Static staired down at his lunch as he sat at a table by himself in one of the schools many gazebos. His dark blue suit blended in well with his mostly purple fur. His red tie stuck out tastefully with his white dress shirt that barely showed themselves due to being covered from one of his many expensive school suits. He was 14 years old and halfway through his freshman year at his elite private high school, that his farther, and his father before, had attended. In a few years his younger sister would also be placed into the same setting where she would, as well as he, excel.

The young male squirrel's usual upbeat mood was replaced with one of sadness and reluctance. He continued to look down at his food, seemingly lost in thought, until a few familiar voices called out to him from behind. Their words quickly causing him to snap out of his depressed daze and look over his shoulder with a less enthusiastic grin than usual.

"Static!" A gray squirrel of the same age called out to him in almost war toned manor as he ran up and threw his own, now half eaten plate, next to his friends. The other young male squirrel then nudged Static before taking another large bite of food after sitting down.

"What the fuck are you doing out here?" A black and white male squirrel chimed in as he took a seat across from the two. "Are there some shy girls looking to give head that I don't know about?" The two new comers started to laugh as Static just grinned at him trying to pretend to find the joke funny.

Ryan, the gray furred male, and Blitz the black and white furred male, where both seemly obsessed with the idea of sex, or at least trying to fake it to all the other males. Static was curious but hadn't hit the point that his two closest friends acted out they had reached. He still thought they were full of shit, but by no means wanted to call them out on it, as they would call him a queer for not being where they pretended to be at their current age. Static knew full well he liked girls, but most females seemed like a bigger pain to deal with than they were worth, at least for the time being in his still early stage of puberty.

"Just thinking." Static responded as he started to eat to fall in line with his friends.

"This isn't the right place for thinking like that, bro!" Blitz slapped his hand down on the table and laughed while Ryan's laugh followed his shortly.

"My parents are fighting." Static stated loudly and very seriously causing his friends to go silent quickly.

"So?" Ryan asked. "My parents fight all the time."

"Yeah, really!" Blitz echoed his approval of Ryan's not caring response.

"It's really bad." Static went back to staring at his food, and barely finding himself able to hold back his frustrated emotions of sorrow.

His two male friends seemed to notice his peril and become uncomfortable; however, they were both good enough friends they held their place and tried to focus on upping their male stature and bring him right up there with them.

"Come on, man! Our folks are so caught up in themselves why should we care what they are fighting about each day? Mine are always fighting. Aren't yours always fighting? Man, sometimes I just wish they'd get a divorce already. You know David Blake's parents split the other year and he get whatever he wants now! Sign me up for that shit!" Ryan stated while slapping Static on the back trying to cheer his friend up, but still showing through his speech, and facial expression, that this conversation was greatly upsetting to him as well.

"Yeah. I'd even take less money a month just to hear less of their lame ass drama." Blitz added. "Adults are so fucking dumb."

"Yeah." Static agreed while now really finding the will to eat his lunch before him. "You guys still wanna see that horror movie this weekend?" He asked as his mood picked up just enough to find himself more interesting in his daily life than worrying about the outcome of his family.

"OH, hell yes!" Ryan slammed his fists on the table while the other male nodded his head in approval as his mouth was full. "My cousin Rebecca is gonna take us, and she's bringing a few of her hot friends!"

"OH GOD YES!" Blitz cried out before swallowing all the food in his mouth.

"Isn't she in college?" Static asked now finding himself a little nervous at the though of being around fully developed girls.

"Yep! But, come on, Stat! Older women are so freaking hot!" Ryan laughed.

"Yeah." Static responded a not so enthusiastic, but he made up for it with his devious grin to his friend. He did like older girls... not too much older, but he enjoyed being around females that could teach him a thing or two... even if only at this time it had only been book work and not... He let out a small huff as he found himself getting just a little bit flustered about the times to come.
