A/N I wasn't going to do anymore writing today but I'm dedicating this Chapter to Railman. Thank you for inspiring me to write this little bit to answer your question

Louise had tears in her eyes "Oh Walter are my old eyes deceiving me? Am I a grandmother?" Walter was too shocked at the question to respond while Paige and Ralph answered at the same time "no" "yes".

Paige gave her son a exasperated look as she clarified things for poor Louise who looked like her heart was breaking- she'd been so hopeful in those few seconds that her son had found love and that she'd have a grandchild to spoil.

"Walter is-" Paige paused as she decided how to articulate what she was about to say "-a Surrogate Father to Ralph. Ralph is enabled like Walter- before Walter came into our lives he could barely communicate, he was so lost in his own mind that he could barely function day-to-day, he had no friends and he would barely look at me let alone hug me. Now he's a different child. He has so many friends, he's so much happier and is able to reach his full potential with Scorpion. I don't know what I'd do without Walter in my life" she said tearily.

Walter hugged Ralph tighter to him while he tried to suppress tears of his own. He had no idea she'd felt so strongly about his influence on Ralph's life. Her referring to him being Ralph's (Surrogate) Father filled him with so much joy. He didn't think it was possible but he fell in love with her a little more in that moment. He only wished he had the courage to tell her how he felt before it was too late.

"Well-" Louise finally replied still misty eyed "surrogate Father is as good as Father to me. Ralph sweetheart would like to come bake some cookies with your Grandma?" She asked cheerfully at the boy who nodded enthusiastically and ran eagerly towards a chuckling Louise.

Sean felt a twinge in his heart at his wife's words. He was proud of his son and happy for him for creating such a bond and like Louise was happy to consider Ralph as good as their grandchild, but the feeling he felt of being replaced resurfaced again. He hoped Ralph's biological father didn't feel inadequate and jealous of Walter like he felt towards Cabe.

He didn't blame Walter of course he didn't. He just wished he had-had some sort of genius cheat book to connect with his son before it was too late.

One thing was for sure- Sean was going to try his hardest be the best damn granddad the world had ever seen... and hopefully mend his relationship with his son in the process.

He just hoped Walter could save him from the awful situation he and many other Irish citizens had unwittingly found themselves in.

Without being redeemed there was only so long they could hold off the wolves.
