Militsa opened the front door; six amazon packages were stacked on the porch. She stared at them, coffee in hand, trying to remember if she ordered anything. She frowned, not sure of what to do. "Valkyrie?" she called.

"What?!" Valkyrie's voice echoed down the stairs.

"Did you order anything from amazon?" Militsa shouted. There was a short silence, followed by footsteps, running downstairs. Valkyrie bounced over to the door, and peaked through. She threw her hands up, "Yes! They're here!"

Militsa's morning voice was groggy and dazed, "What… did you order?"

"Books," Valkyrie grinned.

"Books? Just books? There are six packages here!" Militsa exclaimed.

Valkyrie smiled. "I know! It's great!" Militsa looked at Valkyrie incredulously.

"Val, how much was this?"

"Doesn't matter- I'm a millionaire, remember?"

"Yes, and a very big spender," Militsa muttered.

Valkyrie rolled her eyes, "Help me carry this upstairs."

"Yes, your majesty," Milista said, picking up one of the boxes, "Dear god, this is heavy."

Valkyrie shrugged, "Books are heavy." Whereas Miltsa grabbed one box, Valkyrie picked up two. Militsa looked over, "Show-off."

Valkyrie gasped in mock-surprise, "I can't believe you think me so low."

"Please, you're a lot lower than that."

"Stop picking on me."

"No." Militsa deadpanned. She followed Valkyrie upstairs, and into her bedroom. They were not sleeping in the same bed yet, despite living together. They had mutually agreed to take it slow, but Militsa knew it was because of Valkyrie's late nights, coming home from missions in the middle of the night. Valkyrie did not want to wake up Militsa, nor did she want her to worry, Militsa knew. Though, this only made her more concerned.

Valkyrie had installed a new bookshelf on her wall; she had finished all of the books on her other shelves. Ever since the battle against Rancid Fines, she's been avoiding reality- reading for hours and daydreaming for twice as long. There was some good to have come: Valkyrie had taken up baking, making dozens of sweets that Miltsa hadn't heard of.

Valkyrie cut open the first box. Books were stacked neatly, fitting to the box's interior. Militsa read the titles; there was a mix of adult and young adult books. Then something dawned on her, and she laughed, "Val, half of these are wlw fantasy books."

"Pure coincidence- I liked the plots," Valkyrie remarked. Militsa rolled her eyes, and continued to unpack. This was how they always talked, even on dates. Then Militsa thought, when was the last time they had gone out together?

"Maybe we should do something later…" Militsa suggested. Valkyrie looked up, "What?'

"We haven't been on a date in forever, and you need to get out. You've been shutting yourself in your bedroom for weeks."

"I know. I'm sorry."

Militsa shook her head, "Don't be. You've been through a lot recently. I just think it would be good for you."

Valkyrie smiled slightly, "I'm so lucky to have you."

"Yes, you are," Militsa said.

"Where should we go tonight?" Valkyrie asked.

Militsa grinned, "Well, there just happens to be a music festival tonight."

Valkyrie raised a suspicious eyebrow, "And you so happen to know?"

"Don't question me."

"Apologies, your majesty."

"You're forgiven. Don't do it again."

"Thank you for your kindness."

"So… would you kindly accompany me to the festival?"

"Of course, my beloved queen." Valkyrie bowed and raised Militsa's hand to her lips, kissing her knuckles.
