Chapter 1

The 100 a discovery of time travellers

Clarke and Bellamy have never actually met but they have known each other for a long time online, connecting because of their shared interest in a little known book and the mysteries surrounding it. However when a first addition of the book services they along with their other friends decide to meet in the hope that together they can get the book and solve the mystery but there not the only one's after the book that supposedly holds the secret to time travel.

Now this fic is going to take cues from a lot of different places besides the 100 like utopia or 12 monkeys as well as others but it is still primarily going to be a the 100 fic so you will only be seeing those characters. I had an idea around certain concepts and femes as well as some real world mysteries that I could combine into a the 100 fic so that's what I did and I hope you guys like what I've come up with.

also just to be clear this is a bellarke fic so that will happen and as always please leave your thoughts I'd really like to know what people think.

"The fall is coming

The fall as come

Has humanity fallen?"

The book of travellers (first edition) (p. 1)

With a slight screeching scratching sound the car came to a stop outside the house and a moment later two figures got out. 'Well here we are,' the male figure said to the female figure admiring the house as he spoke 'I still can't believe your grandfather left you a house in the will.'

'Well I was his only grandchild Simon,' the female figure giggled moving forward as she spoke walking around the overgrown grass at the front of the house and to the path that led to the front door.

'Still Rebecca,' Simon laughed following her down the garden path 'all my grandfather left me was a watch, that didn't work by the way.'

Reaching the front door they both stopped, Simon looked behind them at the rather non-descript street the house was on wondering absentmindedly what the neighbours were like but Rebecca kept looking forward. It had been years since she had seen her grandfather they had never been that close but then a month ago she had been contacted by a lawyer to tell her about him dying and the will which was now sorted so here her and Simon were. A lot had happened in a very short space of time so it was sort of hard to except this was all actually happening.

'You ready,' Simon asked drawing Rebecca's attention.

'Yeah,' she nodded turning to face him and then back to face door getting the key out of her pocket as she spoke. 'Now,' Rebecca continued unlocking the door and opening it 'the lawyer said things were kind of a mess so,' she was cut off however when the door slammed against several large boxes. Peering in now both Rebecca and Simon saw that "mess" had been and understatement because the house was in fact full to the sealing with boxes a various sizes which were all overflowing with various items.

'You know,' Simon said a day later as he and Rebecca continued to empty boxes into trash bags having actually only now begun work on the bedroom 'we might want to be careful here.'

'How do you mean,' Rebecca asked pulling several badly torn up books off a rickety book case and throwing them in a trash bag.

'Well,' Simon sighed standing up from where he had been crouching next to a large box shrugging as he did so 'some of this stuff could be valuable for all we know, I mean you've heard the stories the same as I have about people finding things.'

'Yeah of course,' Rebecca smiled rolling her eyes as she spoke 'I know about those stories but do you really think anything like that would happen to us, were not that lucky.' As she said this Rebecca pulled several more torn up books off the book case and this change in wait caused the badly weakened book case to shake slightly which in turn caused a large fin leather bound book to fall off the top and land on the floor right between them.

There was a moment of shocked silence between the two of them as they stared down at the book but then Simon started laughing 'come on,' he chuckled 'if that isn't a sign what else would be.'

'Fine,' Rebeca sighed 'you go look it up see if that things worth anything,' with that she turned her attention back to the book case; she doubted it would be worth anything but she could at least let Simon try.

Smiling Simon picked up the book and sitting down on the bed he opened it, the first page was blank apart from a bunch of different names that had been written on it so he paid that page no mind and moved on. The second did have text on it but it was only three short lines right in the middle that looked to be written in Arabic so again Simon moved on to the next page which had more text on it unfortunately everything was in Arabic again, however someone had written a name on it in the margins in English. Curious if that was something Simon pulled out his phone and typed the words book of travellers in to google, a minute after reading what came up he looked up smiling 'Rebeca you're not going to believe this.'

Clarke Griffin

As Clarke sat in the lecture hall listening to a rather long-winded description of the digestive system from easily her most boring college professor she saw her phone which she had put next to her note book on the small fold out desk in front of her light up. Thankful for the small escape she discreetly moved it towards her and read the group chat notification that had popped up there and she immediately felt her heart begin to beat really fast.

The notification was from Bellamy and he was telling her and the group that someone had found a first addition and they were looking to sell it, moving her phone under her desk she started typing trying her best to conceal what she was doing from her professor.

Clarke : you can't be serious Bell, how do you know this is real?

Bellamy : trust me I know princess this is real

Clarke had to stifle an excited giggle here to prevent anyone realising what she was doing Bellamy's use of that nickname always made her smile but this was really something else. There little group had been chatting online for years now around their ideas about the book of travellers, about all the theories that were out there about it and what it had awakened within the majority of them but if Bellamy had a lead on a first addition they could be the ones to get some real answers. Before Clarke could type anything else though there were a few more flashes of light on her phone signalling that some more members of the group were joining the group chat that Bellamy had sparked off.

Raven : how did these people get hold of the book?

Murphy : yeah we all been looking for years and it us doing it so how these peeps do it?

Bellamy : they say in the listing the book belonged to the girls grandfather and when he died she ended up with it. They don't say anything about how he got it.

Clarke rolled her eyes at this exchange as she read these responses and those of others who added on, what did they really expect these people who were looking to sell the book to say. These people probably had no idea what the book had the potential to do they were most likely just so called ordinary people who were looking to sell the book and make some money. Sighing slightly here Clarke gave her tutor a quick glance to make sure he was still going on with his lecture and hadn't noticed what she was doing then started typing.

Clarke : it doesn't really matter how they got it right now, what matters is these people have it and the 100 need to get it.

Calling there little online group the 100 hadn't been Clarke's idea but at the time they had decided they should give there group a proper name there had been exactly 100 members so that had ended up being the name that had been decided upon. She had wanted them to be called something that reflected what had brought them all together more but it was the name that had been chosen once people had voted so it was there name and in spite of her issues with it she still used it.

Monty : she's got a point guys don't we want to get the book and then figure stuff like that out jaspers here with me by the way and he agrees

Bellamy : yeah, guys let's just decide how were going to get the book first and then talk about the other stuff. These people are going to be holding an auction at this small convention that's going on in a few weeks and I think as many of us as possible need to be there so we can all bid on the book and increase the chances of at least one of us getting it for the group.

Murphy : great idea mate sounds like a plan

There was a general chorus of agreement to this idea from the people in on the chat but Clarke didn't type anything she just stared down at her phone then up at her professor who was still going with the lecture and back again. She felt like she knew everyone in the 100 rather well but she had only ever met one or two of them in the real and she had never met people like Raven, Murphy or more importantly Bellamy face to face before so she was a little apprehensive at the idea of finally meeting people. It was a good idea, it probably was the best way to get the book and it would most likely be a lot of fun finally meeting Bellamy and some of the others but Clarke had a bad history when it came to making friends so the idea had her a little paranoid.

Bellamy : what do you think princess? Do you think this is what we should do?

Seeing those words made Clarke gulp she kind of wanted to leave the group chat right there but she knew she couldn't, if she was going to find out the secrets of the book of travellers and hopefully learn how to save the world from what she knew was coming she was going to need to go. So with this in mind taking in a deep breath while also whispering to herself it would all be fine Clarke started typing out her response to Bellamy.

Clarke : I think it sounds like a great idea Bellamy, I was just thinking we should first figure out how many of us can make it first so we can effectively coordinate.

Bellamy : great, good point Clarke we should do that

Monty : yeah I can tell you right now me and Jasper can be there whenever it is

Giving a small sigh of relief here Clarke watched plans start to be made within the group, she didn't like lying but talking about practical stuff like this was much easier for her so she preferred this change of direction. Things progressed in a rather bland way after that so Clarke more or less turned off only adding things when it was necessary instead spending more time wondering about the pictures she had seen of people online.

Monty and Jasper lived a short train ride from where she was so Clarke had met them once or twice before and they had looked exactly like the one or two pictures she had found of them online, both of them being a rather stereotypical pair of conspiracy nuts. Then there was everyone else in the group, some people didn't share pictures so there was no telling what they looked like in the real but she wasn't really that curious about those people she was more curious about people like Raven or Murphy and of course Bellamy. Clarke had always been very selective about what pictures she posted of herself online making sure they showed off her best features like her blond hair or pale white skin and didn't make her look too big. You couldn't really say she was a big girl Clarke knew that but she did also understand she couldn't exactly be called small either so she was selective about the pictures she posted of herself online and as a result of this she did wonder if other people did the same.

Like with Raven she didn't post many pictures of herself but the ones she did post showed her to be a tall, dark skinned, dark haired, rather good looking girl so Clarke did wonder if there was something she was down playing. It wasn't that she would have a problem if there was, Clarke liked Raven as a person so that was all that mattered, she didn't care if she was a good looking girl or if Murphy was the scrawny white boy he showed himself to be they were her friends and that was that, she was just curious. Clarke did hope Bellamy was the tall dark and handsome guy he showed himself to be online though, they had both been part of the group since the beginning and after all they had shared with each other she freely admitted to having a bit of a crush on him so of course she was hoping he really was handsome.

Thinking about this Clarke turned her attention back to the plans that were being made within the group, it was a given she would be going to try and help the group get the book. After all she believed it held the secret to saving the world and to answering the questions she and all the others had around what they had seen, so of course she would be going. However if this was going to be the first time she laid eyes on Bellamy and he laid eyes on her there were other things she was going to need to plan for which were things that didn't come easily to a nerd like her but she was going to need to try and plan for them all the same.

Chicago

'Just give it up my friend,' an older gentlemen said to his younger companion in a large dark room who was staring down at the chess board that was between the two of them frustration clear on his face 'you've lost another one.'

'Be quiet old man,' the younger one snapped frustration clear in his voice as he glared down at the board that was lit up by one of the sickly yellow lights that hung from the sealing trying to figure a way to get his king to safety. 'There must be some way out of this,' he whispered now chewing on one of his nails as he continued to glare at the board trying to find a way as it wobbled slightly on the old rickety table they had put it on.

'Sure, my funny friend,' the older man smiled mockingly rolling his eyes at his companion's demeanour as he spoke, chess was a game his friend had yet to get good at so he lost many of their games which was something his friend did not like happening. In spite of what he had said the older man could see a few options his young chess partner could try which was why he had tried to steal a victory here by getting in his head so now he waited to see if he would go for any of them. Chess was confusing for his young companion hence all the losing and his singular lack of being able to find relief so the old man wasn't especially worried about the prospect of losing this game so much, so his attention drifted away from the board to what the two of them were watching over.

The lighting in the room wasn't good plus they were in the basement level of the building so he could barely see the servers even though they were only a short distance away from them grouped together like a group of twelve imposing Spector's in the dark, he could still make them out though. The monitors that were between them and the servers added to this effect as well the light of the live computer screens hitting the servers and casting shadows every which way making them all the more imposing. If he was a lesser man he would find sitting in this room at close to midnight scary but after the various experience's of his long life he was past such childlike concerns, plus what he was being paid too monitor the servers while they did there searching was enough to make anyone brave in his mind.

The older man was about to turn back to his younger companion and again try and trick him into conceding there game but just then one of the computer screens he was examining turned red then a moment later they all turned red and a low beeping sound started. 'Looks like we've got something,' he chuckled getting up from his tattered old office chair and walking slowly over to the screens internally wondering what it would be this time as he did so.

'I bet you anything it's nothing,' his young companion said not moving from his own slightly newer office chair curiously choosing now to finally make his move looking over at the older man once he had done so.

'Well you know how things work,' the old man began leaning over one of the monitors and beginning to tap buttons 'whenever these servers find something we look at what they've found and decide whether or not to run it up the chain.'

'How often does that happen,' the young man joked laughing a sarcastic laugh as the old man looked at what was being presented to them by the illegal server farm they were in charge of. There was a moment of silence while the old man read and the young man watched him but eventually the young man broke it 'what is it then,' he asked curiosity creeping into his voice 'another supposed traveller sighting.

The old man didn't respond though looking up from the computer screens he quickly walked over to one of the walls of the room and picked up one of the old looking phones that were attached to that spot of wall. Seeing the old man pick up this phone which was a muted red colour immediately got the younger man out of his seat and moving over to look at the monitors himself, 'what have they found,' he asked shock clear in his voice as he started to look at the computer displays.

'Looks like someone's found a first edition of the book,' the older man said tapping his foot impatiently as he waited to be put through, he knew all too well what this could mean so top brass were going to need to get moving on this quickly. 'This is farm 27,' he almost shouted the moment someone answered on the other end of the phone 'and I think we've got a lead on a first edition out in the wild so were going to need to get someone on this as quickly as possible.'

Well there we are, I hope you enjoyed this first chapter. If you did please leave a comment I always like to hear what people think.
