Lauren felt a nudge to her body. She dug into her pillow not wanting to wake up just yet. She and Bo are having their sex marathon in her bedroom doing the macarena dance in the bed, moaning when Bo is licking her neck and nipping at the right place just right there Bo… She was about to moan how good it is.

Until the nudge became more persistent and deeper in her back. She mumbled underneath the pillow. "Leave me alone, give me ten more mins Bo." Still in her dream of Bo waking her up for another hour of bow chica wow wow, Kenzi just scream when she burst into her room. What?

"Who the hell is Bo?" A happy voice penetrated through her cloud mind questioning her.

Lauren's mind stopped, then she opens her right eye trying to discern where she is. And realize Bo and her haven't been an item at all. So, who is talking to her at her apartment, then it dawns on her she's not at the Dark fae compound.

She shot up and nearly fell off her cot, flinging her pillow and blanket towards the person who spoke.

"Hey!" the person trying to disentangle himself from the sheets and the pillow.

Lauren sat on the edge of the cot, trying to get her bearings straight. So, her dream of Bo is not real but it seems like it.

Looking down while she rested her face on her hands, thinking clearly when the sleep fog cleared her mind. She might as well dress for work.

"You're still here?" not looking up, knowing him he's studying her again. Hopefully, he's not fae. But knowing how Evony is, she's checking up on me or not. She couldn't care less but she does.

"Lauren, c'mon. Need to get you ready in 45 mins. You better get breakfast and your gear up." Walking over to her, putting his hand on her shoulder for comfort. "I know it's been a while since you came back to drudgery."

She knew what he was talking about. There were nights that Lauren had been trying to forget this place. Standing up, walking over to her fatigues that are almost the color of the desert.

"Ok. I will be out in an hour." Turning around, smirking at him.

"Major, forty-five minutes." Trying not to smile. "See you outside."

Lauren gave a big sigh; she's been here three months. The dry heat, the incessant sun and sands she's finally getting use to; except for the sands. She started smiling, now she gotta get a move on taking off her pjs.

In less than thirty minutes she's having her breakfast with all her gear next to her. Glancing at her watch she has another ten minutes before they move out. She chewed a little faster than necessary and in no time, she was standing outside the mess hall with the sun ablaze high up at zero-eight hundred hours. She has been thinking about them, she couldn't help wondering what they're doing. At the beginning of each day, she does think about Bo. Then Kenzi will be wondering, she knows Kenzi will be waiting for her to call so they could go out. It was fun having a good time with the little goth. Laughing to herself…except when she's alone.

-Flashback three months ago—

She was sitting in her apartment watching TV, her favorite show Star Trek. She is lonely that much is true nowadays. Since Bo has decided Rainer was her destiny at that moment flaunting him to everyone, she knew she never mattered to Bo. Even after the whole debacle, finding out he was just like everyone else and died.

After Rainer – Bo decided she wanted to try to have a relationship with Dyson again, knowing he had his love back a while before Rainer showed up. The time they've been together Bo has decided to limit her interaction with Lauren to a minimum which that means barely visiting her at the Dark fae compound and that was a month ago. And during that time Lauren has been spending more with Kenzi; they would meet up at some diner or go shopping or watch some movies. Bo didn't mind that they are spending time together as friends.

Oh well, being with the Dark Fae has some advantages. She's going to ask Evony if she can take a vacation, because at this rate she would like to find someone who needed her for once, even if it's only for a week or two.

The knocking at the door of her apartment disturbed her out of her musing. She knew Bo is not here for her, she has an idea where they are at this moment, either at the Dal or at her bedroom at the crack shack she called home. She bitterly thought and she couldn't help feeling sorry for herself at this moment.

The knocking wouldn't stop incessantly, she yelled, "I'm coming!" She finally realized what she said, she hoped it's the one thing she'd rather say to her bedmate not the door.

She looked through the peep hole seeing military personnel standing at the other end. She stepped back, closed her eyes, resting her forehead against the door, knowing what would happen the moment she opens.

Taking a deep breath, she swung the door slowly to face another reality of her past.

"Yes." Her voice steady.

"Capt. Lewis?" the lieutenant asked, she can tell by the insignia in his lapel.

Lauren hadn't heard that since she was in Afghanistan eight years ago.

"Yes, I'm Captain Lewis." Her firm tone took over.

"I'm here to collect you, ma'am." His stance wavered a bit standing at attention.

"By whose orders, Liet.?" Dreading the name.

"General Richard Mast, ma'am." Standing in absolute attention. "Here are your orders, ma'am. We are to take you now."

Lauren wince at the name of her former commander. In her opinion he was such a fucking prick, but fair.

"Ma'am, we will wait for you downstairs." He eyed her at her attire, knowing this will take longer. She didn't answer him immediately while looking at the documents in her hand, but nodded.

Lauren suddenly realized, she needed to call Evony right away. Picking up her cell, she dialed her number and the moment she picks up.

"Evony, I have the US/Canadian army personnel at my apartment lobby. I have been ordered to go with them. They've given my orders." Without giving Evony a second to respond.

Evony screamed, "What?!" she heard muffle movements. "I'll be there in ten minutes." She heard her slammed the phone.

Lauren started packing what clothes she needed and situating bits of her stuff making sure no one's going to touch them.

While packing some of her stuff into her small luggage, Evony stride in angrily her heels making a rough clicking noise on the wooden floor.

She immediately handed Evony her orders from the military. Evony went through the documents eyeing some key words, figuring out if she's able to keep the doctor from leaving.

"The military personnel are downstairs Evony. I hope you didn't send them to their death." Scrutinizing her, hopefully she didn't kill them.

"What do you take me for Lauren?" replying while she kept on reading the documents in her hands, Evony could tell its really legit. "No, I didn't kill them. They're waiting for you downstairs."

"Ok, Dr. Lewis. If you must go. You must." Eyeing her now as Lauren packed and rearranging her apartment in a certain way to make sure no one bothers them.

"Don't worry Lauren, no one is going to be in here until you get back." Tilting her head, studying her at the way Lauren still putting things in certain order.

"I know Evony. I want to make sure my collections of DVDs are not to be trifled with, especially my Sci-Fi collections."

Shaking her head, her doctor is a total nerd when it comes to her entertainments.

"What should I tell Bo?" raising her right eyebrow.

Lauren at that moment really didn't care, she can have him and any lovers she wants. Bo…hadn't called her or visited for the last month. She did try calling once and left a voicemail but was ignored. So no, Bo doesn't need to hear from her.

"Honestly, Evony you can tell her that I left." Surveying her room one more time while she said it. Her mind is not with Bo at this moment, her concern is what happens out in the desert.

Just as she said it, the army personnel came back knocking at her door again. Loudly speaking through the thick wood. "Captain Lewis, I'm sorry ma'am we've got our orders. We need to leave now."

Lauren opens the door, "Lieutenant, I will be out in just ten minutes." Her gruff command.

Evony inwardly smiled at the thought of Lauren being in charge. She sashayed to Lauren, liking that tone of hers. She should have slept with Lauren when she had the opportunity.

Standing close to the doctor, looking at her in the eye. "Just don't get yourself killed Lauren." Reaching out to one of her hair that is hanging loosely near her face, she put it behind her ear. While handing the documents back to her with the other.

Lauren for her part, she is going to miss Evony, she's really nice in the inside, only if you don't mess with her then you'll be fine. I am thankful to Evony, she didn't have her signed the document to be servitude to the Dark. And they never spoked about it since then.

"Evony, if you don't mind? Can you please give this to Kenzi when you see her?" Handing her an envelope with Kenzi's name written on it. Evony nodded, holding the envelope.

She didn't know if she should hug or tell her goodbye. Evony could see it in her eyes that she's not sure if she's coming back or not. So, the only soft side she showed to Lauren by giving her a hug, and held her for a few seconds longer than necessary.

Evony whispered, "Be careful Lauren, skype me when you arrive."

Lauren step outside her door hesitating to leave unknowing if she'll be back. She wanted to tell Kenzi by calling her except she didn't want to talk to Bo if she's with her. The envelope is enough for Kenzi. She look at Evony one last time, they'll keep in touch for sure. It's just different when in person versus the phone or talking via computer. Don't be nervous, you'll come back.

She gave a genuine smile to Evony, she straightens her body and saluted her and walk away.

Evony stood in the middle of the room, looking around. She has to make sure this place is clean when Lauren comes back. She's blinking back the tears because she's really afraid that she might not see Lauren after this. So, she took a deep breath, getting ready when Bo finds out Lauren's gone.

Back to the present-

Soaking up the sun, this is how my days have been starting each day. The best thing about not being in Toronto is because of Bo and the faes. I don't need to see either of them except I do see them here but they are not exposing themselves they are being indiscreet.

Taking a deep breath, Lauren looked up at the sun that is three quarters overheard with its strong rays casting down. She's glad she had bought extra sunscreens at the commissary. She started walking towards HQ, where she'll find Marcus waiting for her. When she came closer, she spots him waiting for her outside the entrance smoking, when he turns his head, he saw her and gave her a smile his eyes sparkling.

She tries to imagine being with a man, if she did Marcus would be the one. With his height, he's around five foot ten inches almost at Hale's height but a little built. Shaking her head, he would be the one.

Lauren finally reached him, surprising him before he had a chance to puff his cigarettes or his cig; she reaches out to grab his cig surprising both him and herself. Lauren inhales the deadly nicotine inside her body, sputtering a few seconds later then she gave the atrocious thing back to him.

They both walk to the entrance of the tent for their briefing.
