AN: I never liked how Professor Hamilton was kinda brushed to the side so naturally i decided to give some context.

Metropolis Courthouse

It was a solemn day in the courtroom at the City of Tomorrow where the jury had made an unanimous decision regarding the verdict of one Professor Emil Hamilton for his illegal cloning experiments. He was arrested by the FBI almost immediately after Justice League had stopped Brainiac from destroying the world thanks to one of his co workers at the now decommissioned Project Cadmus being a mule for the Federal agency. Galatea was still in a comatose state following her fight with Supergirl at the Watchtower, was in a red sun generated cell to strip her of her powers in case she woke up. Lex Luthor, the master puppeteer and the unwitting pawn of the Kryptonian A.I. was serving three consecutive life sentences at Stryker's Island. The arresting Agent Matthew Johnston was in attendance. The disgraced ex director of Star Labs was quiet during the trial sessions as the prosecutor dissected the professor limb from limb and despite the efforts of his lawyer trying to appeal for a lenient sentence, the US State attorney didn't take the bait and pushed forward with the amount of evidence he had at his disposal.

"Has the jury reached a verdict?" Judge Fenton asked a female foreman. The head Juror nodded as she stood up and read the letter that contained the decision.

"We have, your honor. We find the defendant Professor Emil Hamilton guilty on all charges." Jury informed the judge. The murmurs broke out in, some were of relief while others were in dismay. Professor Hamilton lowered his head in shame. The Icing on the cake. Judge Fenton banged his gravel to maintain silence in the court.

A Day after Cadmus Crisis

Washington DC

Cadmus

Matthew was walking down the corridor of Cadmus along with few FBI agents. Ignoring some of the stares they got from the employees, they went straight to Professor Hamilton's office where the director was a bit bemused as to why the federal agents was here. Matt had been running a off book investigation on Cadmus since it was formed in the wake of Darkseid's attack. It was when Lex was revealed to be the mastermind behind the conflict between Justice League and Cadmus, the FBI mule inside Cadmus stepped forward and gave every documentation of what they were doing off the record to him. She was his canary in the coal mine.

"Professor Emil Hamilton. You're under arrest." Matthew declared as the agents went behind a bewildered Hamilton's back and slapped the handcuffs on his wrists.

"For what?" Hamilton couldn't keep the surprise tone out in his voice. Matthew looked at him in slight anger as if he didn't know it already.

"The last six years. The illegal metahuman and genetic cloning experiments as well as aiding and abetting Dr. Halstrom's murder!" The FBI agent listed off the crimes that Hamilton had committed. Emil's face paled in horror, realizing in that moment, his career as the director of Star Labs and a teacher at Metropolis University was finished. "One of your former colleagues from Cadmus gave us everything. Already got herself full immunity. Not you though."

Dr. Hamilton was escorted out of the building and to his surprise, he saw a Caucasian brunette standing on the side walk. He immediately recognized her as a Dr. Emily Eisenberg who he worked with previously at Project Cadmus standing behind a SUV.

"You told them... All of it?" Dr. Hamilton inquired slowly, not wanting to believe that she did it. Agent Johnston detected a hint of suppressed rage in his tone. "You made a deal and you're sending me to prison?"

"I'm sorry professor but when you aided General Hardcastle in Halstrom's death, that was it for me." Dr. Eisenberg replied.

"You're goddamn sorry?!" Emil bellowed, struggling against his arrestors. "I did what I had to do! To ensure mankind's survival!"

"You left me with no choice."

"What about my own choice?! Where were you when Waller sweet talked me into joining Cadmus?! Huh?!" Hamilton continued on as he was pushed into the backseat of the SUV.

An Hour Later

FBI Headquarters

Interrogation room.

Emil had his head hung low in guilt as Matthew began reading the confession letter the Dr. Eisenberg had supplied to the agent inside the interrogation room at the J Edgar Hoover building.

"It's been said, that fear can cause two things: paranoia or the will to overcome your fears. You chose the former the moment you joined Cadmus. But it's only natural isn't it? Humanity have always feared what is beyond their understanding. But what's inexcusable was that not only did you just betray an oath but you also violated a trust. A trust between you and Superman who is doing his best to redeem for his sins was broken the moment you became Lex Luthor's puppet. I find it ironic though that not only were you Luthor's puppet but you inadvertently paved way for an evil alien Artificial intelligence to destroy not only the world you sworn to protect but the universe as well if it hadn't been for the Justice League. I hope you take a good long look at yourself, Emil because with the evidence I gave to the FBI, you won't get out of prison for a very long time."

Matthew tucked the letter safely into the his jack pocket once he was finished. "Got anything to add, professor?

"I only did what I thought was right." Emil said simply.

And to Hamilton's credit, he didn't request a deal or a plea bargain when he was put on trial a few months later and in that time he'd lost everything. His job and his position as the Director of Star Labs. He was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole at a maximum security prison in Nevada. It's a shame really of how such a brilliant mind can easily be morally corrupt despite how honorable his intentions may have be.
