Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Halo. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Halo, Microsoft and 343 do.

(2517, Reach)

Every single blow hit like a train, then again? Both were busy trying to bludgeon the other down to nothing.

And both were only 9. It wasn't clear which one was male and which was female due to the fact that both had shaved heads. However? One could tell them this due to the datapad.

The male threw a punch which was caught by the other, throwing him towards the ground. He retorted with a kick that unbalanced her as he turned and climbed to his feet.

"You don't know either of them?" One voice questioned as the duo continued their melee with one another. "Gram-077 and Cal-141." The voice added as the Cal threw a kick which Gram dodged.

"Both of them are pretty… Scrappy, for Spartans." The other voice added as Gram turned and dodged a kick aimed at his ribs. "What makes you think either of them is ready for the frontline like this?" The other voice questioned which got a hearty chuckle.

Noble in the UNSC really seemed to have much faith in the project. It was a pet project at best… And a last-ditch effort at worst. People knew the fear of what the other ideas were out ruled moral high ground at the moment.

"As opposed to what?" The other voice asked which got no answer for a moment. "Letting them run wild and tear up the galaxy? This is Halsey's pet project. She wants to take a group of kids and turn them into Supersoldier? Let her, it's her funeral and the brasses' paycheck. I'm just along for the ride." The voice put in as a whistle was blown.

Both would be soldiers froze, both knew the purpose of the bell. They knew what it heralded. They knew what it being blown meant. Someone wanted them personally for something.

However? Neither knew what that would bring… Nor what it implied.

(2548 August 4th)

The spartan sat motionless to where anyone who didn't know what they were would assume the figure a statue.

Gram stayed silent, thinking about what the next op would be. That day was still burned into his brain. He knew very well what came next, they'd send him on another mission, they ALWAYS had another mission.

How many were KIA, though? ONI liked to play up the idea that Spartans were unstoppable super soldiers. He ALMOST wished that was true, he wanted to believe in it more than ANYTHING.

But they weren't, he wasn't. Gram had felt plasma cut into his armor like butter. The only things that actually saved him were the shields and his cunning. Besides that? He would be dead 20 times over.

"Sierra?" Gram heard which turned his attention to the Lieutenant in question. "Their ready for you." Gram heard which made him slowly shift his weight.

Most of the marines slowly cleared out of the way. It almost made Gram chuckle. He wasn't that tall, not compared to his partner.

No, but being 7ft and a Supersoldier incased in high tech armor that could bend a car in half? He doubted they needed much to scare them. They were terrified of him.

"Where is she?" Gram questioned, his voice curious, but alert. "She'd be here unless they have a mission, but they usually don't." Gram added with a frown under his armor.

He didn't know what they had told her to do. They had sent him to another ready room to be debriefed. Gram wanted to chuckle at how the UNSC had sent Spartans on every mission possible.

'That this rate? I wouldn't be surprised if they expected us to do half of the war ourselves.' Gram thought aloud to himself.

It wouldn't surprise him. The covenant was ripping the UNSC apart like a piece of paper through a shredder. At this rate? Nothing would stop them from burning Earth to cinders. Nothing would halt their advance into the galaxy.

Nothing except Spartans like him and Cal. Little did he know what would await them on their next assignment.

Then again? Something told Cal that this was not going to be a good day… He just didn't know what today would bring with it at the moment.

Gram let out a groan of pain and advanced.

Author Notes

Phew. First chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be delayed. Next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show Gram and Cal on a mission and show how close their bond is. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

P.S: Next chapter is 1200 words and such. I will continue the Linda story down the road at the moment.
