Apologies in advance for any incorrect info here, just got back into the game and having a blast, decided I'd throw together a little story with farming, friendship, family, and love. so sit back, get /comfy, and water those crops.

The mountains always helped him think.

As a child, he'd go hiking in them with his family; his father would take him hunting with his sister sometimes. That had been years ago, before he graduated, before he went corporate to put food on the table, selling his soul for a meal. But even still, he loved the mountains, even if only from a distance as they slowly slid by.

"Whatcha thinking?"

"About how much this is gonna suck at first..."

Turning his head, the man faced his sister, who was nervously fidgeting in her seat. They'd grown up together, practically inseperable since birth ('together in the womb, together outside the womb!' their father used to say). When the man had opened his letter of inheritance from dear old Grandpa Bill, he'd taken the chance and ran with it, knowing another day at JoJa would have seen him tearing his eyes out.

"Seven different bosses, seven different times he demands those damned TPS reports..."He was glad he got out when he did. It took one last act to convince him leaving; His friend, Peter Gibbons, just... stopped showing up to work one day. That was it, just gone. And when he returned, he was a new man, practically unconcerned with anything to do with JoJa. If he could be that happy by cutting the corporation out of his life, why not anyone? And he already had an out. Besides, that Milton guy was starting to look a little unstable...

Naturally, he offered his sister the chance to come along. She smiled, threw down her apron covered in 'spirit buttons' (whatever those were) and walked out, copying her own co-worker and flipping her boss the bird out the door. He'd just tenured his resignation, but his sister always had a bit of... uh... 'flair". Yeah, that's a word for it.

"Ha! Cmon, it'll be eezy peezy, what's farming anyway? Remember when we used to look for bugs? Same thing! You just... Put seeds in the dirt instead."

"Oh yeah?" He smirked, "You gonna eat the dirt here too?"

"T-that was one time!"

He laughed, receiving a slug in the shoulder for his trouble, as the bus lurched to a stop.

His sister sprang up, grabbing her old military surplus bag and bouncing up and down to get off the vehicle. For his part, he grabbed his own bag and followed

What really struck him was the air at first. Clear, crisp, and practically radiating... Something, but it was definitely comfy. Smiling at the twins was an old man that his sister immediately launched into a hug twords

"MAYOR LEWIS!"

"WHOAH now girl! Hahaha, these old bones aren't quite what they used to be! Leave an old man standing would ya?"

"No can do old timer, it's been way too long!"

The old mayor smiled, chuckling as he returned the hug

"Yes, it has. And where's your clone?"

"You know," The man replied, "I was born first, so technically she's a clone of me."

"Aha! There he is- Woah, they've been feeding you good haven't they son? You've gotten big!"

He shrugged, a bit sheepish; His family had a habit of being rather broad shouldered and tall, and his time playing sports in his youth had only helped it. His sister, by contrast, had according to their father not eaten enough corn feed growing up, and was designed to an existance of 5'3 height for the rest of her life.

Taking the man's hand, he was soon pulled into a half embrace, "Good to see ya, Mayor Lewis."

"And likewise. Was a bit surprised hearing that you decided to move into town- not in a bad way, of course! -but Old Bill's farm might be in a bit of a sore state. I've taken care of what I could, but eh... years take their toll, son."

"Don't I know it..."

"Anyway, here's someone I'd like you to meet! Robin, cmon over a spell!"

The twins turned their heads to the new arrival; Having been so wrapped up in their reunion, they failed to notice the redhead standing a few feet away.

"Well it's about time! You wouldn't even tell me the names of our newest farmers here, I've been feeling mighty left out!"

The twins turned their eyes back to the mayor, eyes narrowed in annoyance; For his part, Mayor Lewis let out a rueful chuckle, but his eyes held mischief

"Oh, I just wanted to let them introduce themselves instead! Go on young'uns, say hello!"

Rolling his eyes, the older brother shook the woman's hand.

"Hey, I'm Jack."

"Nice to meet you, Jack. And this is your sister I take it?"

"You know it! I'm Jill, pleasure!" His sister took the carpenters hand, shaking it enthusiastically

Robin's smile faultered for a split second, before responding and barely holding back giggles

"Wait... Jack and J-"

"Yeah, yeah, we know." The two said, exasperated.

"Wow, I almost think you rehearsed that!"

"We get it alot." Jack said, throwing another accusatory glare twords the mayor, who took it in stride with a wink

"Ah, sorry kiddos, couldn't resist! Anyway, let's get on over to the farm, yeah?"

Nodding, the two twins picked up their belongings and headed out, Robin humming a suspiciously familiar nursery rhyme under her breath

Yeah, yeah, I know; Jack and Jill. My genius is... it's frightening, sometimes.
