-Y/N POV-

"So much for not trashing the car" I muttered as Mozzie and I pulled up to the wrecked vehicle. We immediately rendered the car unusable, though, not that any occupants were alive to use it.

"Objective could still be inside" Mozzie said, hopping off his dirt bike. I followed him, getting off his bike as well. Oh yeah, I used my ATV as a sudden obstacle in the road, which is what caused the White Mask's to crash in the first place. As we carefully make our way to the wreckage, I immediately pry the hood open with my combat knife.

"Most things in here seem to be intact" I spoke to Mozzie as he checked the underbelly of the car for any fuel leakages. Coming up negative, we deducted that we were free from any immediate danger, and can safely search the car. I checked in the front seats, but only found dead White Masks, car parts, and a whole lot of weapons. "Definitely a weapons dealer alright" I mused, picking up an M1 Garand from the lot. Shouldering it and aiming down the irons, I smiled.

"Like that, mate?" Mozzie asked from the backseat. I smiled, resting my new weapon against the car as I moved around to the trunk.

"Love it. I'm gonna give her a slight repair, and she'll be my new ranged rifle" I spoke coming up to the trunk. The trunk door was pretty much wrecked, so I had no problem getting it open. Once I did open it ,though, I slammed it shut, fear running through my body. Shaking, I wandered back around to the middle seats, and tapped Mozzie on the shoulder. "We have a huge problem. I'm gonna radio the girls. Do me a favor and don't touch the trunk" I told him.

"Will do, mate" he confirmed, giving me a thumbs up. Nearing 20 minutes later, I see Cav's RSR pull off the backroad and park right by us. The driver side window rolled down, and all I could see was Ash giving us a sour face.

"I thought I told you NOT to trash it?" she spoke, unbuckling her seatbelt. I rubbed the back of my neck.

"Well, Mozzie had a way to stop it, which meant this" I said, pointing to the trashed White Mask vehicle. "We were on the freeway, so we had to take a risk". Ash grumbled, but nodded.

"Did we at least secure the objective?" she asked. I shrugged, then nodded.

"Still in the trunk. I'd highly advise we keep it there until we get Doc or Finka down here to grab it" Ash nodded as the passenger door opened, and Caveira stepped out. I smiled at her, then quickly looked in horror at her. Her entire shoulder was soaked in blood. It was bandaged, pretty hastily, but it was clear she needed medical attention. "Cavy? Babe what happened!?" I asked her as she made her way to the car. I stopped her midway, making sure we shared eye contact. She sighed.

"White Mask asshole got a lucky shot in" my eyes widened as Caveira smirked. "Don't worry, meu amor. We ran him over" she chuckled, jerking her thumb over to her shoulder, pointing to her car. I looked over to it, and for the first time, noticed the new blood splatter pattern staining the bumper and hood. I chuckled.

"Nice" I smiled, looking back to Caveira. "Babe, you need medical aid. Let's get you back to base-"

"Mission comes first" she spoke in a flat tone before walking over to the trunk.

"Babe! I wouldn't if I were you!" I warned her, jogging over to her as she opened the trunk.

"Can't be that bad, babe, it-" she trailed off, locking eyes with the objective. I saw the fear in her face, and the tears well up in her eyes. Almost as soon as she opened the trunk, she slammed it shut, walked up to me, and crushed me in a tight-ass bear hug. I said nothing as I held her, feeling her shudder in my grasp.

"She okay?" Ash asked me as she came by, stopping in front of us. I shook my head slightly.

"You know how Cav and I switched bodies a while ago?" I whispered to her, still holding Caveira. Slowly, Ash nodded. "Well" I let out a breath, rubbing circles on Caveira's back. "The stuff that's in there is what caused that" I whispered. I saw her eyes go wide, and her mouth hung open for a bit. Getting over the slight shock, she took out her cellphone, and proceeded to make a call back to base. Meanwhile, Caveira was getting over her shock at seeing the stuff, and pulled away from me, wincing at her wounded shoulder.

"Babe, let me take you back to base and get you to Doc. Ash and Mozzie will finish up here" I spoke to her. She shook her head.

"Six sent us four to complete the mission, and that's what we're gonna do" she spoke, determination replacing the fear that was in her voice a few seconds ago.

"Caveira...Y/N's right" Ash spoke, striding over to them, pocketing her cell. "You lost a large amount of blood, plus that wound needs to be treated for infection" she spoke. Caveira was about to protest, but Ash spoke up again. "I just called Six. She's sending Finka and Lion to our location, and ordered you and Y/N back to base. Doc is on standby to give you medical aid" she told her. Slowly, she nodded.

"Please, just don't breath that stuff in. As far as I'm concerned, that's what happened to us" Caveira informed, pointing back and forth between me and her. Ash nodded, pulling out a bandana from one of her tac vest pouches.

"Head back to base with Y/N, and get some rest. We need you on the field, but you'll be no help to anyone in that shape" she said, tying the bandana over her nose and mouth.

"What's with that?" Mozzie asked, walking over to us. Ash shrugged as she finished tying the bandana.

"Y/N informed me that the objective is highly toxic, so watch your oxygen intaking devices" she nudged Mozzie as she said this, who gave a chuckle.

"Rest of the car is full of bodies and weapons. Mostly automatic" Mozzie filled in. Ash nodded as a steady droning filled the air. Looking up, I saw a helicopter come in for a landing on the open field not so far away. I watch as Lion and Finka jump out, motioning me and Caveira to hop aboard. Sighing, Caveira let me take her to the vehicle, helping her in on account of her bad shoulder.

"Seriously, though, Cav's right" I speak to Ash as she came up to grab some equipment from the helicopter. "Be careful with that stuff"

"Operation Chimera was worse than this" Ash smirked, turning to face me. Seeing me concerned for her well being, her mood lightened, and a small smile formed on her lips. "I'll be careful. Trust me. Plus-" she spoke, pointing over to Lion, Finka and Mozzie, in which Mozzie was filling Lion and Finka in on what was going on. "-I have professionals to help out"

"You mean, you have professionals, and Mozzie?" Caveira spoke from the helicopter, earning a laugh from Ash. I chuckled, hopping onto the heli. Setting down my new M1 Garand rifle, I gave Ash a solute before we took off, her returning it enthusiastically. Shutting the sliding door to the heli's belly, I faced Cav, who had a smug grin on her face.

"What?" I asked.

"You really care about Ash" she commented, flatly.

"Um, yeah, I care about everyone on the team. I would've acted that same way if it was Mozzie, or Finka, or Lion, or anyone else." I told her.

"So I don't have anything to worry about?" she asked. My eyes went wide as I realized how that must have looked to her.

"No, babe, I'm sorry if it looked like I liked her like that. I only like you. If anything, Ash is like a sister to me. A very bratty, stuck up, annoying sister" Caveira clicked her tongue at the comment as I sat down beside her, her leaning her head onto my shoulder.

"Good. Don't you ever try to cheat on me, or leave me meu amor." she spoke, trying to snuggle deeper into me, before straining her shoulder, and letting out a cry that made me cringe. I readjusted myself carefully so she wouldn't be straining her shoulder.

"I would never think of it"

-1 hour later-

I stood next to Caveira as we watched her RSR pull into the parking garage built underneath Hereford base. Doc had stitched up her wound, wrapping the area pretty generously in bandages, informing her that she was able to move it, just nothing too sudden or nothing that would overwork it.

"Need to get that blood stain buffed out" she noted, sipping her water bottle, which was filled with OJ to help replenish the sugars and electrolytes she lost from the blood loss.

"I think it looks badass, but it's your car" I told her. She let out a smirk, throwing a clump of her teal-streaked black hair over her shoulder, taking another swig of her juice.

"Yeah, but I wanna retain that distinctive red, white, and black color scheme" she said flatly as Ash, Finka and Lion stepped out. Mozzie came into the garage as they climbed out, shutting off his dirt bike and removing his helmet. I walked over to the car with Caveira to observe what was done with the objective. I watch as Lion pulls out a tight-sealed case from the back seat, and hands it to Finka, who left to take it to the lab without a word.

"In a rush?" Caveira asked. Lion shrugged.

"We want to know what exactly it is, and the quicker we know, the quicker we can counter it" he spoke. Caveira nodded, turning her attention back to Ash.

"Ash, we need to talk" she spoke rather sternly. I raised an eyebrow.

"Should we give you two some space?" I asked, motioning at me, Mozzie, and Lion.

"No, you're fine" Caveira assured, not breaking eye contact with Ash.

-Caveira POV-

"What the hell, Ash!?" I let out, glaring daggers into her soul. Ash looked at me with a hint of shock, but kept it hidden, for the most part, by her emotionless face. Lion stuck around to try and get the blood off my car, while Y/N and Mozzie got called down to Six's office for a mission report.

"Care to explain?" Ash asked, raising an eyebrow. I growled.

"Why was I not fully informed of what was going on?!" I asked, still on edge.

"I didn't even know what the stuff was!" Ash countered, growing heated. I took a breath before talking again.

"I mean from the beginning, Ash. Why was I not in the loop!? Why did I not know we were dealing with a biological weapon!? Why did only you know!?" I ranted. What I meant by the last question was that neither Y/N nor Mozzie knew that we were dealing with a biological weapon. Only Ash knew the truth behind what we were dealing with.

"Stuff like that is on a need-to-know basis only, and you were not on that basis" Ash spoke calmly, trying to ease the tension in the garage, to no effect.

"You stupid idiota, that's information that can determine the outcome of the mission! You risked the entirety of the mission, and potentially our lives, by not keeping the three of us in loop!" I cried, right in her face. She took a step back, only to back into my car. I effectively had her pinned. "The success of a mission is driven by the people fulfilling that mission!" I pressed on. "That can't happen unless everyone knows what's going on! What if the objective wasn't secure? What if Mozzie and Y/N's little stunt to stop the car broke the vile, huh? That stuff would be in the air now, going god knows where, and we'd have no way to stop it!" I growled. Ash's face turned to sorrow, with a hint of fear mixed in. Feeling a bit guilty at my aggression, I stepped back, allowing Ash some breathing room.

"I knew Y/N and Mozzie wouldn't destroy the objective. They're great ops, who know how to handle these types of situations" Ash spoke.

"Oh, so it's me then? I'm expected to just 'follow the rules' and everything turns out peachy?" I asked. Ash sighed.

"I can't talk about this right now. Six want's me to disband another illegal arms dealer in the town-"

"Plus, we all have to follow rules" Lion spoke up, coming around my car. "We're soldiers, meant to take and execute orders, no questions asked." he filled in. I growled.

"At BOPE, they didn't want me to ask questions either. Eventually, that didn't work for me. That's why I ended up here!" I hissed.

"And we're glad to have you!" Lion chuckled as he went to exit the garage.

"Ugh!" I growled at him. "You are so frustrating!"

"Yep, heard that one before" he chuckled as he exited. As he left, I turned back around to face Ash.

"You know what, I'm done asking questions. I'm TELLING you that I'm coming with you to disband this arms dealer guy" I informed, crossing my arms over my chest, bearing a serious smile.

"You know," Ash chuckled, holding the door into base open for me. "You can be pretty frustrating too, sometimes." I smirked.

"Learn from the best"

Apologies for the late update, schools been very demanding right now, but hopefully I've hit some doldrums with school work. Anyway, peace out for now!
