Abby parked her car at the head of the jogging trail in Golden Gate Park. She opened the door and swung her legs out of the small, red, Mini Cooper. She checked her laces to make sure they were tight, then plugged her earbuds into her phone, and closed the car door. She put one hand on the top of the car to help her balance as she kicked up one leg into her other hand to stretch. Once she was done stretching Abby locked her car and headed to the trail for her nightly jog.

It was a beautiful summer evening. Many people were out taking advantage of the weather. San Francisco had been going through a bad heat wave the past few weeks, but the heat had finally broken early that morning with the thunderstorm that had gone through. There were people out with their dogs, kids laughing and running on the playground, couples sitting on park benches, and of course, families on blankets having picnics. Abby enjoyed seeing all the people out enjoying themselves.

As Abby jogged, she passed a family of all girls that looked like they were starting to have their picnic. The little one looked up at her and gave Abby a little wave. Abby smiled and waved back.

As Abby jogged on, the trail led farther away from the park and into the wooded area. After about fifteen minutes of jogging, Abby came to a fork in the trail. Going to the left would lead her to the outlook over the bay, and going to the right would circle back to the parking lot. She took the right path.

After a few minutes, Abby noticed that everything seemed to be still. She stopped jogging and pulled her earbuds out. It felt very odd to Abby. Normally this time of year there are birds chirping and flying around, leaves rustling on the trees, little animals scurrying around in the grass, but at this moment there was none of that. It was like the world was on pause.

Then, out of nowhere, the wind started to whip around, like a storm had just come in off the bay. Abby started to again, hoping to make it back to her car before the storm started. Before she got too far, a swirling black vortex opened in front of her. Abby let out a scream as a dark cloaked figure stepped out.

The five Halliwell sisters had decided to go to the park and have a picnic for dinner that evening. Payton had been bugging to go to Golden Gate Park since they had just opened up the new play equipment, so Prue and Piper thought it would be a nice surprise. Phoebe was all for getting out of the house for a while and fourteen year-old Paige, even though she wouldn't admit it, wanted to try out the new playground too.

Prue had no more than put the car into park, and Payton had her seat belt off and was trying to climb over Paige to get out.

"Will you chill out for a second?" Paige asked Payton. Payton plopped back down into her booster seat. Paige moved in slow motion to undo her seat belt, teasing Payton.

"Come on". Payton whined, bouncing in her seat. When Paige continued to move as slow as humanly possible, Payton turned to Phoebe, who was sitting on the other side of her. Phoebe opened her door and climbed out, letting Payton slide out after her. Payton took off running for the playground.

"Oh no you don't" Paige said. She threw her door open, jumped out and chased after her baby sister. The other three sisters had a good laugh at their younger siblings. They gathered the picnic stuff from the back of Prue's SUV and set off to find a good spot to have their picnic.

After a few minutes of looking, they finally agreed on a spot. It had everything they wanted. Phoebe had wanted a spot with some shade from the evening sun. Prue insisted on being able to see the playground so she could keep an eye on Payton, which Phoebe understood, even though Paige was with Payton. And Piper had just wanted to be away from the crowded area. So they spread out their blanket near the jogging trail. It was a quiet spot, right where the trees lined the park and on a little bit of a hill, so Prue could see the entire playground. Once everything was set up, the three sisters relaxed for a while.

"Boy, did I need this" Phoebe said as she lay stretched out on the blanket.

"I think we all did," Prue said. "A nice family night out, with no work hanging over us or demons attacking." The past few weeks had been rough on them. Prue and Piper had both been crazy busy at their jobs. Prue had been preparing for huge action at Buckland for this weekend, and Piper had to get P3 ready for the yearly inspections.

"Don't say that too loudly. It's asking for trouble, from both." Piper said. She was a very superstitious person. Prue and Phoebe gave each other a look and started laughing. "What?" Piper asked. "I'm serious. It's like saying 'as long as nothing bad happens'. When you say that something bad is going to happen."

Shaking her head and laughing, Prue said, "You need to stop being so superstitious."

"I would think with everything we have seen, you two would be more superstitious."

Paige came over and flopped dramatically on the blanket, arms spread out and breathing hard. "When did she get so fast?" She asked, as Piper handed her a bottle of water from the cooler.

"She's not fast, you're just getting old," Phoebe said jokingly.

"Well if I'm old, you must be an antique," Paige came back with.

"Think you're funny, don't you?" Phoebe said as she reached into the open cooler and grabbed some ice. She reached over and dropped the clump of ice down Paige's shirt. Paige let out a scream of shock and started fishing around in her shirt. The other three sisters burst out laughing as Paige flailed around. Finally after a minute what was left of the ice fell out onto the blanket.

As Paige and Phoebe continued to play around, Piper began to set out the food and Prue fiddled around with her new camera.

"If you guys don't mind, I'd like to take some pictures on the trail after we eat," Prue said. Her sisters agreed to go on a walk with her.

"Paige, will you go get Payton and tell her dinner is ready?" Piper asked.

Paige sat up and yelled at the top of her lungs, "Payton! Food!"

"Paige! I could've done that," Piper said.

"I'll go get her," Phoebe said. She pushed Paige over as she got up and started a slow jog over to the playground.

Payton looked up from the ladder of the slide and saw Phoebe heading her way. Phoebe gave a wave for Payton to come over to her. Payton went down the slide one more time, then headed to Phoebe. When Payton got to her, she took Phoebe's hand.

"Did you have fun?" Phoebe asked as they started to head back to the others.

"Yeah. I made a new friend," Payton told her.

"That's nice."

"Is the food ready?"

"Sure is. Are you hungry?" Payton answered Phoebe's question with a nod and took off toward her other sisters. When she got there, she plopped down on the blanket. Piper handed her a wet wipe so she could clean her hands.

Phoebe sat down beside her and started dishing up a plate for herself, as Piper handed Payton hers. But Payton wasn't paying any attention to her sister. She was focused on something behind Piper and Prue. They both turned to see what had Payton's full attention.

Behind them was a young woman jogging past them. They both turned back to see Payton give her a wave.

"Do you know her?" Prue asked.

Payton shook her head no. She dropped her gaze down to the blanket, looking as if she was going to be in trouble.

"What's wrong Sweetie?" Piper asked

"Something doesn't feel right," Payton told her.

Piper gave Prue a concerned look. "Do you think she had a premonition?" Payton had some variation of each of her sisters' powers. When she got a premonition it was more of a feeling than seeing flashes of things, like Phoebe. Prue gave Phoebe a look. They had learned over time that if Payton got a weird feeling that was meant to be a premonition and Phoebe touched her, it would trigger a premonition for Phoebe. So Phoebe reached out and put her hand on Payton's shoulder. She braced herself but nothing happened. She looked at her other sisters and shook her head.

"It was probably nothing honey. Let's enjoy our picnic," Prue told Payton.

"Okay," Payton said and took her plate from Piper.

The Halliwell sisters enjoyed the sandwiches and cupcakes Piper had chatted about the week they all had as they ate. Payton was back to her normal self by the time they were finished eating. They cleaned up all their trash and took the leftovers and blanket back to the car.

"Still willing to go on that walk?" Prue asked as she closed the hatch on her SUV.

"Yeah!" Payton said. She was not ready to go home yet. She grabbed Prue's arm and started pulling her in the direction of the trail.

"I guess that's a yes," Piper said with a little laugh.

It was a beautiful walk down the trail. Prue took pictures of the different flowers, trees, of her sisters, and the sky as the sun started to set. The sky had turned a pretty pinkish color that reflected off the deep blue water of the bay. They had walked down the path that led to the outlook and sat there on the benches watching as the sun sank into the water. Once they could no longer see the sun and the last bit of light started to fade, the sisters decided to head back, but when Piper started to stand up, she found that Payton had fallen asleep on her.

"Well, I guess we tired someone out," Phoebe said, with a quiet laugh.

"I'll take her," Prue said. She reached down and scooped Payton up into her arms. Payton stirred just enough to wrap her arms around Prue's neck and to snuggle onto her shoulder. With a content sigh, she was sound asleep again. The Halliwells walked back to the car in silence, just enjoying the last bit of their day. Once they were back at the car, Prue handed Payton off to Phoebe. Phoebe strapped Payton into her booster seat as the other three climbed into the car. Paige was asleep before Prue pulled out of the parking lot.
