The sun shines upon the dirt path of the obstacle course. The lush green canopies of the tall oak trees, giving a natural atmosphere and coverage from the blinding sunlight, only give leeways for it to pass through. The hustling of forest animals and leaves flowing through the current of the wind can be felt and heard. Truly relaxing and gentle nature can be.

A black haired young man, wearing a tracksuit of black, white, and orange pattern, having a scary yet gentle face, can be seen walking along the made path that is covered in dead leaves, he is currently observing the forest's canopy as they walk idly by. Alongside him is a petite blonde young girl with drills as pony tails, dressed in a flamboyant red but almost pink dress, her eyes are unique, instead of the normal circular shape people would get used to, it is shaped like that of a butterfly's wings, an X to be exact, a feature unique to only her. Her left hand is holding the young man's right, as his left is holding a towel that he is using to wipe off his sweat from his recent training.

These two are known as the dynamic duo of the Emilia Camp. The young man and the Half-Elf's Knight, Natsuki Subaru. With the young and petite girl known as Beatrice, his contracted spirit who he had rescued from the damnation of being alone for eternity. Subaru began to sigh as he wiped off the sweat with his towel that he was holding at the side of his head.

"This session's even more tiring than the last one, I almost feel that I will pass out…" Subaru said, sighing again with a face full of exhaustion.

Beatrice followed suit, seemingly as an automatic response towards her partner, "That is correct, I suppose. Though I would say that Subaru had done a good job, in fact. Betty is really proud of you." She responded, smiling a little.

"Really now? I think you're warming up on me Beako! This is a rare sight!" He said jokingly, laughing afterward.

"Subaru should know that already, I suppose!" She yelled, flailing her left arm in annoyance.

These two's relationship had certainly changed for the better quite drastically since their return from Vollachia six months ago. Now he is much wiser and quite frankly, more famous than ever before. The people of Lugunica had switched the joke title of Lolimancer, to the Sage Knight for him, mostly due to how he can seemingly 'see the future', one of the mythical and rumored qualities of the Great Sage 400 years ago. Only a few know his real name, Flugel, if that were to be his real name. The nasty-eyed boy is still skeptical of that old man's details and life.

"Betty will say that you should be careful next time, I suppose. You almost broke your ankle, Betty does not want to spend unnecessary mana to heal you again!" She warned, huffing shortly after like the tsundere she is. Though really, it shows how much she cared for him, even in the body of a little girl, the great spirit Beatrice still acts like a big sister to her contractor sometimes.

That almost accident she saw during Subaru's parkour training session was really exhausting for her. He was jumping left and right like a monkey as always, but it really made her worry that he almost fell to the ground so high up during one of his high jumps. If she was human, she would certainly have a heart attack right there and then.

"Yeah yeah, sorry for making you worry, Beako." He laughed in response as he pets her head after apologizing to her. Beatrice only huffed and responded with a "hmph!" as always. Although she still accepts his headpats, which were the best and still is among the members of the camp.

"You should be. Betty almost had a heart attack, in fact! I will haunt you as a ghost if Betty ever dies watching you almost falling like that!"

"And here I thought spirits can't have heart attacks, yet alone become ghosts!?"

"Betty is made to copy the human body to near perfection. It is possible! So feel sorry, I suppose!"

Subaru only panicked as he began to realize, he almost killed his partner with that near-accident, and panicked even further due to the lack of knowledge on how spirits live and die, even if he did once saw her die during the Sanctuary Crisis in one of his failed loops. Beatrice, watching him acting like that as always, only smiled. She successfully fooled him into thinking she could die watching him like that. She gestured over Subaru and began comforting him by giving him a pat in the back, or rather, behind, due to her height.

"It's alright. The words Betty uttered were only to fool you. Betty's sorry, I suppose.

Subaru, seeing her patting him on the back like that as they walked, only smiled after a light chuckle. He responded back with a head pat, and a small threat. "If you somehow die like that, I'll die too, I suppose."

"Heeehhhhhh!?" She panicked and gasped at his words. Eyes welling up in tears as she heard him saying those words to her.

"I-if Subaru actually does that, Betty and others will be sad, I suppose. *hic* Don't ever die like that! Live!"

"It-it was only an expression! Don't worry about it! I promise I won't die like that! Please!"

He only panicked further after hearing her over dramatic response, and the two kept on panicking for the next few minutes as they tread across the path towards the new mansion.

Quickly enough they managed to calm down and continued onwards as usual holding each other's hands. But before they could even exit the forest, the world had suddenly changed into something much, much more different. The daylight sky, replaced with the shattered moon upon the starry night. From the looks of it, they are now not on a dirt path, but a clearing of another, unknown forest.

"What the!? A forest?"

"What is this place, in fact!?"

Both panicked, especially Subaru. The thought of the sudden possibility that he and Beatrice now in an unknown land is both certain, and confusing. He had thought Satella wouldn't do this for sure due to how genuine she wanted to die. But, this might be something else. He shook his head to clear his train of thought, as he must focus on one thing, survival.

Subaru immediately drew out the Guiltywhip, his bullwhip, in anticipation of an attack. Beatrice went to support his rear as she extended her arm to fire her spell with the same intention, she is putting an initiative as both are anticipating an attack from any direction. Soon enough, Subaru can feel something's coming from the sides. Red eyes, and a big stature, hulking bear like arms, and a body littered with bone like plates and spikes. From what Subaru can see, it's a giant black inky-looking bear.

"From the side! Beako!"

" Betty knows, in fact!"

She immediately went to cover his left and extended her hand while opening her palm towards the creature. Her expression turned serious and focused upon the beast, before uttering,

"Minya!"

Her palm began to conjure stakes of crystallized time targeting the beast, an offensive spell Beatrice herself had used to support her contractor in combat. Within the few passing moments of her incantation, she immediately launched them towards the bear, the stakes hitting both of it's arms and crystallizing the beast in a quick and decisive manner, before it shattered into pieces. But it is not over yet, as their presence attracted more.

About a dozen black wolves began to jump upon the vulnerable Subaru as Beatrice was covering his left. He leapt away to the right as a reactive response, and proceeded to flick his bullwhip at one of them from their sides. Somehow, it managed to catch some of them off guard and make them fall over briefly before they started to pick up their pace and focus on the vulnerable and weak Subaru. Really, he hates just how weak he is compared to even the simplest of mabeasts, even if the current opponents the two are fighting are not seen as such.

"Beako!"

He yelled at Beatrice's general direction to get her attention. She was observing briefly at the disintegrating bear before hearing his call. Knowing what was happening behind her, she immediately went over to Subaru as fast as she could, and proceeded to climb up his back to act as fire support. She is light as a feather, and Subaru knows that, but her shoulder grip can sometimes be quite painful due to how hard she clings onto him, especially during combat situations such as this.

"Minya!"

More stakes appeared from her right palm as she clinged onto Subaru, and she proceeded to launch them towards said pack of black wolves. Immediately, all of the stakes hit their targets, killing the wolves in a quick and timely manner. However, both of them were well aware that their fight was far from over, as they could hear monsters roaring and bushes rustling nearby. They need to form some way of escape, and immediately after thinking that, Beatrice looks toward Subaru, who is currently gritting his teeth as he tries to think up some sort of plan.

"You have a plan, I suppose?"

"Yes, stay on my back. I'll try to find an escape route. This forest is freaking me out!"

"Those creatures are weird, I suppose! Betty agrees!"

Subaru gritted his teeth as he struggled to think up a plan as a means of escape, this forest is really unknown to him. He is not sure if he can actually figure out a path for him to follow, as there are no clear signs on showing what is what, after all, it is a forest. He'll need to make a gamble and pick a direction to run into, just for them to survive.

"Try to focus on conserving your mana, I'll give you the signal once it's necessary!"

She nodded, "Alright, Betty will act cute, I suppose!"

"That's the spirit!"

He smiled after saying that joke in order to calm both him and Beatrice down. It gave him more time to think, but those beasts won't get any farther away from them just by a facade of happiness

"Betty is a spirit, in fact!"

"Alright then! Let's go!"

After a moment of quick thinking, Subaru immediately went straight into the treelines of the unknown forest. Beatrice kept clinging onto him as she kept watch for any more incoming beasts. He jumped over a log and onto a tree branch, utilising his experience in parkour as a means of a quicker way of transportation than being on foot on the ground.

"Beako! Hold on tight!"

"What are you doing, I suppose!?"

"Just hear my signal! You'll know what to do!"

Beatrice nodded, and Subaru immediately jumped once more and leapt onto another branch, a dead end. But, what he found is what he is looking for, a cliff not far, and possibly at his reach with a spell in mind he planned to be casted onto him. Immediately, with no hesitation, he screams.

"Now!"

"Murak, I suppose!"

With her incantation of the spell, Subaru began to feel his body becoming weightless, as if he was floating in outer space. With all that in mind, Subaru makes a final leap, and quickly lashes his whip onto a nearby rock at the face of the cliff to hold onto for him to climb. He is certain that they won't make it towards the cliff itself, that is why, he decided to latch onto its face instead. He places his foot onto it, and holds his whip tight.

"Heave-ho!"

Using the whip's collected force after latching and holding onto the rock, he launched himself upwards, and made sure that he detached his Guiltywhip before reaching the cliff. Shortly after that, he reached out with his left hand and held onto the edge of the cliff, before forcing himself upwards and proceeding to finally land on the cliff itself. The spell ended soon after.

"We made it, in fact!"

"Thanks to you Beako! I'll make sure to give you tons of headpats after thi-"

A bird-like roar was soon heard by both of them as they turned to face the direction of the incoming sound. The look of terror in their eyes justified what they were looking at. A bird of prey, a hawk, or an eagle, large in size, enough for it to swallow them in one gulp, coloured in black, and it is flying towards them at alarming speeds. If Subaru were to say his opinion on what this beast looked like, it would look like Rodan with feathers.

"Beako!"

"Murak, in fact!"

Right before it's talons reached them, Subaru and Beatrice quickly leaped away from the strike using their advantage of being weightless, and landed upon a cliff wall. Subaru clinged onto a rock and struggled on thinking up a plan of attack as the beast roared once more.

"Beatrice, have any ideas on how we face this one?"

Beatrice only responded with silence due to the sheer terror of the beast that was staring at them. But she soon shook that thought away and nodded to his question before answering.

"If we do a shamak spell to retreat further, we can confuse it initially before starting our attack I suppose. Betty can cast Minya after we see an opportunity to do so"

"Well I have an idea other than that, can you fire Murak again?"

Beatrice nodded while intently watching the beast below them, "Yes, I suppose. Why is it?"

"Just follow my calls!"

But before they could react, the bird finally took the initiative. It began to flap its wings intensively and launched a few bullets in the shape of black feathers at the two. Subaru fortunately managed to react fast enough and dodge those bullets before it could pierce them, and landed upon the cliff once again. The bird roared once more. Subaru cracked his whip near its ear, dazing it, before proceeding to latch onto the bird's left leg while it was distracted. He then signaled Beatrice with a growl of his own towards the black giant beast.

"Murak, in fact!"

And then, as the bird roared in response to Subaru's act, it immediately felt it's weight significantly decreased, Subaru began to lift the bird off the ground with his whip latched onto it. As if it was a feat of superhuman strength, with the aided loss of weight due to the spell that was casted to the bird, He proceeded to spin it around and flung the bird off the cliff. It was knocked back into the air helplessly, without the proper time to react. He grinned at the sight of his plan succeeding, then immediately gave Beako the kill.

"El Minya!"

Before the bird could react and try to charge back in, the spirit fired off another barrage of purple stakes towards it, numbering around 40. It can only stare at the sight of the two outsmarting it, before it's wings began crystallizing from the impact and with the final stake hitting its jaw, making the bird fall pushed to its death from the sheer momentum of each impact, now a crystalline remnant of its former self. The murak spell ended, giving its weight back and forcing gravity to do the rest of the work for the duo, making it crash to the ground and shattering upon impact. It soon began disintegrating as it's life left the body of the black beast.

"W-we did it…" He uttered in disbelief. He was only following the plan that was mimicked from when he threw Shaula with the same spell that made both opponents weightless, only adding an offensive spell for the kill. But he can't believe that it worked a second time.

"It is a matter of fact that Subaru and Betty as a duo can achieve such a feat, I suppose!" She said in a smug and bratty tone as she puffed up her chest and put her hands on her hip. She seems to be extremely proud of herself being useful to her contractor.

Subaru rested on the edge of the cliff as he looked on towards the shattered moon, after processing it inside his head, and after those beasts were felled by them, he is certain that he may have reached an obvious answer to their situation. "Beatrice?"

"What is it, I suppose?"

"I think we are transported to another world…."

Just from that statement, Beatrice was shocked, which is an expected response. Subaru can only smile, though a mix of emotions are welling up inside him as he stared into the sky, spotting a sort of craft lumbering towards them, giving twinkle off a light in the distance. He is now in yet another world, but this time, with Beatrice by his side.
