose it to the mist, and looked around as footsteps echoed somewhere in front of her. "Hello?" she called out.

"Hello?" her own voice echoed back to her so clearly she wasn't sure if it was an echo. She started walking in the direction it had come from, eventually making out a dark silhouette. Squinting to try and make sense of what she was seeing, the girl kept going, until finally the silhouette took shape.

"What?" she frowned, unable to look away. With long pale brown hair that curled out and down to her ribs, pale skin and the toned muscles of someone well used to an athletic life, it was almost a complete carbon copy of herself.

Her face was twisted in a dark smirk that she was sure she could never achieve normally, a black streak was running through her hair, and her normally blue eyes were a blood red over black sclera. It was almost demonic, and just looking at her made the girl's heart pound hard as cold sweat beaded along her skin.

She took a step back, trying to steady her uneven, loud breathing. "Wh-who are you?" she whispered, barely able to speak. If possible, the demonic smirk grew wider, and she opened her mouth to speak.

"Aurora!" a much clearer voice cut through the mist, and the girl's eyes shot open. Immediately she sat up, breathing heavily. "Honestly, you can sleep like the dead sometimes," Rory looked over at the woman standing in her doorway. She was much taller than Rory; slim and graceful in a way that Rory envied.

"What's going on?" as the haze of sleep faded, the teenage girl lifted the phone lying beside her pillow and checked the time.

5:04.

With a groan, Rory threw herself back into the pillows and buried herself in. "And can't it wait until a time when the sun is up?" she asked, happy to start drifting off again.

"It is bad enough that I have to have this fight with your father every morning," unfortunately, Rory's mother was not in a considerate mood, and the blanket was yanked from her, inciting a loud whine from the girl. "Up. Have you already forgotten what you're doing today?" Jiao tutted at her, exasperated.

"Not sleeping, apparently," Rory grumbled, reluctantly sitting up and rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Her mother tutted again. "Wait," finally something dawned on the girl, who grabbed her phone again. "That's today?" she realised, and immediately leapt from her bed. Jiao pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Let us pray that Fung has the capacity to deal with you," she muttered to herself.

"Damn, this place is sweet," seemed to be the general consensus of the group that Rory was walking with. She looked at the three others she walked with, not speaking as she kept her blue headphones on.

The one who had spoken was a lanky boy with tanned skin and a mop of brown hair. He looked around the temple with big, confident green eyes, while grinning with barely concealed excitement. Walking beside him but not really paying attention to a word he was saying was a pretty Japanese girl, whose hair was dyed a golden blonde, and she was chattering to someone on the other end of her phone.

"What? No way!" she gasped, not seeming to notice the looks sent her way by the Monk who was leading them through the corridors. Rory hid her small smile, liking how carefree the girl seemed to be.

Casting a shadow over the rest of the group was the large Texan. Peeking up at him, Rory wondered how he was able to see out from under the blonde hair that fell into his eyes, shadowed by the brim of his equally large cowboy hat.

As she studied the three others, Rory then looked down at her own casual clothes, glad that she'd insisted on wearing them. She looked at her worn pale yellow oversized hoodie, which sat open over a blue cami and her black shorts, before reaching a hand to her hair. Her fingers tangled into the white streak that ran through it, and she tugged; a nervous habit.

"Please wait here," the Monk requested as they reached one of the rooms, before he disappeared out. Rory walked over to the window, peering out at the grounds. Nearby, she could see the stone walls that surrounded the temple buildings, and the lush green hills and mountains in the distance.

A tap on her shoulder made Rory look around, pulling her headphones down so they sat around her neck instead. She turned to the Brazillian boy who was trying to get her attention, and tilted her head.

"So what's your name?" he asked as they all stood together.

"Uh...Rory," she said slowly, feeling awkward.

"I'm Raimundo," he replied, pressing his thumb into his chest as if to help clarify that he was talking about himself.

"I'm Clay. Pleasure to meet y'all," the much taller boy tipped his hat in a greeting. They looked at the Japanese girl, who was still talking away. She paused, looking up at them.

"Kimiko. No way!" she gasped, going back to her call just as quickly. Raimundo shrugged, and Rory bit her lip to try to stop her laugh.

"There's supposed to be another fella, ain't there?" Clay asked, glancing around the room.

"Think he's already been training here before we got here. I think," Rory said, hands behind her back as she resisted the urge to fidget. This was the most she'd spoken with others her age in a long time, and it made her nervous. "Probably why we're waiting here," she suggested quietly as she looked around the room.

"This here is mighty different to what I'm used to," Clay admitted as he looked around as well.

"Same here," Raimundo agreed, leaning against the wall. "Not bad though," he allowed. He straightened up quickly when they heard footsteps coming their way, and they turned as an older man with a goatee and bright blue eyes walked in, followed by a short boy with a large bald head.

"Omi," the man they had already met, Master Fung, addressed the young boy as he stared at them with wide eyes. "I would like you to meet: Raimundo," he introduced the Brazillian boy first.

"Sup," Raimundo greeted.

"Kimiko."

"He said that?" Kimiko gasped, before glancing over. "Hey," she waved briefly. "No way!" she went back to her call.

"Aurora," Master Fung moved on.

"How'ya?" Rory waved.

"And Clay," the boy - Omi - had to crane his neck to look up at the cowboy.

"Howdy," Clay tipped his hat in a polite greeting. The boy blinked up at the four, before turning back to the Master.

"Master, where are the new students?" Omi asked, confused about why he was being introduced to the four.

"Right in front of you, Omi," Master Fung gestured. Omi turned back to the four, still looking confused as he took them in. They wore normal clothes, unlike him and his usual training gear, and didn't look anything like he'd expected.

"They...are not what I expected," Omi admitted. Rory wasn't sure if she was meant to feel insulted by his comment.

"The best things in life rarely are," Master Fung reminded him. Omi nodded slowly, accepting the sage advice.

"You are right, Master," he agreed, and smiled as he approached the group. "Welcome, my new and strangely attired friends!" he greeted them with a smile.

"I must be going, young ones," Master Fung announced, turning to walk away. "I can see there is much teaching to be done here," he considered aloud as he left the five alone.

"Yes Master," Omi agreed as he looked from his teacher, to the four new students. "Much teaching indeed," he nodded. Rory tilted her head, wondering just what Omi was thinking, and exchanged looks with the others.

"The key is balance!" Omi explained as he moved by walking on two fingers, leading the group on a tour of the temple. "If you are a beginner, you may want to start with three fingers," he told them.

"Uh, just curious...when will we need this?" Clay asked the question on everyone's minds.

"Try never," Raimundo answered for him, unimpressed. Rory had to agree as she watched him show off.

"Maybe it's good for balance?" she offered quietly.

"Don't encourage him," Raimundo rolled his eyes at her, drawing a faint smile from the girl.

"Okay Keiko, I'll text it to you," behind them, Kimiko finally ended her call with her friend. "Is there WiFi around here? No? No worries, I'll use my data," she swapped to a tablet that she pulled from her bag.

"Oh, what is that?" Omi was suddenly beside her, peering at the screen. "Is it...magic?" he guessed.

"Magic?" Rory repeated as Raimundo snorted.

"It's a PDA. I'm sending a message to a friend in Tokyo," Kimiko explained, entertained by his curiosity.

"A secret message?" Omi gasped, not moving away.

"Nah, I'm just telling her I've met a very strange friend who apparently doesn't know about personal space issues," Kimiko stressed, watching him. Omi blinked up at her.

"Really?" he gasped. Rory shook her head as her comment went over his head. "Who? Is it that guy?" Omi went behind Kimiko and pointed at Clay.

"Not me partner," Clay shook his head, fighting his own laughter.

"It's you, Chrome-Dome," Raimundo clarified. Omi went bright red, giving a weak smile.

"Now what?" Raimundo asked as Omi moved on from demonstrating walking on his fingers.

"Soon you will all learn how to fight almost as well as me!" he began showing off some punches and kicks. Rory shook her head, lifting her phone to start playing her music again. Omi seemed harmless enough, except for his ego. She had to admit, it was an odd thing for a Monk to be lacking in...modesty.

"Almost as well," Raimundo repeated.

"Little fella is pretty quick," Clay murmured.

"But you must pay attention, for an attack could come from anywhere!" Omi declared, suddenly rushing Rory. She glanced up, and right before Omi could tap her, the girl moved out of the way, making a graceful twirl around the boy. He gasped, and crashed against Clay, bouncing off the cowboy.

"Sometimes the best attack is just to dodge," Rory smiled innocently as Omi sat up and gaped at her. With that, she hit play on a song and slipped her headphones back on.

"Nice moves," Raimundo laughed at Omi, who found himself blushing for a second time.

"Lesson 3!" the young Monk quickly recovered, starting to dash around. "The fierce Cheetah Method of fighting! I defy you to catch me!" he challenged, rushing around and striking at the air.

"He is pretty quick," Rory had to agree with Clay's earlier comment.

"Witness the speed of a cheetah!" Omi kept going as Raimundo shook his head. Bored, Kimiko was back on the phone with her friend. "I am dazzling and confounding you! And now, I strike - hey!" Omi shouted as a rope caught him around the ankle, tripping him up.

"Hope I haven't mucked up your lesson too much, little fella," Clay said as he pulled his lasso back, dragging Omi through the grass. A giggle slipped from Rory's lips before she could stop herself, watching as Omi glowered. "Just can't resist a challenge," Clay told him.

"Yeah, uhuh. The cowboy just lassoed the little guy," Kimiko was giving a play-by-play to her friend.

"I am the teacher! You are the students!" Omi shouted, standing as Clay freed him. "You will give me the respect I deserve," he snapped at them.

"Deserve, huh?" Rory murmured, once again unimpressed with his words.

"Respect this!" Raimundo smirked, and before Omi realised, his trousers had been yanked down to his ankles, revealing his underwear. He groaned, blushing once more as Kimiko burst out laughing.

"No way! The Brazilian kid just pantsed the bald kid!" she announced.

"I don't think he's realised it yet," Clay commented to Rory, leaning against the rock she had perched on. She pulled her headphones down, and offered a small smile back.

"I don't think so either. Don't blame him though," she considered, watching as Omi quickly fixed his trousers and glared at Raimundo, who was still laughing.

"Nope, can't say I blame him much either," Clay agreed. "But I still don't see the point in that finger walking business," he added. Rory nodded.

"I think that's last on my list of things to learn here," she agreed. A cold shiver suddenly ran down her spine, and she jolted from it. "Whoa, did you feel that?" Rory asked as she looked around.

"Feel what?" Clay asked, drawing his attention away from where Omi was shouting at Raimundo. Rory frowned, wondering what the sensation was.

"Nothing, I guess," she murmured, brushing her hair from her face. She fell quiet, wondering if it really was nothing.

Rory's unease didn't fade as Master Fung summoned them to discuss urgent matters. He looked grim as he sat opposite them.

"Wuya has been freed," he announced, voice grave.

"Who?" Raimundo asked, confused. Omi shot him an annoyed look for speaking up, and shuffled closer to their teacher.

"1500 years ago, a furious battle was waged between the great and noble Xiaolin Dragon, Dashi, and the evil Heylin witch, Wuya. She was defeated by Dashi and his mystical objects, the Shen Gong Wu. In the end, Dashi imprisoned Wuya for eternity," Master Fung explained patiently, not bothered by the interruption. "But now she has been freed, and she will be searching for the Shen Gong Wu," he warned the five.

"What happens if she gets them?" Rory asked, legs pulled in close as she wrapped her arms around them.

"The world will be thrown into ten thousand years of darkness," Master Fung explained. Rory sighed.

"Of course it will," she muttered.

"It is your most solemn duty as Xiaolin Warriors, to find all the Shen Gong Wu before Wuya does," Master Fung told the group. Raimundo raised his hand, and the man's sharp blue eyes darted to him.

"I have a question," he announced.

"Yes, Raimundo?" Master Fung asked.

"I saw my room, and no bed. Just a mat! What's the deal?" Raimundo asked. When he was answered with silence and five blank stares, he swallowed, looking a little sheepish. "Um...we can talk later," he decided.

"So...these Shen Gong Wu…" Rory spoke up. "What exactly are they? And where are they?" she asked.

"Follow me, young ones," Master Fung got up, indicating for them to follow.

"Beds? Seriously?" Kimiko shot at Raimundo quietly as they walked behind their teacher. He shrugged in response.

"Dojo," Master Fung called suddenly.

"I'm here!" a voice shouted in response. Rory looked around, wondering who he'd called, before a blur of green rushed towards them. "I swear, I didn't touch it," the small green lizard insisted as he perched on Clay's hat. "Hey," he greeted with a small wave.

"Cute!" Kimiko smiled.

"Aw, you're making me blush," Dojo waved her off, grinning widely.

"Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere," Master Fung told them as he led the group into a small room. The only contents of the room were a table, and a large golden scroll.

"The ancient scroll of the Shen Gong Wu," Omi recognised the scroll as Master Fung opened it. In the centre was a large blue circle, with a dragon inside, and writing began to appear.

"Ah, the Mantis Flip Coin, it has revealed itself," Master Fung realised as the blue circle revealed a small coin, before changing to a man backflipping. "Whoever holds the Coin, will leap with the skill of a mantis," he explained.

"Wild!" Kimiko exclaimed as Rory whistled. Now that sounded fun.

"And so, our grand quest begins!" they turned to Omi as he pointed up. "Follow me, to victory!" he declared, running off. Nobody followed, and after a moment of quiet, his voice echoed back in. "I have no idea where I'm going," he admitted.

"How are we supposed to find this Coin?" Rory asked.

"Dojo, you helped Master Dashi hide them," Master Fung turned to the green lizard, who jumped down from his perch and shrugged.

"Yeah, but that was a long time ago!" Dojo laughed, shaking his head. "You can't possibly expect me to - whoa!" he gasped as his tail began to shake violently. "This way!" he pointed.

"Right. Like we're going to take directions from a gecko!" Raimundo scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"Gecko?!" Dojo repeated angrily. To Raimundo's surprise, Dojo suddenly began to change in size until he towered over them, and snorted out a few flames. "Don't ever call me a gecko!" he snarled at the boy, who gulped.

"My mistake," he conceded with a nervous laugh.

Peering down through the clouds, Rory found herself very glad that she wasn't scared of heights. Or flying, for that matter. She smiled to herself as she ran her hand gently along the green scales that lined Dojo's back, and watched as he flew them towards the Mantis Flip Coin.

A giddy feeling ran through the girl, and she brushed the wisps of her hair from her face as the wind knocked it about. A dragon. She was flying on a dragon. The thoughts of Wuya being free were far from her mind as she just enjoyed the ride.

"I can't believe I went from Temple Guardian to babysitter in less than a day," Dojo on the other hand, wasn't impressed with his new role, grumbling to himself.

"Hey Rory," she turned as Clay addressed her, sitting at the back. "That move you used earlier on the little guy was real nice. How'd you do that?" he asked. At the front, Kimiko was showing Omi the game that she had been playing, and he stared with fascination.

"Uh…" Rory suddenly found herself a little self-conscious. "I can show you later, if you want?" she offered.

"Sounds good to me," Clay nodded, only for Omi's wail to echo through the air.

"My little friend has been taken by the dark forces of evil!" he screeched in horror. Raimundo giggled to himself. "Pochi, are you in there? Can you hear the sound of my voice?" Omi pleaded with the gamepad, and Raimundo cried out as Kimiko punched his arm hard.

"Don't mess with the Monk!" she warned him.

"Girl, you hit hard," Raimundo complained as Kimiko went back to Omi. He looked at Clay and Rory for backup, and the two shrugged, not taking his side.

"No worries Omi, the power just got switched off. See?" Kimiko flipped the switch, and the screen lit up again, to Omi's relief.

"Pochi! You have returned!" he exclaimed, delighted. "I must remember to honour the power of the Off Switch," Omi declared to Kimiko, who couldn't help but smile at his innocence.

Soon Dojo began to descend, landing in an alleyway and returning to his smaller size. They followed him out on the street, and he gasped as he watched traffic go by.

"Whoa, a lot has changed in the last 1500 years!" Dojo exclaimed, darting back as people walked by, almost stepping on him.

"So many people, so many buildings! What is this place?" Omi asked as a tram went by, ringing a bell.

"San Francisco," Raimundo answered, which didn't help Omi's confusion at all.

"Reminds me of Dublin," Rory considered, hand on her hip.

"We've got a Mantis Flip Coin to find," Kimiko reminded them as they all looked around the massive streets.

"Where to?" Rory asked as she lifted Dojo onto her shoulder. He sniffed the air.

"It's close. Real close," Dojo frowned. Rory shivered again, feeling a strange sensation in her stomach, and looked around.

"It doesn't make people do that weird shaking thing, does it?" she asked, and he shot her a confused look.

"Bow before me, citizens of planet Earth!" a voice echoed behind them, and they looked around quickly. Standing on the roof of a building that overlooked the alleyway was a lanky boy who looked their age, with bright red hair and a long black coat. "I now woo you, with the Mantis Flip Coin!" the gold and red coin in his hand began to glow, and he flipped through the air, landing easily.

"You cannot rule the Earth yet!" a purple spirit with a black, white and red mask floated around him and shouted in a grating voice, and he scowled at her. "You have but one Shen Gong Wu!" she exclaimed.

"How many are there?" he asked, confused.

"Hundreds!" she shouted, and his eyes widened.

"What?! Okay, you're gonna have to get solid and help me out here," he complained, waving his hand through her.

"Hello friend," they were interrupted by Omi as he approached.

"Omi, I don't think this is wise," Rory followed Omi over to try and stop him, as the boy only seemed to notice their presence now. Omi ignored her, looking serious.

"That Coin is of great mystical importance. May we please have it?" he asked. The boy laughed in disbelief.

"No way Shorty. This Shen Gong Wu is mine," he declared. Rory frowned at his words, surprised at his knowledge.

"How does he know about Shen Gong Wu?" Raimundo wondered to Kimiko.

"How indeed?" the spirit floated over his shoulder, seeming to spark with power. The feeling Rory had sensed before only grew stronger, making another shiver run down her spine.

"Wuya!" Dojo exclaimed, jumping down from Rory's shoulder. "Wow, the years have not been kind to you!" he laughed, but it turned into a shriek when she rushed at him.

"Mind your tongue, reptile! Dashi isn't here to protect you!" she screeched, and Dojo leapt away, burrowing into Omi's robes.

"Away, evil spirit! You cannot stop us!" he declared.

"She can't. I can," their opponent pressed a button on his watch. "Jackbots, attack!" he ordered. Several bronze robots flew down, floating between them.

"Robots...really?" Rory asked.

"Mince them," blades emerged from the robots, spinning dangerously. For a moment, nobody moved, before a small wind picked up.

"Water!" Omi leapt at a robot and with a powerful kick, smashed it to pieces. The others then joined in, fighting off the robots as Rory watched the two that started to spin around her. She tilted her head, and when one ran at her, she reacted, grabbing one and moving with it so that she could slam it into another. It cut through the metal easily, causing the other to explode, and she slammed the one she was still holding against the wall.

"You never mentioned freaks in pyjamas would be looking for the Shen Gong Wu too," they looked around as the robots were left in pieces.

"Details!" Wuya dismissed it. "You've got the Flip Coin, go!" she ordered. As Omi took a step towards them, small helicopter blades suddenly shot from the backpack the boy wore. He smirked, and took off into the sky.

"The Mantis Flip Coin!" Omi gave chase, leaping from the heads of each of the robots. Kimiko gave a shout as she threw one of the remaining robots, before gasping as it flew straight at Raimundo. He shrieked, ducking out of the way. Clay, however, was unfortunate enough to be in the same path, and the robot slammed into him. He was knocked flying as Rory caught the robot on its ricochet and kicked through its chest, destroying it, and they looked over to see Clay crash into Omi, knocking them both to the ground.

"A lesson for losers; don't mess with Jack Spicer!" he declared, disappearing over the buildings.

"Well, that was embarrassing," Rory considered as Clay climbed off Omi.

"Because of you four, we have lost the first Shen Gong Wu!" Omi complained loudly. Rory frowned, but bit her tongue, preferring to keep quiet and not pick a fight.

"Dude...it was a coin," Raimundo rolled his eyes, not quite as reluctant.

"A magical coin! Do you not understand? The more Shen Gong Wu that Wuya possesses, the stronger she is!" Omi shouted at them, frustrated.

"Sorry Omi," Kimiko tried to soothe him.

"We'll do better next time," Clay insisted.

"Next time is now!" Dojo slithered out from his hiding place, twitching. "I'm sensing another Shen Gong Wu!" he warned.

"Good timing after that disaster," Rory commented.

"Let's see what we got," Kimiko pulled the scroll from her bag, having brought it just in case. "The Two Ton Tunic," she repeated, showing the others the image that appeared.

"Oh, I remember that! It was Dashi's invulnerable armour," Dojo explained.

"Excellent! Spicer better watch his back, because this round is ours!" Kimiko cheered.

"The Two Ton Tunic is mine!" Jack's voice echoed towards them when they arrived in Venice.

"Not so fast!" Raimundo shouted, and Jack looked around just in time for Clay to ram into him. Raimundo caught the Tunic, and Jack landed in a gondola, which floated off down the canal.

"Nice one," Rory laughed as Raimundo handed over the Tunic to Omi. "But it doesn't exactly look...invulnerable," she commented.

"Jack Spicer! Today, victory is mine!" Omi declared. Clay looked around as he heard a noise, and his brow rose.

"Better not count before they hatch," he warned, watching the flock of robots rushing towards them.

"A fearsome force!" Omi allowed, pulling the tunic on over his robes. "But they are not prepared for the awesome might of...the Two Ton Tunic!" the Tunic started to glow, changing into metal armor that was far too big for the small boy. It then dropped, smashing through the wooden pier they were on. The pier began to shake, knocking them all off balance.

"Two Tons...is it really that heavy?" Rory wondered nervously, before the pier collapsed. They all cried out, hitting the cold, filthy water.

"I'll take that as a yes," Clay answered for her as they emerged from the water. Above, the robots had flown off, deeming them not a threat. Rory spat out the water in her mouth. Hunting mystical items was not as glamorous as it seemed.

The group of treasure hunters dried off as Dojo flew them away from Venice, and onto their next destination. Rory was grateful that she'd left her headphones back at the temple, and was still squeezing the filthy water from her hair. She lamented not being able to shower, but on their way back from Venice, Dojo had sensed another Shen Gong Wu revealing itself.

"Look, it's not the way Grand Master Dashi would have done it, but hey! You're still learning," Dojo tried to encourage the quiet group.

"I do not wish to speak of the failures of me or my students. I only wish to find the next Shen Gong Wu," Omi said firmly.

"Which is…?" Raimundo asked as they turned to Kimiko. She lifted the Scroll from her backpack again, and opened it up.

"The Eye of Dashi," she answered as they watched the demonstration on the scroll.

"Way I figure it, it shoots lightning something fierce," Clay summed up the explanation for them.

"Just what we need when we're soaking wet," Rory considered with a small smile.

"Don't worry, you'll be dried off in no time!" Dojo called, increasing his pace. They shivered a little at the winds that battered their wet clothes, but kept positive. They'd retrieved one Shen Gong Wu already, and they were determined to claim the next.

Landing in the lush green hills of Switzerland, the team were grateful that they'd finally dried off as they started looking for the Eye of Dashi.

"Now this is my kinda place," Clay grinned as they looked around.

"Are you kidding?" Kimiko exclaimed, trying to get her phone to work. "I'm not even getting a signal here!" she complained.

"At least it's still working after our swim earlier," Rory tried to look on the positive side, but Kimiko just kept grumbling.

"If I were a lightning shooting Shen Gong Wu, where would I be?" Raimundo led the way, holding Dojo like a dowsing rod. His ears twitched with each movement, trying to narrow it down.

"Close. You'd be close," Dojo replied.

"The Eye of Dashi!" Omi was the one to spot the artifact hanging from a tree branch nearby. Without waiting for the others, he rushed over and scaled the tree easily. However, as he grabbed it, another hand caught the string as well.

"Sorry Monk-Boy, this one's mine!" Jack announced as the two started a tug of war over the Eye of Dashi, trying to pull it from the others grasp. It began to glow as they fought over it, casting a golden light over the area.

"I was here first!" Omi shouted.

"Too bad!" Jack sneered, and the two finally seemed to notice the light. "Hey, what's with the glowing?" he asked, squinting from the light.

"It is a Xiaolin Showdown!" Omi realised.

"A what now?" Raimundo asked, confused as they watched from the sidelines.

"A Xiaolin Showdown! It's what happens when two warriors reach a stalemate over a Shen Gong Wu. Two words. Frea-ky," Dojo explained, excited. Omi and Jack continued to fight over the Eye of Dashi as it shone brightly.

"Jack Spicer, I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown!" Omi declared. "I wager my Two Ton Tunic against your Mantis Flip Coin. Whoever reaches the last stone first wins the Eye of Dashi. And the other Shen Gong Wu as well," the Monk challenged.

"So it's basically a game with high-stake betting," Rory considered.

"More or less," Dojo nodded.

"Accept the challenge!" Wuya snapped as she floated down. "Accept it!" she shrieked at him.

"I accept your challenge," Jack ignored her, glaring at Omi.

"Let's go, Xiaolin Showdown!" Omi's words caused the glow from the Eye of Dashi to burst out, blinding everyone around. When the light faded, Omi and Jack found themselves standing on a stone step each, before they shook and began to rise as pillars above the clouds, causing Jack to shriek in terror. Nearby, the other four stood to the side as spectators.

"I did not expect this," Omi admitted, peering down and gulping. He now wore the deactivated Two Ton Tunic, which covered him almost like a dress.

"That's a Xiaolin Showdown for ya. Always keeps you guessing," Dojo shrugged as he emerged from under it. "Gong Yi Tanpai!" he suddenly shouted, earning several confused looks. "That means go," he explained.

"How am I supposed to do this?" Jack asked, peering over the edge as well and gulping.

"Use your Shen Gong Wu!" Wuya reminded him.

"Oh yeah…" Jack fished the coin from his pocket. "Mantis Flip Coin!" with that, he leapt easily between the pillars.

"Oh, that's a hell of an advantage," Rory considered as they watched.

"Yeah...pretty unfair," Raimundo agreed, arms folded.

"Two Ton Tunic!" they looked back at Omi as he activated his own, only to fall over.

"That isn't so good," Kimiko considered. Omi leapt to the next pillar, barely making it while weighed down.

"You know what I just realised?" Raimundo spoke up. "Master Fung never answered my question about the bed," he said, earning three glares.

"Come on Omi!" Kimiko cheered on the Monk as he managed to leap to another pillar. Every time he jumped, Rory winced, half expecting him to fall.

"You've got this!" Rory shouted over as Omi almost overbalanced. When they saw movement heading towards Omi, they looked up to see robots flying at him. "Watch out, Omi!" Rory managed to warn as Omi complained to himself. He ducked just in time, and they flew over his head. He looked over, and Clay tipped his hat with a knowing smile.

"It's not your weight…" Omi remembered Clay's words from earlier. When one of the robots flew back at him, he leapt up and slammed into it, shattering the robot on impact. "It's how you throw it around!" he laughed.

"That's showing them!" Clay cheered. When more robots flew at Omi from either side, he paused for a moment, before leaping to safety. The two robots crashed into each other.

"And sometimes the best attack is just to dodge!" Omi declared.

"That's it, nice one!" Rory cheered, jumping up and down.

"So you can raise your voice," Raimundo teased. Rory blushed, quietening down immediately. She jumped when he yelped, as Kimiko punched his arm. She shot him a warning look, and he cleared his throat. "Yeah, come on Omi!" he wisely turned his attention back to the Showdown, and Kimiko nudged Rory lightly. She gave a small, thankful smile back before looking back at Omi.

The last of the robots flew over Omi, who slipped out of the Tunic and clung to the robot's back.

"Honour the power of the Off Switch!" he flipped the switch on the back of the robot's neck, and its lights faded as it powered down. Omi leapt down, back into the Two Ton Tunic as the robot dropped like a stone.

"Yeah! Don't mess with the Monk!" Kimiko cheered loudly.

"What kinda evil robots have an off switch?" Rory couldn't help but giggle.

"Hey, the little guy is catching up," Clay noticed as Omi started to catch up to Jack. Noticing as well, the much taller boy stopped and watched as Omi leapt onto his stone, falling over. He laughed at the fallen Monk.

"Now that I've defeated you, perhaps you'll respect the genius of Jack Spicer!" he taunted. Omi smirked.

"Respect this!" mirroring what Raimundo had done to him earlier, he dropped Jack's trousers. Jack shrieked, distracted enough for Omi to move on as the others burst out laughing. Pausing only to grin at them, Omi kept going, and Wuya shrieked in anger as Omi landed on the final stone and grabbed the Eye of Dashi.

There was another flash of light as Omi's fingers curled around the Eye of Dashi, and when it faded, everything was back to normal.

"Omi, that was sweet!" Kimiko declared as they ran over to him. The Two Ton Tunic had reverted to its cloth form, and he held both the Eye of Dashi and the Mantis Flip Coin.

"It really was," Rory agreed.

"You've done a good day's roundup, partner," Clay voiced his own approval.

"I really like that robe. What's it called again?" Raimundo smirked.

"The Two Ton Tunic!" Omi declared. The robe glowed, transforming, and the sudden weight pulled Omi down to the ground.

"I gotcha," Raimundo nodded as he helped Omi back to his feet. They couldn't help but laugh, excited at their victory.

"You fool!" hearing Wuya's angry shriek, Rory turned around and watched as Jack flew off, with Wuya berating him. Her laughter faded as the strange feeling in her stomach finally started to settle. She had a feeling they hadn't seen the last of either of the two.

Tugging at her sleeve, Rory admired her new clothes that she'd changed into. Now wearing red robes, the four new students matched Omi with their uniforms. He nodded at them in approval as they gathered together in the main hall with Master Fung, and they grinned back.

"You have all done exceptionally well," Master Fung praised them as he looked at the three Shen Gong Wu that they had returned with. "Would you agree, Dojo?" he asked, turning to the Dragon. Dojo was back in his hammock, which hung from a bonsai tree.

"Not bad, for amateurs," Dojo said casually.

"The Journey of a Thousand Miles begins with a single step," Master Fung told him. Dojo rolled his eyes.

"Where do you get this stuff?" he chuckled.

"I have a desk calendar," Master Fung told him. Rory bit back her smile at the comment.

"Master Fung. There are so many Shen Gong Wu left to be found," Omi shook his head, solemn despite the praise.

"Your new friends will help," Master Fung assured him, patting his head. The four nodded as Omi looked up at them.

"Oh, yes Master! I have already taught much to Kimiko, Raimundo, Rory and Clay," he announced. Master Fung looked surprised by his words.

"But Omi, they are here to teach you," he explained. Omi's eyes went wide.

"But...I am the Chosen One!" he whimpered. Rory glanced at Clay, offering a smile. They'd been right. He hadn't figured it out.

"You aren't the only Chosen One, Omi! Someday, your new friends may become Dragons as well," Master Fung smiled, amused by Omi's reaction. "Kimiko, the Dragon of Fire. Clay, the Dragon of Earth. Raimundo, the Dragon of the Wind, and Aurora, the Dragon of Light," he introduced them properly. Omi's mouth fell open as he looked at the four again.

"Is...is this true, Master?" he managed to find his words.

"Yes, but I didn't want to tell you until you were ready," Master Fung admitted. Omi whimpered, and fell backwards with a heavy thud. They peered down at the boy, who mumbled under his breath.

"I don't think he was ready," Clay considered.
